two editors working on the same project on fcp 7: workflow question

Hi all!

I am new to fcp (I'm more familiar with media deal) and I'll edit a project that has already been worked on FCP.

shot mainly in 7 d over a long period of time, the whole material was converted to prores 422 format and is now about 15 TB of hard drive space. the project has been "divided" into several fcp projects (say that each project covers a period of shooting, and then there are several other who only have changes).

I would like to be able to work in parallel with other chronologies, editor-in-Chief and Exchange.

My idea is to recompress the projects that correspond to each period of shooting (it's where are the main elements) in prores proxy format and try to reconnect with modifications to those projects. in this way I intend to gather all the material in a 5 TB harddrive and I guess that the time I get to the other editor will reconnect easily. This hypothesis is correct? any ideas?

Reissue of links, it's a matter of getting your labelling may file storage to match, if you do not change the actual disks, then it should be easy, if you have a single folder renamed path, because it is on a different drive, which quickly rebuilt too.  Relating to raw images.  Once you begin to break things down or work with proxy images, it becomes much more complicated.  I made the mistake of building a project larger than that, with sequences RED proxy files, with the same name in different folders.  What a nightmare to purge old proxies of the final edit (not the name of the product).  Now work with strips of first generation full resolution will work until you need a handful, then you're back in brute.

Merge a calendar works well but the initial transfer of a project to tends to screw up.  Save after each keystroke, seriously.

    My recommendation is that if your 'project' is the creation of a course or a number of course, then you should be modularising it so that there will be a CPTX file for each module.  No two authors can work on the same file CPTX at the same time. But if you have all of the project files saved in a repository check-in-check-out of a certain type, then you can control access as you wish.  Each author will have to check the project file, that they work, download it to the hard drive of their own PC and check it after registration and closing of Captivate.  Under no circumstances try to have authors working or access project on the network files. It's asking for trouble with file corruption.

    Another precaution to take is to have all authors use the same directory for the working files structure on their PC.  These files should be ideally NOT in their own profile folders My Documents because then the paths may not be the same.

    You're updated for first Pro CC 20141 (8.1)? If I understand correctly, you can open sequences of other contributors in the media browser, and as long as the clips already exist in your project, you should get no duplicates.

    I am writing a distributed application that runs on a PC and a CompactRIO. There are a few data structures and functions of comfort (typedefs and screws) I want to share between them. What is the best way to do? A LVLIB is suited for this purpose?

    I currently somewhat anime items shared on the 'My Computer' target. However, when I change my code, I sometimes click on "synchronize with other instances of the application.     Actually, I just discovered I can "include explicitly" the same control/VI in different targets, and LabVIEW will not see it as a conflict.

    To answer your question on the use of platforms: Yes! Our team strives to make sure that if you are working on Android and iOS, your project will be supported regardless of what platform/device you started on. If you start a project on your Android phone, it will be automatically available on your iPad and vice versa. You can send your project to Premiere Pro since both platforms as well.

I am received using a camera by using "Camera Grab vi", but I can't make it work with 2 cameras, I use the flat sequence and 2 "Camerra Grab vi: with particular camera in a sequence, but each time when I run the program I get only pic of a camera, its seems a camera dominates the other.»

    Looks like you are using the same reference at the same time grabbing the camera. The two camera snaps happen but the second camera clamp is written on the first so it seems alone is slam. Try to run the VI executiong highlighted arbitrary mode (select icon icons four bulb to the right of the button run on the schema). This will allow you to see the data stream. In order to get both of these Snap you'll need separate references. You can try to watch one of our examples in the example Finder OR give you some direction (LabVIEW > help > find examples > Browse tab > Input and Output material > IMAQdx > high level > Snap.vi). You can break the two cameras at the same time if you just copy this code and double of the code.
    (Note: If you change the examples, always save as copy in another location so that you do not save on the packed example)

    I'll just try to rephrase what Simon and Bika have already said, but otherwise it's maybe a little clearer.

    The BlackBerry smartphone does not load two classes that have the same name.  Of the same name, in other words the package and class name.  If you have a PersistentData class in the com.myorg.testapp1 package, as well as in the com.myorg.testapp2 package, then here is therefore not the same thing, even if the class name is the same.

    However for process objects in PersistentStore, the same class should be used.  So even though the two classes PersistentData in testapp1 and testapp2 were the same, the BlackBerry only would leave one of them extract the data.

    So to store data in PersistentStore which is used by the applications of two (or more), you should use a common (shared) class.  An easy option is to use standard RIM provided classes such as vector and String.  But that can make life a bit difficult.

    The simplest option is to share classes between applications.  This can be done easily in the JDE.

    Step 1: You create a project that is testapp1 and another is testapp2.

    Step 2: Then you create a third project of the library, which provides the object that will be stored in PersistentStore (and of course, this might have any other components shared as well).  Let's say this project is in the com.myorg.shared package.  Then com.myorg.shared we PersistentData class, she object that is persistent.

    Step 3: You are doing the project two testapp dependent on the com.myorg.shared library project, just the dependencies of the project

    Step 4: You import com.myorg.shared. * classes in testapp classes that use data from PersistentStore.

    I presume that you can do this kind of thing in Eclipse, but I don't him did not.

    Once you understand this, then you can create library files that are in independent work spaces, so that you can maintain testapp1, testapp2 and share completely separated.  But is not too far for this explanation.

