U940-108 satellite starts from USB pendrive

My laptop does not start by Satellite U940-108 USB key. I tried all USB connetors, I also change the boot order in the BIOS but still continue to start windows 8

Proceed to a complete stop and after starting your laptop press F12 again to enter the BOOT menu.

There you should find USB boot option.
I assume you have created a USB recovery media so that media can be started on this path and you can install the recovery image on this path.

  • Boot from usb pendrive on Qosmio G20

Hi, my name is Gregorio, I have a toshiba qosmio G20, and I would like to know how to start via USB pendrive which I installed a linux operating system, but I can't be able to run it. I m trying to do that, because I Don t know how to create a partition in a raid system and install linux in this partition, so my alternative is a live USB. Thank you.

Madam, Sir, I do not think that your G20 is able to boot from a USB device. This kind of shoe is supported by the qosmio G40/45 G50/55 models.
As you can see when turning on your qosmio you will see an or 2 HARD drive, a floppy disk, a cd/dvd player and LAN. In the latest qosmio model you can also see a USB... then I think that we must build another partition on your HARD drive.
Sorry for my English (I know a few)!

  • Can I start Satellite M70 from USB

Is it possible to boot a USB key PSM70e?

    Hello

As far as I know the BIOS of the M70 supports booting from USB FDD drive.
This means that you could start the M70 with a boot disk.
Boot from USB HDD or USB flash stick does not appear to be supported.

  • Keyboard U940-108 satellite

Hi, I just bought a Toshiba Satellite U940-180 ultrabook, and in the description of the product, in the shop and on the official Web site of the product, it is said that Satellite U940-108 has a _____ * backlit keyboard * _, for use in the night without light.

  • EliteBook 820 G2: Start from USB - does not take into account my choice and starts hard disk anyway!

    Hi all!

I just got a new EliteBook 820 G2 and I'm trying to dual boot with Ubuntu. I have it on a USB hard drive that I used to install successfully on a couple other machines (dual-boot a Lenovo T430 and also on a desktop AMD new construction). I cannot go into the options to start with Esc or F9 and the disk appears, but there just ignores it and goes straight to Windows.

I don't have the partitioned external drive, then perhaps that he is not the right one? Seems funny that he would have worked on two other systems, but perhaps a quirk of the HP BIOS? I don't have a simple USB key with sufficient capacity to hold the installer, but do you think I should try to borrow one for that?

For any help or suggestions appreciated!

    See you soon,.

    Joe.

    Hi, Joe:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to go into the BIOS and see if there is a setting to auto USB for USB3 ports.

If it is set to USB3, you cannot start normally port USB3.

USB3 can be the default setting.

The auto adjustment allows the ports work as two USB3 ports when you run windows, and the USB3 drivers are loaded or USB2 ports when not in Windows (for example, when you need to boot from a USB flash drive).

  • NB100 - cannot boot from USB pendrive

    Hello

I wanted to try out Ubuntu netbook remix, so I downloaded and it loaded in my key USB of SB after making the md5sum test. Then I fixed on the boot order so the usb port would start first and rebooted my Toshiba NB100 with the pen drive inserted. When I start my netbook the first screen where you can press F12 and F2 for BIOS freeze for about 2 min then start windows.

I use a Kingston DataTraveler 4 GB USB key, I don't think it's the USB because as its bootable on my other laptop.

    Thank you.

    Hello!

This only happens with the USB or without USB too?

Have you tried another USB key? At the moment for me it sounds like the USB key is not compatible with laptops or isn't working properly.
Can you please try another USB key?

    Good bye

  • HP 15-af131dx: laptop does not start from usb flash drive

    Hello:

A few suggestions you can try... If they do not, unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions.

    1. go into the BIOS and enable mode inherited, that must disable secure boot.

2 boot from a USB 2 of the laptop ports.  It won't boot from a port USB3.

  • x 61 does not start from usb flash drive

I don't know that I did several times before, but for some reason any my x 61 does not allow me to boot to a usb flash drive, I use normally to install the operating system.

Any suggestions what might be wrong and what I could do about it?

I should mention that USB is enabled in the BIOS and usb flash drive install works on other computers.

Update seems to be an incompatibility with wintoflash, I used the Microsoft DVD/USB tool and it starts the flash player and finished the installation. Strangely the wintoflash installation worked fine in a HP dv3000.

    Consider this resolved.

Wow I never saw your post until that earlier.

Situation is resolved in the first post

    # With all these versions of Windows, the installation is

I just bought a Satellite CL10-B-100 (PSKVEE - 00300CG 6) with only 8.1 Windows preinstalled. I need to boot from a linux live usb - without success now. Any suggestions on how to start from USB Linux?

    Good day

    C.

    Hello

Most modern distributions should be able to start using the UEFI.
However, you forgot to mention what distro you are using.

I assume that your pressing F12 at startup to get the start menu, verify that your key is recognized and select to start him?
Which means that it fails? No not at all, start it begins to start but fall into problems... ?

    Please clarify the situation.

I could already start from USB MSC boot and secure boot OFF selection in the system bios. Since I've updated my bios of 1.3 to 1.4 I can't boot from a USB key. I can boot from the CD, but not USB.

    Any ideas?

Are you trying to use USB bootable recovery media that you created?
Try to set the BIOS to the default settings, restart the machine and press F12 at startup.
Peripheral USB appears here as boot device?

When I do this on my computer (USB SanDisK) I can see entry SanDisk under USB option.

  • I can't find a way to start Satellite A300 of USB

    Hello

    I need some advice please.
    I have recently updated from a satellite A210 - 1 c 4 to a Satellite A300-1BZ.
The satellite launched from USB without problem.

How to set the A300 to boot from USB?

To boot from a USB on this machine, you only have to set the stick in a slot USB, power of the machine upward and when the Toshiba logo appears, press F12.
Then a menu similar to BACK appears when the USB can be selected to boot from.

    Hey Super,

I m not owner of the Satellite A350D, but you can check yourself:

Attach a USB bootable or stick and the power of your laptop. Press the F12 key to enter the BIOS boot menu. If your laptop computer is able to boot from USB, you can select the attached USB startup device.
