UAC Vista Windows won't allow me to install a programme!

I am trying to install the following program: frontdesk-install-AU - prod.exe.

Every time the error message I get is: 'Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. May not permissions to access you the item.

I tried to run the program as administrator.
I disabled UAC, rebooted the computer and tried again, but I get the same message.

Any suggestions please?

Right-click on the setup.exe > run as admin.

  • Security won't allow me to install a download

I have parental controls installed on the computer of my nephew and I am trying to install a game for him, Minecraft, I bought.

I got the game downloaded, but when I go to my downloads and click the icon to open the download and install it, a window will appear with a red "X" saying that settings admin will not allow the configuration of this because of the parental control. I had two of my nephews, the same game for their computers and thought I had the exactly same settings on each computer, but one that enabled me to turn off the parents settings and install the game, but the other does not.

I disabled the settings parents, even deleted the account for this computer from my parental account, but it still won't allow me to install, even after that I restarted the computer after turning off and remove the parents on their computer settings.

Is there something that I am missing? What can cause this error?

You need permission to administrators? Here is how you get it... giving all users the permission to do what is the order of the day you choose.

First search for the item. then right click and go to properties.

    Go to the Security tab.

    Click Advanced.

go to the owner tab to see if you are the owner.

then click on change if you are not.

enter among consumers, or choose your account and put a check mark on replace the existing owner...

then close all tabs by clicking ok

then reopen the properties and go to settings and go to the permissions tab.

    Click on change permissions

    Click on Add.

type in users, or of your account, and click on the name to check.

Click ok. Click on the first box saying: full control, and then click ok.

Now you have all permissions to access the item, and you are the owner of it.

alternative: If you know the password that you have set up your account, then the user name is the user name you set up, and the password is the password you set up.

My HP Pavilion a6400f had problems years ago I installed Ubuntu Linux. Now, getting fed up with linux, I want Windows Vista back. I still have the OEM key. The HP recovery disk allows me to install WIndows?

The recovery set supplied with the computer should find the default computer.  Probably will not even need to enter the key.

Don't forget to patch (probably manually) with SP1 and SP2 after you're done.  Then download the updates (MUCH) released after that.

  • Disable the UAC in VISTA window

    Hello

How to disable UAC in Windows Vista using LabVIEW Control window?

I did this VI (see attached). This VI works, if I have manually disabled the UAC window (regedit: "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System - EnableLUA = 0 [DWORD]) of the control panel or regedit.

If I run my VI on a computer that has ON UAC, I can't open the registry key. Although, if I manually go to regedit and
change the variable windows EnableLUA to zero and restart the computer.
Then, I'll be able to control this LabVIEW registry key.

    Is
It's kind around to disable UAC only with LabVIEW. This means,
is it possible to change the EnableLUA variable Windows when I
    previously, I have UAC running?

    Thank you

    Hi JPLO,

If you run your VI as long as limited or in admin approval mode user, I expect not to be able to disable admin approval mode. Try right-clicking on the LabVIEW icon in the Start Menu and select "run as Administrator" and then run your VI.

  • Windows updates won't allow me to change the settings.

Running Vista on a new Satellite from Toshiba. Updates Windows refuses to allow me to change the settings; It is set to download/update automatically, but I want to see and select updates. When I click on this box, then ok, the authorization window returns. I click 'ok', but there is nothing else that a flicker of the cursor runs. Nothing else comes up, and if I have to cancel the window updates, it is up to the automatic update. I am the only user and have always been administrator.

It's too late to install MSE or any other antivirus application now.

You will find information about any Recovery hidden partition manufacturer support pages.

If you use the disks you created, you would use the OS disk first then the drivers disk.

  • Damaged HARD disk, need to reinstall windows... but I had installed the Vista upgrade 7!

    Hello

A few months ago, my computer (HP Pavilion a6700f) decided that he no longer wanted to live. The hard drive is corrupted and I could never get anything from him. I tried many ways, sent him, put it in another computer... it is as if there is never nothing about it initially. (Sad because I stupidly did not save my content). I have come to terms with her being gone, and I'm now looking to reinstall and start over.

I tried to run the install disc and it won't go to the point where she wants to give me drivers... my question is, because I had updated the computer to its original operating system Vista to Windows 7 when they offered the free update, I have to reinstall windows Vista, and then upgrade again? Or it will allow me to install drivers windows 7? Also, is there somewhere where I can download the installation for my specific computer disks? I used the upgrade disk to reinstall, but he wants than signed drivers.

I know that sounds a little crazy, but I want to fix it than to buy a new HARD drive. I have my windows for Vista key... Although I don't know if there was another key for the upgrade to Windows 7, as on the package or something... like I did that more.

I hope this makes sense to someone! Thanks in advance!

As you have no recovery disk, you will have to order them from service to HP customers in your country if they are still available for a nominal charge:

    http://welcome.HP.com/country/W1/en/support.html

If you decide to replace the hard drive, to have one that is not less than 500 GB SATA 7200 RPM like the one you have now.
