Tungsten E no photos

Office v4.1.4

I put some pictures in the window of the main memory, did a HotSync, the photos were marked with an "unknown error" and on the Tungsten E there is no picture on the screen icon.

This Tungsten E replaces my old M505.

All the other functions and data has been properly not synchronized everywhere... just no pictures

Brute Force method.

I went to my other office where everything has worked, found in the PDB and PRC associated pictures, copied to the 'problem' Office, would be to HotSync and all is well (or almost).

Photos will not HotSync to main memory, but go very well on my expansion card, where is the Pic of will go.

Appreciate the ideas

Merry Christmas

I'm in Palm Desktop by Access on Vista.  Everything works well except the visualization of photos.  I HotSynced photos from my SD card, but none of the programs except JpegWatch can access and show them.  BUT it's really slow!  I have PLPhotos, but it does not find the pictures.  The Photo program supplied with Palm can not find the pictures.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hello!

IM curious about the format of these images are.  Indeed, JpegWatch can be like that but it is an application of image type no-flare.  Pending on the type of file, your photos are in, Ive found GrxView Pro is a pretty good application for the display of photos of high quality.

  • bottom of Tungsten e2

I have a "new"Tungsten e2."  I want to change the background and know how, but there are only 2 choices.  Where can I get some more options?

    Kristine

You can use pictures as background of the device.  If you are unfamiiar with synchronization of photos to your E2, discussion begins on page 173 of the user's Guide of E2 which is downloadable from the support site.

Then, from the same E2 Users Guide:

    Customizing Favorites

You can customize the Favorites display by changing the background image to your favorite photo. You can also change the references to those that you use most often.

Change the background photo in Favorites mode

    1. go to your Favorites.

    2. open the Display Options dialog box:

    a. open the menus.

    b. Select Options, and then select Display Options.

    3. Select a photo for the background:

    a. background check.

    b. Select the image area.

    c. Select an image.

    d. Select done.

4 adjust the fade setting so that the text is easy to read against the photo, then select OK.

    Fact

I hope it works for you.

  • Tungsten e2, replaced by one used, used to synchronize with PC

Help! I had a tungsten e2 for years, broke the screen now. Replaced by a used one on Ebay. You try to transfer old PC data (contacts, calendar, photos) when I plug in hotsync transfer old data from the old user to my PC.  But not my data to the new unit. How to for old users wipout pocket computer account and get my data?

    I'd appreciate any help!

    Thank you

    George

Hello Riley57, you will need to perform a hard reset on the 'new' E2.

To perform a hard reset: (Palm Knowledgebase article #887)

    http://KB.Palm.com/wps/portal/KB/common/article/887_en.html

By now the power down button, press on and release the Reset button on the back and continue to press the Power button. When the gray Palm logo is displayed, you can release the Power button.

You should now see the warning in 5 languages page. Press the direction upward on the 5-way keypad to perform the task. The Palm restarts several times as it re - install the original programs and erases all data from your previous.

Once that the device ends, perform a HotSync.  Palm Desktop will recognize that it is empty and ask to "create a new account to Hotsync, or use an existing one?   Choose existing and select the name of your old account Hotsync.

  • Resurrection of Tungsten E

My Tungsten E has served me well for many years... until that Windows XP Service Pack 3.  After troubleshooting without end and a lot of bad advice, I was now able to synchronize with my PC using Desktop 4.1.4.  The procedure is not intuitive remote, was not without pain.  I had to do a complete reset of the E, which wiped out everything I had on it.  Fortunately, I saved all my apps, pictures and data.  I save, however, my old apps Palm... and now, after loading 4.1.4 I found Palm pictures is no longer on my PDA.  Where can I get a copy?

You still have the CD that you got with your handheld?

If you do so, insert the CD, and then explore the CD for photo splash. Install the program on your handheld using quick installation.

If you do not have the CD, then you can download the program from the following site.

  • Tungsten C - no wi - fi

I just bought a Tungsten C on eBay.  When I activate the WiFi he only says 'no signal' when I'm standing in the heat of the hot spots.

I wonder if this PDA was purchased in another country, France for example, then it would be unable to work with wi - fi British frequencies. The seller was very unhelpful, so is it possible to check what frequencies this machine is made for? Or is there another explanation for the problem?

I understand that there should be a serial number and MAC address on the back but there is only an empty metal Panel. The seller refuses all knowledge of what it is about that. The MAC address on the news of Wi - Fi is administered by 00:07:E0:13:C5:CC. Is it possible to find more information on the PDA from these information, such as serial number?

    Thank you.

    Chris

    I fixed it!

Thanks a lot for the pointers. Here's what I did:

First I watched the BrightHand.com feed WyreNut suggested (http://forum.brighthand.com/showthread.php?t=96641&highlight=wifi+fix). I don't bother with the idea of twisting the case because that seem more likely to create more problems to address. The photo on this page of a Tungsten C with the back removed clearly shows that the wi - fi device is easily accessible, right there in the middle. It looked like a simple question to consider, so I decided to do exactly this.

