Turning on bitlocker issues.

Problems with BitLocker.

What I've done so far is activated using a USB key by running GPEdit.msc. From here on, I'm went to models of administration-> components-> BitLocker Drive Encryption-> operating system Windows readers-> require additional authentication at startup, which enabled and allow it BitLocker without a compatible TPM was already checked. Press OK and you leave.

I used the windows Explorer, click with the right button on the system drive and chose to shoot to "Turn on BitLocker" and I get an error that says "a compatible trusted Platform Module (TPM) security device must be present on this computer, but a TPM module was not found."

I've already prepared some suggestions for a very old post back in and by checking disable them on the template rebooted and then reactivated it but I still get the same error.

I use Windows 7 64-bit volume license business on a domain.

I used BitLocker successfully on many laptops so far, but no case of this model.

USB devices are enabled at startup upward in the BIOS.

The laptop is a HP ProBook 4420 s with 2 GB of RAM if it's important.

Any help would be appreciated the employee wants his laptop in return.

Hello!

After changing the setting, you applied the GPO with gpupdate/force, and then disconnect & connect again?

You can check the status of this setting with the set of resulting policies snap-in of MMC or see the group applied with gpresult/h report.html GPOs

Couldn't get to 10 Windows 7 Edition windows Home premium because the bitlocker should be disabled. How can I disable the bitlocker in windows 7 Home premium?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you can not upgrade to Windows 10 Windows 7 as your BitLocker should be disabled. When BitLocker is suspended, secure the TPM validation does not place and other authentication methods, such as the use of a PIN or USB key to unlock the operating system drive, are not applied. I suggest you refer to the following steps to disable the BitLocker Drive Encryption:

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click system and security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
    2. Find the drive on which you want that BitLocker Drive Encryption turned off, and click turn off BitLocker.

    3. A message appears, informing you that the drive is decrypted, and this decryption may take a long time. Click decrypt the drive to continue and turn off BitLocker on the drive.

By performing this procedure, you have decrypted the drive and removed BitLocker protection. You can now upgrade to 10 Windows upgrade.

  • PROBLEM WITH PC TURNING ITSELF & TYPING ISSUES

Hello Im having 2 problems with windows vista

one is lately my pc comes on in the middle of the nite and begins to scan... How can I prevent the it turn on?

I looked into the power opt and not find something in there to change

My other problem is typing... I could be typing this and look and the cursor is elsewhere on the page, or the letters I hit are all boggled in the sentence

I wrote Microsoft earlier last year and eventually replace the vista. This work of not... I have a Dell laptop inspiron with this problem

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

    (1) check the Task Scheduler to auto scan or a daily update of the antivirus and something similar programs. You must change the settings in the program not to wake the machine for this purpose.

    (2) this is usually due to the user thumbpads brushing the touchpad while typing. Many laptops have an option to disable the touchpad. For others, it allows you to go to the applet to Panel control and mouse and on the device Options tab, select the touchpad and click settings and check the box hide the cursor when typing. For some, just be aware of how this happens is enough to avoid it.

  • Cannot turn off the issue of jam and paper cartridge (both at the same time)

I have a HP Officejet 8600, running on a wireless home network.  The printer will not work.  We get two messages. 1. Introduction to jam, and I'm going through all the steps to clear paper, including the search for pieces of paper, as well as any leaves.  I found no paper, whole or in part anywhere in the printer.  2. at this point, I get a message that I have a problem with a printer (of ink, installed correctly, etc.) cartridge.  Simply replace us all cartridges, so I know that we are not out of ink.  However, when I opened the door to the area of printer cartridge, the cartridge does not move where I can check it out.  There's just right.  So I'm "stuck".  I don't know how to get the cartridge door to roll over so I can check!  I turned off the computer several times and tried to reset things, but nothing seems to work.  Any suggestions?

Followed - I turned off the printer.  Then opened the cartridge and reaches into the printer access door.  Without moving the cartridge door, I pressed each cartridge to make sure it was placed correctly.  Then, shut the door and back running the printer.  The printer seems to start correctly.  I then opened the door, the door-cartridge moved where I could access them normally.  I double checked that each cartridge is installed and closed the door.

At this point, everything seems to work properly.

  • Investigation of emergency BitLocker

Is there a way to have Bitlocker enabled on a PC, have the encrypted HD and configure Bitlocker to encrypt any device of storage connected to the computer but make an exception for a specific hardware category?

    Scenario:

Is it possible to configure an exception for that? or y at - it another option?

  • How can I remove BitLocker?

