TVSU 5 on Win7 T61p SP1

Hello all Experts;

I am testing Win7 SP1 on a T61p 6458 series. Using VMWare Player. When you attempt to run the TVSU error message "there is no update for your system package" occurs. It stops at 17% in the phase of the online help. I checked on the previous fix for pre SP1 version and all the XML info is there but not in the folder where it should be.

It will not work in a virtual setting? All appreciated expertise.

Sincerely,

Donald

Hello

I have not tried it myself, but I think that if ThinkVantage System Update was run inside a virtual machine, it detects the "generic" virtualized hardware and not the hardware "native" hosts, so it can't detect without doubt not that it is running on a ThinkPad and the slightest error out when it will detect the hardware.

Kind regards

Aryeh Goretsky

  • Blue Screen Of Death - Win7 Pro SP1

    Hello

I have a laptop that keeps blue screening on me. It happens very random, as and when it chooses.

I can also trigger to start, if I touch the trackpad while it loads to the top.

I downloaded a piece of software to play the file minidump as another suggested Web page but I couldn't work out how to open the minidump file...

    Well done.

This BSOD involves the driver Synaptics Touchpad (perhaps now closer):

    Probably caused by: SynTP.sys

    And that fits your BSOD

The Atheros network driver is still looming too, but just to make an adjustment at the same time, so you will know what fixed it.

On the HP support page, there are a few reports of BSOD with Synaptics and (as usual) HP support said to resinstall your operating system from scratch, but it's a lot of work so see if a newer driver help.

There is a newer version of the Synaptics driver from the support page of HP you can download/install:

I doubt, there is no reason why you need to Office 2013 or 16.  The vast majority of my clients use the 2010 version and some still use version 2000 with no problems at all.

Try to remove one of the panels of the memory and see if the problem persists.  If this is the case, put it back in and delete the other to see if they then too.  If one of them does not demonstrate the problem, then the other is a problem.

  • Win7 SP1 - "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller" does not start now

After I installed Win7 ultimate SP1 fine, I've now that in the Device Manager for the "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller" device: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might be installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or maybe it's a malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

Has found the solution on another site.

In Device Manager, click the Standard PCI enhanced USB host controller that shows an error, just was two more separate the two display errors on mine, choose to uninstall, both. Then click Action - Scan for hardware changes at the top, Windows reinstalls them both and has done so well here for both.

  • A clean installation of Win7 Pro 64 Bit OS SP1 maintains the search for updates. (Error 0 x 80070005 windows update)

Hi, I recently formatted my HD and clean installed with an older version of Win7 Pro SP1 x 64 OS, I more than a week now looking online for help, but nothing is. Windows Update appears to hang "search for updates". I don't presume that my Pc is virus free because of a clean install, so I'm not sure that Microsoft stopped providing updates for older versions of windows or not. I also tried to upgrade to OS 64-bit win10 everything works fine with the installation until it reaches "search for updates" which also hangs and does not download updates, I tried Microsoft stand-alone install also but who doesn't either. I also tried running "Microsoft Genuine Diagnostics Tool" results are lower. I also tried to reset the Windows Update components by running the Fixit on the Microsoft Web site and found a windows "0x80070005" error code also known as "access denied." Something to do with registry permissions I think. A boot minimum, then run the Microsoft fixit would fix the issue im having with windows update.

  • Windows Update does not work after load Win7 SP1 Ultimate OS fresh 800700E err

    Hello

This has never happened to me, but I've just loaded Win7 Ultimate SP1 on a laptop, active. I can't get any Wu at all!

I do not have the additional languages, I tried the troubleshooter of WU (a few times now), I tried to stop services: msiserver, ad etc., BITS and wuauserv and then rename C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution.old and do the same thing to catroot2 in \windows\system32.

I installed IE11 and it appeared to install its own updates, but beyond that, I have been unable to execute WU...

Deflectors - someone can suggest good link on hidden files in C:\ which WU to work?

If anyone has any ideas in advance thanks

Follow these steps: set the automatic update search to "never check for updates" and then restart. Download and install KB3102810

  • SP1 for Vista

I recently had to restore my pc to factory default and now used to install service pack 1 for vista. It keeps cycling he finished and then watch again he must run the sp1. I can't switch to win7 if sp1 for vista will not install correctly. What can I do to remedy so the (sp1) update installs correctly?

    Hello

Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

It will tell you also here which SP, if any, you have installed.

Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, installation of SP1 first if it is not already installed.

  • Win7 gadgets (sidebar) slow and intensive CPU lately, for no apparent reason

In recent days, all my Win7 Gadgets react very slowly; The Process Explorer and Task Manager indicate that SIDEBAR. Among the consequences: fast battery drain and the unnecessary fan noise.

So far I have tested the following workaround solutions, without success:

    • Out all the gadgets / reload one by one
    • kill the process from the sidebar / restart the Panel gadgets
    • Restart the PC
    • run with Avira AV disabled
    • run without internet access
    • run without connected devices (wireless, USB, etc...)
    • remove the settings.ini and cache in %localappdata%\microsoft\Windows Sidebar (suggested in other threads on such responses)

I have a few third-party gadgets, each of them has worked perfectly so far (and none have been updated these last time).

I can't think of any change in my system lately (software, drivers, etc.), which could have caused this.

Murder sidebar.exe immediately pushes the CPU counters to zero. As soon as I open the Panel of gadgets or load any of the built-in gadgets one or a third party, the problem starts.

Win7/64 SP1 and Avira Antivirus are completely up to date.

BIOS and drivers are up-to-date (precision M4700)

    Thanks for any advice.

Gadgets have proved to be insecure long time. Should have uninstalled all the.

  • Images not be loading not or that they load with errors.

I bought a new pc a few weeks there, since then images do not load correctly or not loading not. Most of the time, it happens with images hosted on imgur.com but happened a few times with other hosts too.

It seems to be a Firefox problem, because the images appear fine on Chrome & IE. Also, it's weird because sometimes I can't see a picture, but if I try a few hours later I can see perfectly.

A few examples, the original and how I see them:

I tried to disable all the addons, but I always get errors. I use Firefox on Win7 Ultimate SP1 x 64 28.0.
Excuse my bad English and thanks in advance.
