Tunnel VPN, Interface Dialer, 1841, ASA
We have Cisco 1841 looked with a Cisco ASA 5520 for a VPN tunnel. The 1841 will carry the PPPOE client and the DSL router is in bridge mode. We have a problem with the card encryption were not applied to the dialer interface after the router is rolled power. The startup configuration to display the map encryption applied. Everyone has seen this problem before and the workaround?
RUNNING THIS IOS:
Cisco IOS Software, 1841 (C1841-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4 (25), R
SENSE SOFTWARE (fc2)
This is a known bug in 12.4 (25):
CSCsz41177 Card crypto missing from the interface to reload
It is set to 12.4(25a).
The solution is to manually apply the encryption card to the interface after reloading :)

Problem with Tunnel VPN L2L between 2 ASA´s
Hi guys,.
I have some problems with my VPN Site to site tunnel between 2 ASA (5520/5505).
I watched a lot of videos on youtube, but I can't find out why the tunnel does not...
Both devices can ping eachothers WAN IP address (outside interfaces), but I don't see any traffic between the 2 sites. It seems that the tunnel is not open to everyone. When i PING from the local to the Remote LAN (which should be an interesting traffic for the tunnel...), the its IKEv1 remains empty...
Am I missing something? I can't understand it more why same phase 1 is not engaged.
You NAT won't. In your config file traffic is NATted initially and then does not match any more crypto ACL. You must move the rule dynamic NAT/PAT until the end of the table on two ASAs NAT:
no nat (INSIDE,OUTSIDE) source dynamic any interface nat (INSIDE,OUTSIDE) after-auto source dynamic any interface

VPN Tunnel access to several subnets ASA 5505
Greetings,
We spent a little time trying to configure our ASA 5505 in order to TUNNEL into several different subnets. Subnets include 192.168.1.0 / 192.168.2.0 / 192.168.10.0
Someone is about to review this setup running and indicate where we have gone wrong. When I connect via the VPN Client, I can access the 192.168.1.0 network, no problem. But fail to reach the other two. Thank you very much.
Output from the command: 'show running-config '.

I see two problems:
1. your ASA has not an interior road to the Incas inside networks. You must add:
Route inside 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0
Route inside 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0
.. .specifying your gateway address of these networks.
2. the statement "access-list standard vpn_splitTunnelAcl permit 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0" sends only a route for 192.168.1.0/24 to your customer. You need to add entries for the other two networks.

VPN client and ssh to the external interface of the ASA
Hello world
I was testing clientless ssl in my lab at home.
When you're connected via vpn without customer, I am able to ssh ASA outside interface, but when I use ssl vpn only I can't ssh to the external interface of the ASA.
Need to figure out how I can ssh to the external interface of the ASA using clientless ssl vpn?
Concerning
MAhesh
Mahesh,
When you are on clientless SSL VPN to your customer is not limited routes of the Internet, isn't being NATted etc. If ASA is set to allow ssh from outside, then the VPN SSL without client user is no different from any other.
A the user SSL VPN full tunnel can have any or all of these factors at play. One of them can cause the impossibility to access the ASA outside interface via ssh. I see the configuration to tell you which one (or more) is to blame.

Migrate from tunnel vpn again ASA
Hello
Is it possible to migrate an existing sites (vpn) to a new ASA.
We have more than 50 offices connected to our main office, we have installed a new Firewall ASA with a bigger pipe.
I need a way to migrate the offices which saves time (go through each office) and silver (buying a new router and send it with the new configuration).
I thought to add a new address of peers and kill the pre-shared on the old VPN.
can someone help me please.
Yes.
I would like to do the following if I was responsible for this project.
- Configure the new ASA with all groups of tunnel for remote counterparts and the rest of the VPN configuration (cards crypto, ACLs, NAT, etc..)
- Connect on the ASAs remote through the external interface. Most organizations allow SSH/https to their specific management firewall IPs to the main site.
- Create a tunnel-group for the period of INVESTIGATION by the ASA peers again.
- Change the existing crypto map peer IP to point to the new IP address.
- On your core network on the main site routing, change/add an IP route to local subnets pointing inside the site remote interface of the new ASA for your local network to reach remote sites correctly.
This should be it. Thank you.