First of all, I did a little research to find more tips on opening the case. http://www.PalmInfocenter.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29420&highlight=&SID=75e75d07a08499708d183da4ecd539d8 has some good pictures showing how to go even further with stripping down to a and C, until the replacement of the screen (this page starts watching a Zire 72 but goes on the Tungsten C below).

http://www.gethightech.com/Merchant2/merchant.MV?screen=CTGY&Category_Code=Rd has instructions for dismantling a lot of PDA. Strangely their photos of the tungsten c. do not show the wi - fi device, but their instructions to open the case have been invaluable:

"With the 4 screws removed you can take the back cover of the unit." The back cover is clipped so it can be difficult to remove. So trying to pull the back cover directly to the exit at the back. »

It is a tight fit, that I overcame by lever the case with a butter (not sharp) knife.

Fortunately, I already had a Torx screwdriver to remove the four screws of the housing. As well as a few other tools, it came with a spare battery that I bought for my 72 s Zire, although I did have the time of mounting the new battery because open this machine looks much more formidable than the C.

After removing the back of the case, the wi - fi device is immediately accessible. I he waved gently (wearing a braid to avoid damage to static). There was no sign of slackening, so I removed the wireless unit, which is just a small daughter card held by two screws with a connector plugged into the motherboard. There is also a lead that you can see in the photo on BrightHand.com, ranging from the right of the wi - fi device up to the top right of the PDA. I unplugged that too, but I advise anyone else not to do because the connector could easily be damaged when plugging it back, although mine was fine. So I just put everything back together again, without worrying about cleaning the contacts as they clearly were in perfect condition.

    And it worked!

It is true that the solid locked PDA downloading the home page of Google with the browser integrated, but I don't know that I can fix this, maybe by installing Opera.

To summarize, the Tungsten c wi - fi is a daughter card located on the back of the motherboard. It seems that this device can move, so that it does not have a good connection. If wi - fi does not work and that the number of MAC is correct (much information about this potential problem can be found with Google), then try this:

    1. open the housing by unscrewing the four screws with a Torx screwdriver and pulling or by levering on the back, downright backward so that the back of the case of the rest roughly parallel to the body of the PDA.

    2. remove the two screws which hold the card WiFi, then pull the wi - fi free, new device to keep parallel to the motherboard. Don't forget to take anti-static precautions;

3 put all back together and see if you have fixed it!

Thanks a lot for all the help. Next step, the Zire 72 battery...

    All the best,
    Chris

    Help!

Click on the following link for the Web page of kb.palm.com for the article about the OLERR messages in the Hotsync log.

    http://www.Palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?id=31167

Look through this article and see if you can solve the problem with calendar synchronization.

There may be the database at the source of the problem. Click on the following link for the program called DbFixiT. This program has a trial version that you can download and install on your Palm OS device. The trial version will search the database and then to declare the corruption. You can then search records at the origin of the problem and fix them yourself or you can buy the program and do it automatically repair records.

    http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/dbfixit.htm

If you want to install DBfixit, disable the driving schedule (set to "do nothing") and the program on your handheld syncs. After the analysis and setting of the database on the handheld, the channel of exchange for Pocket Calendar replaces desktop and synchronization with the PC.

  • HotSync does not start with new Tungsten E2

I put my old camera Tungsten T2 with an E2 level.  Following the upgrade instructions, I implemented the E2 last night and let it charge all night, then tonight made a final with the T2 HotSync and run the installation program on the CD supplied with the E2.  At the time when the installer asks me to press the HotSync button on the USB cable I did and Windows came the notice in the system tray as a new USB device and the Palm handheld device was ready to use.  After that, nothing.  A minute or two later the E2 expires and he said that "the connection between your device and the desktop could not be established.  Please check your configuration and try again. »

I tried to reinstall the software, upgrade to Palm Desktop 6.2 from the web site, and then restarting the computer several times, but I can never get the HotSync Manager to meet the E2.

On the other hand, the HotSync Manager will always synchronize with my old T2.

Palm Desktop is running on Windows XP.  I was using version 4.1.0, which came with my T2.  For the E2, I tried versions 4.1.0 4.1.4e and 6.2.

I want to emphasize that Windows XP in turn is running in VMware Workstation 6.5 on Fedora 10 many (Linux 2.6.27.12 - 170.2.5.fc10).  Last Sunday I tried start Windows XP natively (which was a royal pain since I have hard drives to do so), installation of Palm Desktop 6.2 he and HotSync.  This configuration has worked insofar as the device is able to connect to the computer.

Unfortunately only synchronize my to-do list and some 3rd party programs; He lost all of my notes, contacts, calendar of events and photos.  But that's another topic.

  • Media/Photos-Foto

For some reason, I lost my photos.  I USED to have an icon that says, simply, 'media '.  It's over.  I now have an icon that says "Photos/Foto" and when I try to open it I get the error message, "the application cannot be launched because missing location information."  Have no IDEA why my photos located on the Palm Desktop won't Hot Sync now to my Palm one Tungsten E2.

