Unable to access Wi - Fi on Satellite C855

Hello

Yesterday, I bought a new C855 - 29M and so far I can't access the internet using the Wi - Fi connection. I tried by pressing F12, ensuring the flight mode is off, ignition and extinction of the router and nothing. The internet on the computer works when connected to the router via a cable, but the extent of the Wi - Fi nothing.

Any help?

Thanks in advance

Move mouse pointer to the lower corner on the right and click Settings > airplane mode.
Then, at the top, you will see option networks. With the help of the mouse the value off airplane mode and after should be a few seconds available WLAn networks.

Your WLAN is listed here?
If not check the router settings and do not forget the option WLAN is enabled on your router.

  • Satellite C855 - 12K - BIOS password incorrect supervisor

    Hello

I own a Toshiba Satellite C855 - 12K and there is a problem with the BIOS supervisor password. Once I put the password, I was unable to access BIOS because it says that the password is incorrect.
I am positively sure that the password im putting in is that I put in the BIOS before because I have used the same password to lock my HDD to 100%.

Somewhere online I read that this BIOS version has a bug that makes it unable to remember the password.
Is there any solution to this or I have to send my laptop for Toshiba?
Operating system is windows 7 Professional-

Unfortunately there is no magic solution. I can't comment on speculation on bug BIOS but if there is a problem with the service provider Toshiba BIOS must be informed about this.

I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider and ask for help. They can remove your password.

This password protection is very serious characteristic safety and public forum is not the best place to write about the ways how it can be removed.

  • Satellite C855 - white screen after BIOS update

    Hello

    I am a beginner user,
    I have Satellite C855
Yesterday, I downloaded a 'update BIOS"that was sent to my computer.
Since that my screen is blank, there is a hum in the background.

I have a recovery back up on my external hard drive, but of course, the screen is blank so I don't know how the product.

I think I must have downloaded a model or the update was not compatible.

    Hello

White screen do you mean that nothing appears on the screen?
You see the start screen of Toshiba, or if you are able to access the BIOS?

Where this is not possible, try this:
Disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery.
Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds.
Then connect the two parts (batteries and AC adapter) for the laptop and try to turn on the unit.

In case this would not solve the problem of the laptop, I'm scared of m the BIOS update was not completed successfully and I think that only authorized Toshiba service provider would be able to help you.

  • Satellite C855 - 2 EV: how to remove the keyboard to replace the WLan

    Recently, I bought a Toshiba Satellite C855 - 2 EV.
As the performance of the wireless network card is a little disappointing, I bought a replacement NIC.

However when I tried to change the map, I was unable to open the laptop.
There are a few screws under the keyboard that must be unscrewed before being opened.

Unfortunately I could not remove the keyboard.
Does anyone know how the keyboard can be removed?

    Thank you!

I hope you know that replacement of a card WLAN or upgrade is not supported for doing something like that will void you the warranty. Another thing is the compatibility. Toshiba doesn't offer information on compatible WLAN cards so I m asking you already bought the new wireless network card.

Are you sure that it will properly work 100%?
Please think twice before you do anything. In my opinion, it is not good idea to cancel the warranty for the new laptop.

  • Satellite C855-2HW guard go to sleep / hibernation

I have a Satellite C855 2HW and it keeps going standby / hibernation.
I put everything as maximum performance and never to Hibernate, but he remains in hibernation.

I do not use the Eco utility (it is off).
My power cable is attached and I have it configured to never blur the screen, never the stop screen and never go to sleep mode.

Even in settings advanced of the I told him never to stop the drive and 'never' for all the options standby. The rest is all about max performance.

I do not understand why it goes into hibernation after a few minutes.
When I play a movie or something on youtube, apparently not go into hibernation.

    Any suggestions what to do?
I've posted it here, because I couldn't find myself and thought that perhaps eco utility is always do something to reverse it?

    Hello

Could you please post information about the system you are using?
Using Win 7 or 8 Win? As far as I know it was pre-installed with Win 8 64 bit. Is this good?
When exactly the laptop going mode sleep?

To my knowledge there are no many options where the Hibernate mode can be configured.
You can set up sleep auto/upgrade the system hibernate mode in Power Options.
    (Win, x key-> power options

This feature automatically stops the system in sleep or Hibernate mode when there is no input or material of access for a specified period.

Also, there is an option called automatic low battery hibernation mode. When the battery is depleted to the point that your laptop operation cannot be continued, the system automatically goes into hibernation mode and turns off.

Finally and above all specific aspects of Power Options containing the Hibernation mode and the mode 'sleep'.

Where can I find them? Or is there something I should do more / before I access the BIOS?

    Any ideas? Thank you!

    Hello

Usually, you should be able to access the BIOS by pressing F2 when starting the unit.
I can't say for sure, but it seems to me like a serious equipment malfunction if you are not able to access the BIOS.
Such a material problem serious may be related to motherboard problems, but also modules of memory RAM.

In case you are able to access the BIOS, check if the HARD drive is still visible on the first page of the BIOS.
If the disk HARD isn't visible, then the laptop cannot find a bootable device and therefore no error checking media is displayed.