    But in short, you do not add the same class for two projects, you make sure that the projects share the same class.  To achieve this, have three projects, two applications and a library.

    I am a first Pro CS5.5 project. This is a tutorial how-not - to the that I use as an example of project to get myself started in CS5.5 AE with the body.

    Now... between the clips I want to first pro to show screens as "Lesson 1: when you don't...' then a video clip, then ' lesson 2: when you... don't ', then another clip video example." Etc...

    However, it would be nice if these screens of text between the two were animated. So I am doing a project in AE called "Lesson1", save it, just to make the text lively between the two.

    Your workflow is a bit wonky. Here's the right way to use the AE projects within a timeline of the Organization:

    1. Select the clips you want to process in After Effects
    2. Right-click on any of the selected clips and select replace with After Effects Composition
    3. AE opens, save the project file, and then change the composition created with Dynamic Link.
    4. Do not close AE.
    5. Repeat for as many clips you need to treat in AE.

    It is always better to end up with an AE project incorporated into a chronology that integrated a lot of AE projects. I guess the crash is a dynamic link is trying to access several projects at the same time. Dynamic links can handle a handful of compositions far better that he can manage a handful of projects in the same timeline.

    So far I have worked individually to create a help file. But now, I have generated a help file for a project which consists of 5 modules...   • Trigger two FPGA instances at the same time

    I have a basic FPGA code that transmits the bits of data on a serial (RS-485) bus, the code is written so that it expects in the first State of a machine to States in a single-cycle timed loop.  After a certain trigger, he begins to read a FIFO containing data and sends the data on a line of Tx.  It does this until all bits are send and then it goes back to the first State to wait for the next trigger.  The relaxation is necessary because windows must fill out first before the FPGA FIFO can start sending.

    I need two instances of this code runs, because I have two buses of com (one is redundant).  So I use the FPGA code as a Subvi and I wrote a main FPGA vi to call two separate instances of the Subvi in parallel.  A regular window vi wrote on the FIFO for bed FIFO for Rx and Tx.  No problems so far.

    The thing is I start two transmissions in 200nS of each other (Yes, nanoseconds).  Windows will write two FIFO in parallel, but the timing is 4uS apart, too long.  I tried implementing a Boolean flag in the Subvi FPGA, but windows can not write directly on the control of Subvi.  FPGA won't allow (the Write function is grayed out).  I tried to use a FIFO for a flag, but the problem is a race condition.  One of the instances is first read FIFO and he destroy.  The other can't read.  I need a common trigger point to be used by the two instances of Subvi.

    My final solution was to use a memory in the Subvi FPGA and digital control in the main FPGA vi.  Windows write in numerical order, it may because the control is in the main FPGA vi.  Inside the main FPGA, I run a timed loop that looks for digital to be zero.  If so, it writes the value into the location of the memory used by the Subvi FPGA.  After awhile, the principal wrote a zero back to memory to prevent the Subvi is restarted, as well as to write a zero for digital to reset.  This repeats, waiting for windows to write in digital again for the next transmission.

    I had to do it this way because sometimes I want to pass on the bus, and sometimes just one or the other.  Numeric values are used to determine which to pass on.  Now, the transmissions are starting to almost exactly at the same time, 1 or 2 nanoseconds apart.  But the trigger process seems very silly to me.  I was wondering if there is a better solution.  I'm pretty new to FPGA.

    There are some advantages to the use of two FIFO on your approach.  First of all, you don't have the change of register for the memory location.  Secondly, we should not worry that VI is responsible for compensation to the memory location, or do, you run the risk that one of your subVIs run twice, or not at all, if the memory is not erased at the right time.  Perhaps most important, you'll save yourself space on the FPGA because you will not need arbitration - the additional code that is added when two parts of the FPGA try to access the same resource at the same time.  In your case, both instances of the Subvi access the memory block at the same time, so the FPGA compiler adds additional logic to avoid conflict.  If only read you the memory block in one place and just write it in one place (reading and writing can be different loops where subVIs) there is no need for arbitration.  Using two FIFOs, you can keep independent and avoid the conflict resolution code.  See the help for the "arbitration" for more details.

  • two or more of the same connected printer?

    Got my new OfficeJet Pro 8630 a few days ago and installed on Windows 7 x 64 as a seamless wireless network printer.

    Last night, I noticed the 'install the device driver' dialog box pop up Windows. Since then, the HP utility 8630 informs me that I have 'two or more of the same printer connected' and asked me to choose:

    "HP Office Jet Pro 8630 (network)", and

    "HP9D41EB (HP Officejet Pro 8630.

    The first shows all the data that must be there when the HP utility appears (print, scan, fax); the second shows only the news 'Print '.

    In the window 'Printers and devices' CP, there is always only ONE printer, illustrated by default, named "HP9D41EB (HP Officejet Pro 8630".

    How can I get rid of the bad? I don't want to put my Windows Setup through uninstall and reinstall everything. I saw messages on this topic with different printers HP in Win 7 since at least 2011. Y at - it an explanation and a solution?

    It's what worked:

    I noticed that the name of the printer in the Windows "Devices and printers" was one of the two who gave information "printing" in the HP utility, so I clicked and was removed in "Devices and printers", leaving no HP printer at all.

    Then when I went back to the HP utility, it showed NO printer, but had returned to "connect A new printer. I did and it works very well - only one instance that shows the print, fax and scan as it should.

    Looks like Windows itself wants to detect the printer via a different driver.
