If the copy of Windows 7 that you installed an upgrade, please note the following:

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

    3. On the activation screen that appears, select the country that you reside in, and then click Next.

    Hello:

I had to make a drastic clean the C drive of my ENVY 17 laptop and did a Factory Reset. I was able to reload Windows 8 Pro to my USB stick recovery.

However, Windows 8 Pro cannot be reactivated indicating that the product key is invalid or blocked. I understand that this is due to having the OS completely cleaned and formatted drive.

    My questions are:

    1. Will be the HP (which is available on order) recovery disks be able to help solve the situation described above?
    2. It will allow me to reactivate my Windows 8 Pro?
    3. Will the recovery be HP discs/media contain or are marked with the correct Windows product key?

  • The upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 Pro after the hard drive took a dive.

Hello, I have an old Dell Inspiron E1505, I bought in 2006, which I have upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 Pro last an online purchase that came with a product key of designertechsoftware.com in April of 2014. Months later, the hard drive has so I replace w / a 60 GB one and replaced the RAM w / 2-1 GB cards. I don't have a disc of Windows 7 Pro but I got it work using the old XP dics, originally, it came with. Can I use this disc to enter the product key code that I got online for Windows 7? I see there is an upgrade option that comes up when I run the XP disk once it's been installed on my laptop. Thanks in advance for your help in my question. Not sure if it has been already answered the previous question.

Your best option is to ask a backup copy or to borrow the corresponding edition, you have a license from a friend. Ensure that it is a upgrade disk or any retail version is authentic.

  • Unable to activate Windows XP by using the sticker after replacement of equipment

    Original title: product activation

The motherboard on my wife's computer fried, so I just replaced.   Centuries ago, it came with Win98 and slowly but surely making its way to XP Home.  I don't have the installation disc, but there is a sticker "authentic" in this topic.  But this product key is coming as invalid.  We have already sunk $500 in there and I don't want to upgrade to Windows 7 on this computer.  From multiple sources, I was told that all I have to do is call the number without Microsoft fresh to get an activation code, but this phone number is not found on your site!

unless you have purchased the same exact motherboard model and specifications, you cannot activate the exact key even to different hardware, assuming that you have already used this product before and active key, it...

That is not exactly true.  You may need to activate by phone, but I know people who have changed motherboards and have reactivated their facilities.  Die PCs.  Unless it is an OEM version, I don't think that there is nothing to prevent reactivation.

  • Re: Unable to activate Windows Vista Business using the Microsoft key

I am facing difficulties to activate the microsoft package, whenever I enter the product key printed on the label attached to my pc, it says wrong key.
    Help, please.

The key to Microsoft, that you can find on the lower side of your laptop is not a kind of universal key and this key belongs to Vista preinstalled on your laptop. You got your laptop with Vista preinstalled. With your laptop, you have paid a license and an operating system.

After recall of Toshiba you must create Toshiba Recovery DVD or this facilities you can use if often you want with your laptop. This version of Vista belongs to you and can only be used with your laptop.

If you are using Microsoft facilities DVD you must have the key for this version. If you do not, you must purchase a key online and activate a preinstalled Vista version.

  • Can't activate windows xp pro after re install

I tried again to install windows xp professional on 7 laptops and none of them will be activated. They are in a school and have a volume of education license. I went through activating by phone and it says can not activate. I then spoke to someone at this number who said I had to pay $110 plus tax to fix the problem. I'm at a complete loss as to why they don't will not activate if I have a valid volume license.

    Hello

I looked towards the top of the Volume License product key, and I don't see anything extraordinary.  The key is blocked Activation but it is normal that the key to Volume license older XP given that these license keys of Volume more circumvented the need to activate.

Microsoft has created new Volume license key when it was found that Activation Bypass Volume keys (time when the internet became big) are so easy to hack someone leaking just the key to the internet. However, as far as I understand it, the older keys are still valid as long as they were not sunk or abused. I searched the internet for this key and the key does not seem to have been disclosed.

