It's a little more complicated that you might have a few running services that you can do without.
Be careful by disabling a service may impact the ability of other agencies to run and cause problems of

Also some programs add services that might not really need to start automatically. You can
often these type services put manual to reduce their impact on performance.

To see these compare these in Start - type in the search box-> find Services at top right click RUN AS ADMIN
to those of the default Vista as indicated here by BlackViper. Ignore and who are on the disabled (which do not run) or
Manual (which work only on request) - for any automatic or automatic delayed start you can post here if
you need help to decide if you should run. Some of these can be assigned to manual and stop so that the calling program can run them as needed.

Another thing that helps performance is updated drivers - Vista like the updated drivers.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • Vostro 1500 - everything was suddenly good chart run slow

    Hello

I have a vostro 1500 (as you know) with 8600M gt graphics

laptop worked fine with win 7, play a lot of games (modern warfare 3, border area 2, civ 5,...). graphical setting was low but games run almost smooth.

3 months ago a big problem happened. each associated graph things become slow. lag in all games, or even warcraft 3 (year 2003), I used to play with the highest settings, now same menu have lag.

and the problem is not there, I felt some lag in windows too. for example in the columns resize task manager return with flickering in the text of the lines and was too slow. When to take out a window off the screen and bring it back again a few lag that was not there before. menu start even expanded her child with a lag. I know not 'gal' has any meaning here, but I think that u understand what I'm saying.

I reinstalled windows, directx and drivers installed. test games disabled, problem solved. 15 minutes later after the installation of windows updates. graph slow slow slow.

OK, reinstall win again once, no update. slow once again.

my friend told me to install win 8. OK, after installing win 8. no problem that happened for about 1 month.  but now same problem. I'm going crazy.

Yes, I have installed many software programs, including some software open source, but it is not the question, why in win 7? without any updates and the software installed.

    Help, please

About the adapter, you must ensure that it is correctly listed in the BIOS - with or without battery. If it cannot detect the type of good adapter, it will punish you by slowing down the system. A power supply loose cable broken etc could easily cause intermittent problems.

Pointed out a possible heat problem as "ejn63", is always something I forgot to mention. If you have replaced parts of the thermal system also make sure that the screws (or other) are tight and trim of thermal/thermal paste is applied correctly.

  • HP Pavilion dv6000 Perfomance issues

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion 6000, for the best part, the laptop is perfect, but for the last month or two I noticed a serious performance problem with the laptop.

When I first turn on my laptop it starts very well (a bit slow after you equip your password) but if I'm going to start Firefox or Internet Explorer, they will not start.

If I restart the laptop, it works fine.

In time she also "unresponsive" for half an hour or two.

    One is able to help?

    Thank you in advance.

PS I need to dose IE meantion not open on the first HRD of startup. I open the Task Manager and it says Firefox and IE are running even if they are not... I said at the end of the task, and they do not "ferment".

The laptop also seems to be doing very hot on the side front left (above where it says wireless and watch the HARD drive lights etc.)

I think that your laptop gets very hot on the left side because of the CPU works 100% as IE & Firefox not closed when you exit programs.

Try just using IE Firefox and leave aside, if this does not work then if you can get a program called Tune Up Utilities 2010 and install and run that could help.

I had the same problem with a Compaq. After that obtaining a Firefox update the program shut down when I left it and I had to use the Task Manager to close it.

(I stopped using IE version 6 and moved more than Firefox, although I can't delete IE as it seems are part of the "Windows explorer")

Then, I got the latest version of Tune Up Utilities as I've used it before and it is good. I then installed & ran it to a 'Registry Clean Up' and the problem was solved.

I also find that if you have Zone Alarm as a firewall that uses about 30% CPU so I always get "hot"!

  • Repeating offers to install the additional content in first items 10

After installing first Elements 10 "successfully", everything seems to be all right the first day. All additional content appears in the menus, just as it should. But the next day, when I get home from Premiere Elements, I'm greeted by a message saying that the additional content is NOT installed, and I would like to install it? (See image below).

I have installed and reinstalled first Elements 10 at least 5 times, then on the multi-plate DVD version, I bought and downloaded version first. I get the same message.

Although there is only the simplest installation instructions printed with the DVD, I followed the instructions for installation as shown on the Web. The programs control panel indicates all additional content from Adobe first Elements 10 is installed. If you click 'Yes' in response to the full to install content warning, the system goes to UNINSTALL additional content, because it is already installed.

I am running Windows 7 64-bit, processor Intel core i7, 12 GB of RAM and masses of storage capacity. No other programs are defective. I am not a novice in computer science and have used different versions of Premiere Elements version 3 on since 10 years. I also have Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Lightroom 4.1 on my system. I wonder if there is a conflict with another program, perhaps something totally independent of first Elements10. Something is perhaps the PE10 triggering, forcing him to lose that extra content, indeed, was installed. May a registry cleaner, such that CCleaner, TuneUp Utilities 2012 or other utility of some being clear essential tweaks?  Furthermore, although it shows as being installed in the Control Panel, none of the additional content is available within the program after the second day of use, even if it was there the day before. This type of error is a new one for me, and frankly, I'm puzzled.

    Prem_El_10_problem.jpg

I think that I finally stumbled on the reason of the problem. I have another program, tune up Utilities 2012, I have used for many years. It's a kind of Toolbox of utilities, among which are automatic and 1-click maintenance routines that occur behind the scenes, but send a message onscreen after execution.

Yesterday, I reinstalled first Elements 10 again another time. All additional content was there, as usual. I stopped the system from one day to the next. When I turned it on this morning, everything was still recognized and present - all additional content.

While in the morning I was working on other tasks and I noticed that the message of the 1-click maintenance routine was executed. Now, I'm taking no chances, so I re started immediately Premiere Elements and that is! and here! -additional content has been are most recognized.

    AHA!

I then used one of the functions of the development utilities to restore the 1-click Automatic changes, what he had done, and then restarted first Elements - all additional content has been recognized once more.

My conclusion: the registry changes made by tune-up utility caused the problem. Apparently, it detects a Premiere Elements-associated registry entry that she assumed incorrectly as an error.

Needless to say, I have informed the tune-up commercial support and stopped the program to run until they clarify or solve the problem.

Thus, it may be that it is not a question of Premiere Elements, although it always seems strange that a registry entry is that questionable.
