  You need to reinstall using an XP Home OEM disk - see if one of your friends has one you can borrow. The key on your COA sticker will be valid for this.

  I had one laptop I had for 5 years. It came with windows vista installed on it.  About 4 months ago, I bought windows 7 Home premium allowed for Latin America and the Caribbean.
