Two standard user accounts

I bought a new computer with windows 7 Home Edition premium, the company put me as an administrator. I want two standard user accounts so at startup, either myself or my husband can go to their screen. How is that possible when I am currently the administator? Or how can I have both accounts come and we can decide what screen that is on the computer. I don't want the computer to go directly on my monitor as an administrator, I want the one that came on the computer to decide as we had on windows XP. Thank you

Create two accounts, one for yourself, for your husband. Both accounts will be displayed on the logon screen. If in doubt, how to create accounts, click Start, click Help, and then search for help on "account".

    Hello

Unfortunately, I came across a problem which I think is due to administrative privleges, or lack thereof.

Currently I am able to connect and print to my printer a HP Officejet 6600, but I am unable to use the scan function.

On the printer after selection "Scan" and then "computer" it displays "No registered computer" and on my laptop after start-> all programs-> HP-> HP Officejet 6600-> HP Scan I get the error message "HP Officejet 6600." not found

I ran the "HP print and scan" utility of diagnosis and he told me that I needed to install the software package full of features to use the scan function.

My problem is the standard user account that I can't install the software.

I am however able to solve this problem in the administrator account. Can I install the full package of features or even using the Installation Wizard of the software to install & to add/install a new printer (wireless).

    So, here's my question:
Does anyone know what local security policy or group policy I have to modify to allow users Standard fix this in their account?

I tried this solution and it doesn't work:

Is Q: there anyway to give some sort of administrative rights with regard to the installation of printers on standard user accounts?

A: your only choices are the two that I mentioned above.  Disable the standard/UAC user account or run as administrator installation files.  If those who do not work, then check with MS to see what you need to do to get these working wrapper running as it should.

Q: but to my knowledge, this command deletes all the benefits of the daily duties with a standard account of operation?

R: you got it.  This is the world of the Administration Windows for you.

Q: How can I get a standard user account to perform the installation from the CD from HP?

    A: same as mentioned above.

To my knowledge, anytthing would also require a 3rd party application to serve as a local application broker.  The broker assented request to install and can be configured to evevate some applications/processes to run as administrator by providing credentials of the administrator to the BONE.  For example, we are currently investigating a product called Power Broker to accomplish this task for us on the Win 8 + OS.

Theres no doubt, the accounts of users of STDS are a pain in the thigh for admins.  Everyone needs to find a way to manage the rights that they give to their users.  HP cannot help you until find you the part of MS. user rights

  • How can I give some privileges to a standard user account that they can access some programs without being stopped for the admin password?

I have two accounts on my Windows Vista computer:

(1.) an account admin and one
    (2.) a standard user account.

I would like to give to the standard user account privileges, so they can access programs like spybot, without needing an admin password (he asked generally the password update spybot).

I have read the menu permissions by right-clicking the spybot .exe file, click the securities tab and the Advanced button.
I tried to give full control to the standard user, but still maintains he ask for an admin password.

is there someone who can provide assistance so that certain programs accessible by standard account, but others not?

    Any help is appreciated,
    Thank you.

    Hi Hardik Mehta,

Try the steps next to the applications you want to only allow or shortcut to run with administrator privileges

    1. navigate to the location of the .exe file programs and right click on the file .exe or right click on the shortcut to launch the program.

    2. Select Properties.

    3. click on the Advanced button.

    4. check run as administrator in the advanced properties box.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Standard user account with no parameters

I met only two computers that were unable to keep the settings. The first had problems displaying a particular site for a long time, and I was unable to discover the cause until I loaded another program that requires a record of the settings. This particular Web page requires some changes to internet security options, so I realized that internet options have been returning to default every single reboot. Because I know that internet options are saved in the registry, I began to seriously consider a new installation of Windows. Before doing so, I logged into the administrator account, only to find out that she had no problems taking these parameters. I changed the user account (which had been established for the type of standard user) to an account administrator, and not only he keep the new settings, he also recalled all previous configurations, I did. When a second computer has begun to do that, I tried this fix immediately, and it worked.

So, my question is this: is this behavior of design? I mean, I understand why access to the register would not be allowed in a standard user account, but if the system cannot change the registry on behalf of this user, and standard user accounts are practically unusable. I mean, I couldn't even standard user accounts to fit on a home page, not to mention several advanced settings. I also manage a XP machine that has a standard user account. (so far), which had none of these questions. If it's not designed behavior, is there a solution?

Wow! What a ridiculously condescending response. Thank you for that. I guess I should be used to this treatment of Microsoft; It's the kind of your norm.

Srimadhwa response was not condescending - it was simply a standardized response obviously resulting from Srimadhwa not fully read your initial post. From my experience, you get much better results politely point out surveillance instead of lashing out with a heavy dose of sarcasm. After all that it is a service that MS provides for free. Things would be a little different if you've agreed to pay for the advice.

