TV on VGA?

* Noob here - please excuse my dumb questions. **

Hi, hoping you could help me with a simple question.

I have a Lenovo Edge E320. I also have an old CRT TV that does that (no HDMI etc.) RCA inputs.

Output VGA on my E320 is a kind of "TV-out" output in other words, if I buy a VGA RCA cable I will be able to connect my laptop to my old TV and get a picture? I think that some VGA connections are TV-out and others are not, but I don't know how to say.

Thank you very much for your time

C

No vga on the E320 does not work with the monitors simple vga to rca converter cable, you would need an active converter to get the right RCA signal.

You can use any DVI monitor DVI port directly or have any VGA monitor with the power that you adapter. A HDMI monitor might work with an adapter DVI to HDMI in a pinch, but HDMI tends to be more fickle.

  • How to connect my 23 "Cinema HD (DVI - D) to a VGA port?

I have a 23 "Cinema display HD display (2008) I'm trying to connect to a VGA port. According to my research, it seems that VGA and DVI - D are compatible, but I can't make it work. When I cycle the power on the computer as well display cycles, but I cannot get any video. I guess there is a problem with the adapter, and hoping that someone can recommend one that works?

A simple adapter won't work, you need a VGA to DVI converter, such as:

    http://www.MonoPrice.com/product?C_ID=101 & cp_id = 10114 & cs_id = 1011401 & P_ID = 8214 & have q = 1 & format = 2

Make sure that the VGA port is capable of 1920 X 1200 60 Hz.

  • Screen with VGA adapter resolution problem

When I connect the MacBook Air 13 (2016 10.11.3 running) to an external monitor via DVI, everything works well: automatically selects the optimal resolution for the external monitor, plus I have other choices of resolution, and everything is good. But when I connect via VGA, I can choose resolution 800 x 600, which is not only not optimal: it's awful.

I get this same problem with 2 different VGA adapters and 2 different monitors, a 16:9 and the other 4:3. (16:9 screen spans 800 x 600, so it looks even worse.)

This problem does not occur on MacBook Pro 13 (2011 also runs 10.11.3): VGA and DVI work very well, with selected automatically optimal resolutions, plus I have other choices of resolution.

No idea how to fix this on the MacBook Air? Or is MacBook Air paralyzed by nature in this way?

    Thank you.

Finally called Apple Support. Has worked with junior counsel, trying all kinds of things that did not work. After an hour of this, he handed me a Counsellor, who took me to the preference of views and had me select the "chipped" resolution key to with hold option key. It gave me a wide range of resolutions that had not been previously available, including the resolution that has ended up working real well. Phew!

  • MacBookPro: Œuvres VGA HDMI does not work

I try to get my Macbook Pro (mid-2012, 13 ") displayed on a LCD-projector screen.

Display port adapter and cable are working, because my IMac and my MacBook Air work with the latter and are displayed by the projector.

Strange: The MacBook Pro is displayed with a MiniDisplay Port to VGA, but not HDMI.

The projector LCD itself is correctly identified in the monitor preferences (see photo) but have no 'signal '.

I re-installed ElCapitan and did MSC and GBI according to the advice of apples.

  • Mini displayport to VGA

I have a late 2011 Macbook Pro, and I would like to connect it to my old PC monitor. I thought he was doing the mini display port to VGA and think that this could work. When I look at the ports on my laptop, I see a bolt of lightning, not the icon of the monitor that you see on the map. The adapter is compatible with my Macbook Pro?

    Thank you.

Thunderbolt is also port mini display with thunderbolt 1.0 and 2.0 (yours is 1.0). Mini display is actually former thunderbolt, but when the bolt of lightning 1.0 is released in 2011, it combined PCIe data and video output port, preventing the size and shape of the port of mini display days.  Yours was one of the first Mbps with Thunderbolt 1.0 because it was only released in 2011.

And, of course, Wikipedia has a nice to write this - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderbolt _ (interface) if you want to know.

  • Drivers VGA controller Bus SM et al.

    Nice day!

Almost a year ago, I bought a PC HP Pavilion a6252d Home (a model available in Southeast Asia). It came with Windows Vista Home. Not wanting to go through the headaches that a good number lived with Vista, I asked store technicians to replace the operating system with Windows XP Home Edition instead. After the purchase of a new copy of XP, I gave it to them and they made the arduous task to replace Vista by XP and load the drivers required for Windows XP. Finally, I loaded the office with Norton 360 to manage antivirus and pc maintenance tasks.

However, a month ago, I noticed that my computer has been stopped in itself - several times in a session. I brought it to the store and mentioned that it was probably a virus that caused the stop and I have to reformat the entire disk and technicians that it would be preferable that I replace my Norton 360 with AVG 8.0-it was free anyway.

After saving the files, I recently reformatted the drive, using my original XP copy and charged no matter what programs have been erased. Unfortunately, I found a number of missing device drivers.

    They are:

    • Video controller (VGA Compatible) with Device Instance ID PCI VEN_8086 & DEV_2772 & SUBSYS_2A57103C & REV_02\3 & 11583659 & 0 & 10
    • Controller Bus SM with Device Instance ID PCI VEN_8086 & DEV_27DA & SUBSYS_2A57103C & REV_01\3 & 11583659 & 0 & FB, and
    • VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller with the Deviceid PCI\VEN_1106 & DEV_3044 & SUBSYS_00000000 & REV_46\4 & CF81C54 & 0 & 18F0

I tried to look on the HP website for one of them, but as my desktop came with Vista and the site does not provide any options for the XP versions, I am now at a loss how and where to find these drivers.

    Can someone help me please?

    Thank you very much!

I have a MacBook Pro of the retina on OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 running. Previously, I could connect a previous MacBook Pro (late 2009) to an external VGA monitor. I was told on the Apple store I could use the mini display in a Flash port dongle to connect to a VGA cable, but when I tried this, the monitor could not get a signal. Thanks in advance.

This is a new driver for the video. I pretend to generally upgrade from the base drivers (video, sound, network cards, etc.) when new versions come out, because it can improve performance and stability. Graphics NVIDIA has a history eventful, to say the least, and they always try to get the right Vista drivers. It is a chapter for Microsoft and nVidia, two companies whose fortune fell somewhat in the last few years. Each new edition of the Vista nVidia drivers is a little better. It's OK to install it, I say.
