Tungston E2 My calander data disappeared from my office.

My calendar data has disappeared from my office. Hot handheld synchronization does not bring this back.

Contact information remain on office as do anniversaries on the calendar in the area of time not at the top of the screen.

I have all my data to my calendar on a laptop, can I use my Pocket PC to get this data and hot then synchronize with the desktop calendar to bring back data to the desktop?

Actually, I now have data on the other laptop and want to import into the office where he has disappeared since. I will try to transfer the laptop to desktop using this method. The data will remain on the laptop when I copy the disk scan. I don't want to lose your laptop.

The data will remain.

To make things a little less disturbing, just do a full copy of your user account folder before performing the export.  If you use Palm Desktop 4.x, it should reside in C:\Program Files\Palm (or PalmOne) \ < your HotSync username truncated >

Copy (and not move) the entire folder elsewhere on the computer.

Today, I received a message that does not have my Time Machine backup.  While they inspected out, I find that my HD internal backup icon has disappeared from my office.  Yikes!  How find it & get it back?  I run first aid disk backup and the Info window says "not mounted."  However, he finds the disk in the finder window,

I would add that the first aid app takes a long time and the small progress bar indicates no progress at all.  "He's been on: checking multiple related files" forever.

  • reminder disappeared from the Office

I have a relatively new computer running windows 7 pro.  Few problems. Tonight, I am home after doing something else and found that my reminder with my to-do list had disappeared from the office.  There is no error message and clicking on the icon in the toolbar them recovered.  I restarted the computer and they appeared.  I ran the SFC system, a few days ago.

Everything else seems to work, even if today, I suddenly disconnected (e) Skype which surprised me 9latest version). I have antivirus and use Outlook.com.  I deleted temporary files, deleted cookies and didn't expect no more problems. I love these notes and can't imagine why they just disappear?

Please don't tell me to reinstall the operating system.

    Ellen

Sticky notes are nice but not reliable because they are easily erased or deleted because they are not permanent files,

As another way to list these items using Notepad or Wordpad.

Click on start / all programs / Accessories folder / Notepad. (is free) WordPad is part of the Office on I think, but it may also be listed.

I'm new to this, so please be patient. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium OS on a Dell XPS M1210 laptop. I tried to burn my first DVD. A window appeared in windows media player, saying that I had to install a burner/player. The ICON for the drive disappeared from my office. I can't find anything anywhere. I had just finished burning files to a CD - R disc in the 'Master Disc' configuration, with success. Dell support site is down at the moment.

I can't find any software for the drive. You can use some of your skills!

  • Most of my applications disappeared from my office

Someone used my computer and somehow most of the applications have disappeared from my office.  I don't think that anything has been downloaded.  For example I have Chrome, but who is no longer there.  IE is still there, but none of the changes I made (IE home page) is here.  A program that I have loaded (a photo editing program) is still there.  But I have several photos and they are no longer in my photos directory.

Can you help me to return to my old setting?

When you install a program it is a user whether option if they create a shortcut on the desktop

The programs are probably still there, in all programs.

The user has reset the IE home page

A few minutes ago, I had a creative cloud update notification.  I ran the update and Creative cloud disappeared from my office.  That's happened?  I still CC Photoshop and bridge CC.  But you will still get CC updated?  I no longer seem to also have a Creative Cloud membership - just something that resembles a monthly fee to keep Photoshop for customers with Photoshop CS3 +.  What is going on?

I just had an online Chat with the Support from Adobe, and we uninstalled CC Desktop and reinstalled.  Which corrects the problem.  I don't know what CAUSED the problem though.

  • Desktop shortcuts for items on the network sometimes drives disappear from the Office

I have a number of shortcut icons on my desktop Windows 7 (RC1) to the network elements - some are files on a NAS server, some are mapped as the floppy drives, etc. However, Windows 7 seems to sometimes simply remove all without notice, and I have to recreate all the shortcuts to my NAS articles again.

I wondered at first if this may have been because Windows sometimes would start until all my network devices is available, but when that happens, he scored just correctly icons with a red x to indicate that he could not find them at startup, and as soon as the NAS is available then shortcuts work fine.

However at random intervals, seven of these shortcuts simply disappear from the desktop. All other shortcuts and icons are very good and the mapped drives are always present in my 'Computer' screen - it's just the focused on the NAS shortcuts on the desktop that disappear.

No idea why this is happening?

    André

If you create shortcuts from desktop to removable storage locations such as NAS icons will disappear from time to time because Windows 7 has a built in scheduling the task to clean up unused or broken links.

To prevent the task to run, you must disable the task in the task schedular: Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-Task Scheduler
Expand the tree in the left pane until you get to the Task Scheduler Library-Microsoft-Windows-diagnosis.
In the right pane, right click on the named scheduled task, and then click on disable.

  • Shortcut network disappeared from the Office of Windows7

    Hello
first of all sorry for my English, I'm Italian!

I'm a system for a small and medium business administrator. We are moving to Windows 7, because I think it's faster and more reliable than XP... but we have a little problem:
Any customer using a new PC running Windows 7 , are complaining of the same problem (but boring):
Some times generally (after the reboot, but not always) all the 'shortened network' disappear from office without reason.
With the word "shortcut network" I mean: link to the remote folder (folder on a network file server), link to computer from the network or link to my own connections (such as the VPN to my company)
An especially don't bind to the network resources are affected by this problem, [the desktop icon, the internal links, ore file icons, are not affected by this problem]

It happened to me also (on all of my 3 PCs) and I'm really surprised!
I found some forums with the same question:
    example 1 http://forums.techarena.in/operating-systems/1285630.htm
    Example 2 http://www.bdc-forum.it/showthread.php?t=91939
but all have not yet given a comprehensive response

    Can you help me?
    Best regards
    Giorgio

BossDweebe thanks for your quick response. Yes, I mean that!

In general I want to say "link on the desktop pointing to external resources" as:

    link to removabke USB pen
    link to the memory card
link to the computer from the network
link to the shared folder [not on my PC] network.

My idea was this link to clean periodically broken (or does not apparently) of windows from the desktop:

Without doubt, I found the solution for this problem:

You must click the Start Menu > Control Panel and then > go to system and security > administrative tools (bottom) > Task Scheduler > Task Scheduler (Local) (top left corner) > Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft > Windows > diagnosis >

(right pane) Right-click on planned > disabled

In the case of the active shortcuts then all desktop external drives such as card readers, usb, CD/DVD player and also Panel readers so items are deleted by Windows 7 when planning

  • My outlook express 6.0 sometimes powers down (disappears from my office while I use it) why?

When I'm in the Middle using OE, it sometimes disappears and appears as an icon on my desktop!  Why? How can I prevent it?

An icon on the desktop, or minimized in the taskbar?

You may have a damaged identity especially if it's the default main identity. File | Identities | Add the new identity. Create a new one and try it. If all goes well, you can import your messages and address book from the old identity and delete it.

Note: Do not use the main word in the name of the new identity.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=903095

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the processors and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

    And backup often.