  • The standard user account is prompted to create a password every 30 days.

Original title: Standard (Windows 7) user accounts Password Protection

I have an administrator account which is not password protected.  My wife has a standard user account is not password protected.  However, approximately every 30 days Windows asking my wife to change her password.  She can't go without creating a new password I have then to remove from his user account.  The process repeats every month.  It doesn't to my account, only his own.  What can I do to stop Windows to require a new password on the account of my wife when she is not protected in the first place?

Microsoft seems to be to lean back in his attempt to make it difficult for people to create without expiry of passwords. Here is how to solve the problem:

1 log in under an administrator account.
    2. click on the start planet.
    3. type the three letters cmd in the search box.
    4. press on Ctrl + Shift + Enter
    5. click on "run as Administrator".
    6. type the following command:
    NET accounts /MaxPWAge: Unlimited {Enter}
Do you have just two accounts on your machine: it is not a good idea. Take a look at this current thread to see what evil trouble this can help you in.

When I try to log in under a standard user account, it shows a window screen then quickly shows a logging off the screen.  I don't want to lose any information on the user account, since it holds all of my apllication of college girls and correspondence.  Before it begins to spoil, I used Malwarebyte s to the clean computer and used the avg pc tuneup utility also clean my pc.  Can anyone help?

    You must do immediately:

    1. Buy one or two USB 4 or 8 GB flash drives. They cost about $10 each.
    2. Logging in as an administrator account.
    3. Back up files of your daughter on the flash drive, then take the stick to the machine from a friend and do a few checks to ensure that you can open the files. It is difficult to understand how you could take the risk and just storing them in one place. I see a dozen scenarios in which you could lose the lot in less than a second.

  • How to run a program as an administrator on a standard user account without be prompted for the password

I have this software that doesn't work correctly than if you run it as administrator.  When you run it as administrator on the standard user account, it asks you the password.  How you turn off the prompt for password for that one software only? Matt,

Since you don't have a Vista Home Premium, I found another article that describes a way to get around it to make a registry change.

    The following Web site:
    http://www.eCoustics.com/PCW/HOWTO/140134

Vista Home Premium is not the Group Policy Editor. To make the changes in this version, you must change the registry. Before making any changes to the registry, back it up following the instructions in "block Cookies for spying, but keep the most useful" (scroll down to the area of blue text at the bottom of the page).

With your backup of the registry in place, click Start, type regedit and press ENTER. In the tree on the left pane, navigate to Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. With the icon system selected in the left pane, double-click on ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin in the right pane. Change the data value to 0, then click on OK. You should see the effect immediately (no restart required).

Not sure if this will help, but thought that I have it send your way.

    Thank you

  • I got my windows vista ultimate administrator standard user account.

I got my windows vista ultimate administrator standard user account. Now whenever I try to update or install "User Account Control" is constantly asking me to (type an administrator password, and then click OK). The problem is that I can't do this because OK is disabled (grayed out) and no place to type the admin password or the other. How to restore this administrator account or even to enable the local administrator account by default here?

If you have another administrator user account on your computer then log in and change the account to standard user for the administrator account.   If not, then follow the steps from the link and check if that helps: how to use system restore to log on Windows 7 or Windows Vista when you lose access to an account http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940765/en-us

  • Cannot add blank screen Standard user accounts

Hello.  I recently added a Standard user in Vista Business.  When I logged in this account, he said it was "Preparing Desktop" for a few minutes then indicates that she has been put in place personal settings in Microsoft Windows Mail 7 and produces an error message saying "Windows mail could not be started because MSOE." DLL cannot be initialized. "Note that I don't even use Windows Mail.  I clicked ok and it sat for a few minutes and then gave me a blank screen.  Now if I connect to this user account, it just goes straight to a white screen.  If I change the rights of a Director, it works fine.  Back to a standard user, and I get a blank screen.  I hit CTRL + ALT + DELETE to the blank screen and run explorer.exe but that does nothing.  I started in safe mode and it does not work.  I ran make System File Checker (SFC) and it found no errors.  I restored back a few weeks, but that has not helped.  This can be a problem for a long time that I have never tried to add another user before.  I have the same problem if I turn on the guest as a standard user account.  Admin account all the works and any standard account does not work.  I searched the forums and cannot find a solution for this problem.

I'd appreciate really a few ideas on how to solve this problem.
    Thank you

    Hello

I suggest you try the following steps to refine the question:

Step 1: Disable security software, follow the steps mentioned below

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Important: Activate security software once everything is done.

Step 2: Check with another standard user profile

If you do not have a different user account, you will need to create a (see link below).  If everything works fine with a different user profile, you can infer that the user profile is damaged, click on the link to find out how to solve this problem.

    Create-a-user account

Difficulty of a corrupted user profile

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/fix-a-corrupted-user-profile

Step 3: A scanner online for any threat and try to correct