Hi Bill
This is possible, but add the same card encryption both of the inetrfaces
crypto PATH_A OUTSIDE_A map interface
crypto PATH_A OUTSIDE_B map interface
and he is not allowed to use the reverse route command.
You need to reach, but also "floating conn timeout 0:01:00.
I used an internet connection for the site to site vpn and the other for all other traffic (default route). All routes taken with ip sla.
I did it with 8.6

Cisco VPN Client and Windows XP VPN Client IPSec to ASA
I configured ASA for IPSec VPN via Cisco VPN Client and XP VPN client communications. I can connect successfully with Cisco VPN Client, but I get an error when connecting with the XP client. Debugging said "misconfigured groups and transport/tunneling mode" I know, they use different methods of transport and tunneling, and I think that I have configured both. Take a look at the config.
PS a funny thing - when I connect with client VPN in Windows Server 2003, I have no error. The only difference is that client XP is behind an ADSL router and client server is directly connected to the Internet on one of its public IP of interfaces. NAT in the case of XP can cause problems?

Hello
For the Cisco VPN client, you would need a tunnel-group name configured on the ASA with a pre-shared key.
Please see configuration below:
http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a00805734ae.shtml
or
Please see the section of tunnel-group config of the SAA.
There is a tunnel-group called "rtptacvpn" and a pre-shared key associated with it. This group name is used by the VPN Client Group name.
So, you would need a specific tunnel-group name configured with a pre-shared key and use it on the Cisco VPN Client.
Secondly, because you are behind a router ADSL, I'm sure that's configured for NAT. can you please activate NAT - T on your ASA.
"crypto isakmp nat-traversal.
Thirdly, change the transformation of the value
raccess 1 set transform-set vpnclienttrans crypto dyn1 dynamic-map
Let me know the result.
Thank you

Tunnel from site to site ASA with U turn to config
Hello
I have a VPN tunnel site race between ASA 5510 (8.2) and Cisco PIX506 (remote site). I need allow remote users to surf the net. I was looking for in the documentation here and circulation activated to enter/exit the same interface on the ASA (same-security-traffic intra-interface permit), however it still something lack. I don't know how to fix this...
ASA is configured for NAT inside customers to a single public IP address (VPN tunnel ends also at this interface)
ASA:
Global 1 208.x.x.x (outside)
NAT (inside) - 0 no.-Nat-VPN access list
NAT (inside) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0So when packets Internet comes through the tunnel, there need be sent on the same interface and NATted (but for the tunnel at work I had to exempt intrested NAT traffic). What is the cause of a problem?
Hello
NAT rules should be like this:
Global 1 208.x.x.x (outside)
NAT (outside) 1 mask x.x.x.x--> pool VPNWith the foregoing, you are from the VPN clients out to the Internet.
You can always leave the SHEEP ACL for the VPN itself traffic.
Federico.

Default route inside the tunnel VPN Site to site
We want to carry the default traffic within the site to site VPN tunnel, our goal is to route all traffic including default branch road and HO HO help branch for surfing the internet.
I have due to difficulties
1. cannot configure dynamic NAT for the router in the branch on the ASA HO, I know configuration for 8.2, but know not about 8.4
This is the configuration for the 8.2, if someone can translate to 8.4, which would be a great help
NAT (outside) 1 192.168.230.0
2. I do not know how to write the default route on the branch office router to send all traffic within the VPN tunnel
Hello
As I understand it then you want to route ALL traffic from the Remote Site to the Central Site and manage Internet traffic there.
I suppose you could define "interesting traffic" in configuring VPN L2L ACL / access-list in the following way
Branch router
extended IP access list
allow an ip
ASA central
ip access list allow one
The idea behind the type of ACL for the VPN L2L above configurations is that, for example, the branch office router has a rule that sets connection coming from the local LAN for 'any' destination address must be sent to the VPN L2L connection. So, it would be in such a way that all the traffic will be sent to the Central Site via VPN L2L.
I must say however, that the VPN router configurations side are not more familiar to me because I manage especially with ASA Firewall (and to some extent still PIX and FWSMs)
I guess that on the ASA Central you will PAT translation to "outside" so that the host can access the Internet?
You would probably do something like this
object-group network to REMOTE-SITE-PAT-SOURCE
network-object
interface of REMOTE-SITE-PAT-SOURCE dynamic NAT (outside, outside) after auto source
If you don't want to use the 'outside' IP address, then you will have to create a 'network of object' for address IP of PAT and use it in the line of NAT configuration above instead of "interface".
Alternate configuration might be
network of the REMOTE-SITE-PAT object
subnet
dynamic NAT interface (outdoors, outdoor)
You also need to enable
permit same-security-traffic intra-interface
To allow traffic to enter and exit the same interface on the ASA
All these answers are naturally suggestion on what you have to do. I don't know what kind of configurations you have right now.
Hope this helps in some way

