Unable to access windows desktop 8 - sleep or hibernation settings

Hello

I use the software of windows 8 for the past two weeks. Anywhere, anytime, to stop the PC, I am unable to get back in with ctrl + alt + delete to get to the sign in the stadium.

This time the keys ctrl + alt + del functionality does not work and I am unable to get everything.

I think it has something to do with the sleep settings and ensures extended, but unfortunately, I can't solve.

Help, please

Thank you

Hill

Hello Hill,.

You can try to start safe mode and see if the problem occurs. To initiate safe mode follow the link below:

If the problem happens then in safe mode, try to perform the boot so that we make sure that there are no other third party application which is in conflict with the operating system. To perform a clean boot, follow these in the link below:

How to perform the clean boot in Windows

Note: See "how to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting" to prepare the computer to start as usual after a repair.

Additional information:

Note: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

Important: When running Chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when Chkdsk attempts to repair this area so all available data on this risk be lost.

I hope this helps. Otherwise, feel free to write us again and we will be happy to help you.

I am running XP Service Pack 3 and were unable to access the Windows Update page for a few weeks now. I get an error message saying that "Internet Explorer can not locate the page". I tried several routes to access the update page, but they all fail. Analysis of virus and malware picked up nothing. I am running Internet Explorer Ver 8.

It turns out that the problem was software malicious. After the last post, more I tried to do at least I could do: Internet Explporer wouldn't start again, I could not copy files from one drive to the other and my backup software has been disabled. I have reinstalled Windows to solve problems. Scans of my files from backup using Quick Heal has revealed the presence of Trojan.Gen, who may have let in some other bad guys. I can now access the update site.

  • Unable to access Windows 7

We cannot access Windows on one of the 2 user accounts on my other computer (office) - both say that the relevant password is incorrect.

It runs Windows 7 Home Premium, for remote access is not possible.

The problem started at startup and coincided with a behavior strange keyboard.  The "caps lock" has the effect opposite iit should I, .e when it is indexed and the indicator light is on, it is lowercase and vice versa when it is turned off.

Sometimes it does not strike at all.

Tried a reset of password, prepared on a laptop drive, but it does not on the desktop, no doubt because the 2 machines have different passwords.

Thought about using the ease of the option access, with a view on the establishment of the command voice, but computer reacts to by clicking on this icon.

    Any ideas please?

Thank you very much for reading this - I hope someone can help!

    Here you go:

    1. Ask a friend to burn a CD repair system for you. It takes less than five minutes through Control Panel / backup and restore.
    2. Use this CD to boot the machine into Windows Repair Mode.
    3. Open a command prompt so that you can test the keyboard. If he answers incorrectly, replace it with another keyboard, or use an external USB keyboard.
    4. In Repair Mode, use system restore to restore Windows to a point while your problems began.
    5. Create, test, and document an admin account to spare for future emergency situations.

  • Unable to access Windows Update HP Pavilion dm4 Windows 7 64 bit

My setting for Windows Update has always been - automatic.  When I realized that the update had done nothing since April, I tried an update manually and repeatedly getting the message: ' Windows Update cannot currently check for updates because the service is not running. "  You may have to restart your computer", I restarted, tried MS 'FixIt' - no change.   64-bit HP Pavilion dm4 window 7

Paul - the link was not one I wanted to try. I found this fix on the Forum of MS response:

Go to Control Panel > click on Windows Update

    Click change settings (upper-left)

under updates, click on the drop down arrow

    Click never check updates

    Press OK

    Close the Control Panel window

Then the closing session and Re-start Windows fresh.

When you're ready, go back into the Control Panel > click on Windows Update

    Click on change settings (upper-left)

under updates, click on the drop down arrow

Now make the choice you need for automatic updates

    Press OK when done

    Close the Control Panel window

Then make a fresh visit to Windows Update.

If you have already tried the fixes that didn't work, the foregoing can at least get a point better, "but with update errors then you can do a system restore.  I did mine to the last point of "automatic system restore" which was 31/05/12.

It worked for me and I spent 2.5 hours installing all missed updates.  My computer works better when it is new!

  • Unable to access Remote Desktop on my computer at home, when the network is set to Public.

I have a computer set up at home as a hobby-Web server, designated 'Server', Windows 7 Professional (Swedish language version). The server has installed Norton Internet Security. Standard port in the firewall is open to allow remote desktop connections.

I can't connect to the server by using remote desktop, unless...

When I open the network - and center of the share on the server, under view your active networks, my internet connection ('designated network 8' by Windows) has the value 'Public network '.

I can not connect to the server.

If I change "Network of 8" to "Home network" or "Work" - so I can connect to the server by using remote desktop.

But if I put the adapter network/public IP of my server to "Home network", is not my compromised security more than it already is when I encouraged Remote Desktop? I don't want to let my Internet connection to the home network, because the point of having different settings is because I want to have my internal network to a lower level of security for access to the network drive.

It seems that you use Windows 8. You will not be able to access the Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) If you use Windows 8. Group Policy Editor can have access on Windows 8 Pro/Enterprise edition of Windows 8.