    Thank you

    DrBillS

Dear lover Palm: thanks for responding to my question.  I did an update to the latest version of the Palm Desktop software.  Who didn't not help, BUT what I have to do, finally, a hard reset of the Palm, then a new HotSync.  Problem solved.  This is only the 2nd time I've ever had to do a hard reset of my Tungsten E2 - had to pull the manual to remember how to DO a hard reset, but PROBLEM SOLVED.  The 'wrong' icon disappeared and my "Media" icon came back with intact all the photos.

    Thank you!

  • Automatic white balance didn't work - photos is proved very violet/pink everything - can you help me?

I've been a photographer for these last years, and it's the first time I have encountered this problem. I shot an event for a couple (reception) and I didn't have my grey card, so I put my Canon 5 d mkII on the white balance automatic (shooting with a Canon 24-70 2.8 and a Sigma 85 1.4, if it helps). As you will see on the photos of two examples - photos taken in the conference hall was going well, but the Favorites of the event itself were surprisingly saturated. The room had a ton of very bright uplighting in purple and pink - the shooting was going on in the viewfinder, but once I got them in the LR4, there was an almost complete cast of violet/rose above it all. Adjustment of the balance of whites in LR for auto, tungsten, fluorescent - nothing has worked. Adjust the temporary sliders - only a little better. Reducing the vibrance and saturation has helped a little more, but I really find a solution! I can't afford to pay back their money, but if I can't find a decent solution, I'll do it. I want to give them the best possible color correction, but I'm pretty new to LR and I could use some help. Just to be clear, I'm not looking for a link to a tutorial on how to adjust the white balance - I read all the... I'm hoping by using someone who has experienced this same thing or can still offers advanced solutions that "try to set the sliders more» Thank you in advance!

    http://i.imgur.com/uGoEuiB.jpg

This isn't a matter of White Balance, and you will not be able to adjust this image with the settings of white balance only - either behind closed doors or in Lr.

You shot this photo in colored light, and the effect you looks as if you want a fancy color filter in front of your lens.

I doubt if it can be adjusted to a 'normal' image looking at all. But for all its worth, here are the best I could come up with – even if I don't say it's THE best, in fact, it is still severely lacking.

And here's screenshots of the settings I used. I found that the most promising "adjustments" were in the calibration Panel. If you play a little bit maybe there is a better solution.

The image has a severe cast of purple, which is a red and blue combination. Increasing green will help. That is why I put the slider dyed in Basic-100.

In the calibration Panel, I put the still green hue, reduces the saturation of red and blue and changed the shades. Finally, in HSL, I reduced the saturation of blue.

PS: I think that the advice of Lee Jay is good. Create your own profile for counterweight in light color.

  • Photos, iCloud and OneDrive sync

    Hi all

I have a question on how to better organize my photo library.

For the moment, on my space OneDrive (mapped to a partition on my MacBook SSD), I have a folder called 'Images' containing just about all of my photos and organized by folders.

Since my tech ecosystem is roughly marked Apple (iPhone, iPad and MacBook), I would use the power and versatility of the Photos and iCloud, so that everything remains in all of my devices and free space memory iPhone sync.

Here's the question: I want to keep my pictures saved on OneDrive, then put the Photos on my Mac to view photos from this folder and use iCloud to share through my devices.

-I see the same folder structure on iPhone and iPad a synchronization is complete?

-More important, if I take a picture with my iPad, it will be placed not only on iCloud but also automatically added pictures on Mac which, in turn, puts it in the folder of photos on my OneDrive?

-Finally, take pictures of my iDevices will store them in the film. If I move them into folders, photos will be mapped (copied to iCloud) on my other devices constantly (in the folder)?

I would like to notice I'm not trying to avoid using iCloud premium space - I already have a subscription plan of 50 GB that I don't mind mounted. I just keep having just all my photos on OneDrive.

Thank you in advance for any comments you may have!

    Paul

    The answer is simply not

The photo library can not be stored on a basic system to pictures not work will have a referenced library, so you may not have a local library references photos on a disc - the photo library can be on a local drive connected directly to the Mac OS Extended format

You can synchronize between the Mac and IOS devices using iCloud library that synchronizes the photos and the structure of the album/folder between devices

When you import pictures you can export them to your OneDrive record and have a copy (not associate Photos somehow) on a disk

You can not have the same physical pictures in Photos and on one disc - each must have its own copy of the Photo

  • Photo of sorting in the Sierra

I recently returned from a trip and imported my photos in Photos. They are a mixture of photos from iPhone and my camera, but I have synced the time on both, they would then be in the correct order once mixed between them.  Because I was in the mountains, some photos have a geographical location, embedded, and others do not.

However, in the Photos, it does not seem to be a way to sort everything by time. It is all the photos with the news of geographic location as a moment of consolidation, then showing those without much later in the order. This applies even to try to sort "Oldest first" album. The result is very disjointed and confusing, as photos taken seconds apart on the same subject appear nowhere near each other in the album sorted.

Other than the manual update of hundreds of photos with an approximate location, or stripping all its location data, is there a way to get around this?

Make a user photo album - either a standard album or smart album (smart album for pictures between certain dates is probably logical) and you can then sort by date/time, ascending or descending or title album (menu display == > sorting)