Tunnel VPN site to Site - aggressive Mode
I searched the community for answers to this and that you have not found quite what I was looking for (or what seems logical). I have an ASA 5510 to A site with one website VPN tunnel to a SonicWall to site B. Which works very well. I need to create a tunnel for site C to site a using a tunnel of aggressive mode. I'm not quite sure how to do this. Any suggestion would be great!
NOTE: I have included the parts of the running configuration that seem relevant to me. If I missed something please let me know.

ciscoasa # $Still, I can't ping ASA remote outside from outside of the Local interface. And there is no connectivity between the 192.168.80.0 distance and local don't say 192.168.1.0. I have run out of ideas
Would appreciate any help. Thank you in advance...
If the tunnel is up (phase 1), but no traffic passing the best test is the following:
Add order management-access to the Interior , and then try to PING the intellectual property inside ASA counterpart.
inside x.x.x.x ping --> x.x.x.x is the IP of the ASA peer inside
The test above shows if the traffic passes through the tunnel (check encrypted/decrypted packets of sh cry ips its).
Test on both directions.
Please post the results.

Recently I tried to build a tunnel VPN of LAN LAN 2 connecting an Asa to a current zone based firewall 2911. It's a standard IPSec psk tunnel nothing complicated. I got the tunnel to establish, but I could only get traffic to encap on the side of the SAA and decap on the side of 2911. I couldn't return circulation. I followed this doc classic here for IPSec in the last example.
http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/prod/collateral/vpndevc/ps5708/ps5710/ps1018/...
And I don't know that the SAA is right I have built a ton of those but I am new to zfw. I don't see anything about a NAT rule exempt. But as all used real IPs instead of NAT I wasn't sure and I have found no info. I do free NAT? If If you are using a roadmap on the end you NAT overload line config as in the past?
I also have a pair of area to "self" and I didn't know if I need something there to be able to do a ping from inside the 2911 interface when the tunnel is at the top of the remote end. Thank you
Is the pair area yourself, outside of itself?
And you say that you do not use only NAT, have real addresses (public routable addresses?), so why you have to make an exception for NAT you have not?

No access to the interface of the ASA by behind the other is
Hello
I am faced with the issue of not being able to access the interface of "dmz" behind the interface 'internet '.
Here is a brief description of the topology:
List entry on the internet access "," allows for 1xx.xxx.172.1 traffic.
No nat is configured between these interfaces.
The routing is OK because hosts on the DMZ network are accessible from the Internet.
The software version is 9.1 (3).
Security level of the interfaces is the same.
Security-same interface inter traffic is allowed.
Here's what packet trace says:

Hello
You will not be able to connect to an IP address of an interface ASA behind another ASA interface. It is a limit that has been there for Cisco firewalls as long as I can remember.
The only exception is when you have a VPN connection that is connected to an ASA interface, then you can connect through this VPN connection to another interface of the ASA. In this case the ASA will also require that you have the following command
access to the administration
Where is the name of the interface to which you are connected.

Tunnel VPN site to Site with 2 routers Cisco 1921
Hi all
So OK, I'm stumped. I create much s2s vpn tunnels before, but this one I just can't go there. It's just a tunnel VPN Site to Site simple using pre-shared keys. I would appreciate it if someone could take a look at our configs for both routers running and provide a comment. This is the configuration for both routers running. Thank you!