    Hello

You are able to access the advanced boot menu by pressing F8 while turning on the unit?

If you are able to do so, you should try to start the computer using one of the advanced options available in the start menu.

You can try to start the laptop computer using the last known good configuration or you can try to repair the system by automatically selecting the repair my computer option, you can try to start the machine in safe mode to access important data on the HARD drive.

Finally (after data backup) I would recommend to recover the laptop using the Toshiba recovery media

  • Satellite C855-141 - need older version of BIOS

    Hello.

I need old wersions bios for my laptop as the latest is shit and it mess with my computer laptop system cooling... where can I find older versions, or the contact person for the older versions?

    pskcae 00L00DY4

    Hi Tony,.

On the Toshiba download page you can download the latest version of the BIOS only. Unfortunately there is no option for older versions of IDF.
What you can try is to contact the Toshiba service provider in your country and ask for help. They have access to the database of the BIOS, and they can get the old version for you.

  • Satellite C855 HDD unallocated / PXE - E61 problem

    Hello

I am the owner of a Satellite C855, and it crashed. I opened the laptop and after awhile, he showed me the Toshiba load screen. At first I thought that the operating system has crashed, but I could not re - install it back, there is no boot file.

Now, after Toshiba load screen, I get the following error:
    .....
PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
PXE - M0F: Exit PXE ROM
Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

The HARD drive is seen in BIOS. Connected to another computer, also it is recognizable in the BIOS, but it is not shown. There is no more partitions; now, it looks like a HARD drive unallocated. I checked the HARD drive for bad sectors and it doesn't have everything. I tried to recover the information about it but it does not work.

I don't know who are the solutions because I don't want to lose the data I have on the HARD drive.

    TNX

Hmm I m afraid the data is lost.
What you could do is to check if you can access the drive HARD and the data connection of the HARD disk to the USB port using a USB-SATA 2.5 cart.

I'm afraid that this will not help, but a check is worth a try m

If not for the workbook, you must reinstall the system once more because it looks more like the system isn't bootable.

  • Unable to access e-mail. Password does not. Cannot receive e-mail to resett

Request password reset. Said that they sent me an email. Unable to access email - this is the problem! What now?

You confirm the password to webmail providers page by logging in with the user name and password. If they work then you have the correct credentials. When you do that, you need to get a list of the parameters of the server of your provider and check what you have in Thunderbird.
You can post the Thunderbird troubleshooting info here and let someone to look at the settings you have now. They can spot a problem.
You know that you are using the right username and password first.

  • Unable to access several sites and install apps in the appstore. A possible malware issue. What should I do?

    Hey guys,.

I am using a 8 GB Mac Mini with an i5 processor clocked at 2.6 GHz Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.5 (14F27).

I don't have problems with this until I visited a torrent site (I hate invited but unfortunately I did this time). Since that unfortunate activity, I get mackeeper pop ups and my search engines by default on all my browsers like Safari, Firefox and chrome automatically replaced by trovi. I can't access to 90% of websites like YouTube except facebook, twitter, Netflix, gmail, google, yahoo and other email clients. I get a "cannot connect" on firefox and messages error 'Safari cannot connect to the server. I checked with the ISP settings and proxy but no problem there as my other devices such as the ipad and the iphone apple work fine on the same wifi network. I erased all the extensions, cookies and cache but without success.

I am also unable to access the app store to install applications. I wanted to make its own memory and a removal of the malware, but couldn't that since the appstore could not contact the server.

I mainly use this machine for audio production and browsing through Logic Pro X.

What is a malware problem? If so, how to fight that? Should I format my HD and upgrade to El Capitan? Who will solve the problem?

    Kindly help.

    See you soon,.

  • Connection timed out on the Web site. Tried to delete the cache/cookies. No proxy. Internet Explorer. Unable to access. Help, please. Site Web works.

I get Connection Timed Out on these Web sites: energy-medicine - software.com and energy - medicine.info. I tried to clear cookies and cache. I put no Proxy. I tried Internet Explorer and are still unable to access. I restarted my computer. I know that this site is active, because I contacted the webmaster and he says that it is active to an end. What else can I do to access this site? Thank you!

Make a check of malware with several malware scanning of programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.
All of these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.

  • After a few minutes of use, Firefox becomes suddenly unable to access most of the sites.

Firefox running on the latest version of Fedora, after a few minutes of use, Firefox becomes unable to access many Web sites. It seems to be limited to the Web sites I visit frequently, but it is difficult to say. It affects all sites, however. It also affects the same sites every time. Restart the browser fixes it, and that it will often resolve itself given sufficient time, also.

I tried to clear my history and cookies, reset the browser and navigation without any active modules, but nothing seems to have an effect.

    Try disabling IPv6.

    Check also for other issues.

You can try to reset (power off / on) of the router.

    Hello

Firefox is unable to access the Internet. Internet in the phone works, because all applications in my phone are able to access the Internet. I tried to access several different web pages. Their work. The screen is all black, no error messages appear. The strange thing is that Firefox Sync seems to be able to connect to the server, and I can download plugins.