I can't find anywhere on my laptop, even to help to start looking for the menu and search in the control panel.

    Hello calebwendt,

    Thank you for the question!

I'm sorry to know that have problems you with Bitlocker. As I understand it, you must disable Bitlocker.

I need to ask you some questions to help you best.

    1. Why do you want to remove Bitlocker?

    2. when there are problems with the drive?

When you turn off BitLocker, you can either disable BitLocker temporarily or to decrypt the volume. Disable BitLocker allows TPM and other minor changes module changes the system. Decrypt the volume means that the volume will be entirely decrypted, and that all the keys are ignored. You must decrypt a computer before the operating system upgrade. Once a volume is decrypted, you must generate new keys through the encryption process again once, if you want to enable BitLocker.

    Before you start

    · You must be logged on as administrator.

    · The volume must be encrypted.

To turn off BitLocker Drive encryption

    (a) click Start, clickControl Panel, click Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.

    (b) from the BitLocker Drive Encryption page, find the volume on which you want BitLocker Drive Encryption goes off, and clickturn off BitLocker Drive Encryption.

    (c) what level of decryption do you want the dialog box, clickdisable BitLocker Drive Encryption or decrypt the volume as required.

    (d) by performing this procedure, you have disabled BitLocker or decrypted the operating system volume.

Answer to us if you are having problems with Bitlocker or any other issue of Windows, and I'd be happy to help you again and try to correct the problem as soon as possible.

    Good day!

  • Microsoft Surface, TPM and Bitlocker problems

I currently started to deploy Microsoft Surface Pro and I'm having problems with the TPM, Bitlocker and AD.

I followed this guide and my backup of Windows 7 machines very well.
    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd875529 (v = ws.10) .aspx

    Process:
Create the image Windows 8 Enterprise on Surface Pro #1
    Sysprep image
    Capture image using DISM
Deploy the Image for Surface Pro #2
Once the Surface Pro #2 out of Sysprep the TPM secure status is "the TPM module is ready for use with reduced functionality.
If I clear the TPM, the Surface will reboot and push me with an American Megatrends BIOS/UEFI "TPM Page" page.
    Text on the Page:
"A configuration change has been asked to turn them on, activate, delete, activate and enable the TPM module
This action erases and turn on TPM (Trusted Platform Module) computer
WARNING: This application will remove key stored in the TPM
Press F12 to activate, activate, delete, activate, and enable the TPM module
Press ESC to reject this change request and continue
Can I then clear the TPM, and it restores a State "the TPM module is ready for use.".
So when I go to turn on Bitlocker I get the message "require group policy settings that specify a recovery password before encrypting the drive.  Surface Pro #1 got out of Sysprep and backup is keys properly and nothing to enable Bitlocker necessary.  I was hoping that after clearing the TPM, Surface Pro #2 would be able to do the same thing, but it seems at some point, #2 is not key on AD backup.
Checking the attributes in Surface Pro #2 Ad Watch "msTPM-TpmInformationForComputer" is filled.  'msTPM-OwnerInformation' is not knowledgeable.

    Hi Phelptwan,

As you try to create Windows 8 Enterprise on Surface Pro images, I suggest you to report this issue in Windows 8 IT Pro TechNet Forums: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/home

    Thank you.

You can use the Bitlocker without a TPM, but in this case only, the BONE volume encryption is available.

  • BitLocker - encrypt - decrypt cycle after the replacement of the motherboard?

After replacing the motherboard of your laptop with BitLocker encryption, the system requires a recovery key. Once inside, connect us to the system as long as decrypt it administrator local to turn off BitLocker and, once finished, activate BitLocker.

This whole process of disabling and enabling BitLocker may take up to an hour to complete, during which the laptop can not be used by the user.

Is it there anyway that we can re - initialize BitLocker, after a motherboard replacement, without all the decrypt / encrypt process?
While the time that the system cannot be used is reduced to just a few minutes?

    Hi Dennis,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I am afraid that you cannot re - initialize the BitLocker after the replacement of the motherboard as the TPM secure is removed or changed. A TPM Module (TPM) is a chip that is integrated into a computer. It is used to store cryptographic information, such as encryption keys. Information stored on the TPM chip may be more secure from external software attacks and physical theft. BitLocker uses the TPM module to help protect the Windows operating system and user data and to ensure that a computer is not tampered with, even if it is left unattended, lost or stolen.

If your new motherboard does not have the required by the BitLocker TPM, you can refer to the section can I use BitLocker on an operating system without a TPM Reader? in the following article and follow the steps.