As for the message 'not installed Validation control' Windows XP came not with the genuine Validation feature "baked in" at the launch.  The Genuine Advantage Notification update adds Validation controls to XP (user does not have to install the update, it's purely optional).  The user can also simply go to http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate , the user will be prompted to install the Validation controls and then the online Validation will take place.

At this point I see nothing suspicious on the Volume of this user license key, and also long as on-line Validation returns as authentic, I believe that the key is valid and authentic.

    Thank you

    Hey Mark_L_Storm

If vista is preinstalled on the computer "hard down", that it is linked to the original machine it is installed

It cannot be transferred to another machine

If a retail vista license, it can be transferred to another machine

but the rule is a vista = vista anytime facility license

"or later — as is typical with Microsoft software on shelf - it could be loaded on a desktop and two laptops."

This isn't the case at all

    a vista license = a vista installation

  • Unable to activate Windows XP Home Edition after the repair facility.

Of that, I was running a Dell Dimension 5000 bought from the Dell website in 2005. After this computer from run very slowly, I decided on an upgrade. So I removed the hard drive of this computer with XP Home Installation and everything what it intact and plugged the hard drive into a completely new computer (that I bought and customized piece by piece). I also installed Windows XP Pro using the ability of XP to run dualboot. Now the Pro works well, but has of course none of the programs of the host OS installed as even if Pro and Home are installed on the same drive C, Pro of course did not the registry of home settings. That's fine, but when I chose the House to the splash screen immediately after my computer upward once again, I have encountered an error saying that Windows has shut down the computer to prevent damage etc. by a blue screen of death. So I fixed installed House, by inserting the Home CD in the CD drive (which is also new and I bought, not even the one from my old computer to 2005), choice of APPETIZER and not the repair console and then clicking R to repair the detected existing OS. I fixed installed and I was thrilled when the problem has been resolved. When I chose the House and after having set up, I was greeted by the familiar screen with users that I had set up on my PC of 2005. When I clicked the user admin, typed the password, he accepted the password and then a box came up saying I had to activate Windows before I could open a session. By clicking on the number resulted in the user disconnects automatically before the start menu or desktop appeared. Clicking Yes led me to a screen that gives me the choice to choose between online and phone activation. As my entire computer (except for the hard drive) is new, the internet network adapter is also new, and that's why the internet settings (the 2005 model old) which I had not yet changed on the Pro Installation do not allow me to activate via the net. I tried via telephone following all the instructions and punch in the 25 digit code generated by the wizard in the phone and told me that the operator could not generate a code (for me 2 type in the boxes provided and therefore use to activate XP Home). I then shut down the PC, went to the installation of Pro, changed the IP settings according to the instructions given to me by the ISP to the phone and checked the net now works on installation of Pro IE. It worked, and I now turned off, chose the House and tried to activate on the net and there is not yet well make sure that my computer is connected to the net. I even clicked on the phone option and changed my ID by typing my OEM 25 product key numbers and clicking Refresh. I tried again by phone and still could not activate my installation in a House. The installation CD home I used was the 2 me by my Builder (a purple disk saying OPERATING SYSTEM: ALREADY INSTALLED on YOUR COMPUTER). This CD certainly isn't a forgery because I ordered directly from DELL and not even the 2005 Bill to prove it. Is it because I changed my system components and not my hard drive with it, which is the origin of this problem? How can I fix this without backup everything and remove the installation of the House and then re - install?

"ArjunC" wrote in message News: 3df4138b-2174-4cb1-821e-0527dc60da2c...

In fact the Windows XP Pro has been installed by the people who moved the hard drive to the new computer. I never asked for it. But remove XP Pro still wouldn't solve my problem. I need to find a way to use my original of 25 characters product key or get a key of success generated by phone so that I can log on to Windows XP Home Edition and continue to use my PC as how I used my old. Some people have told me that I can convince to install MS by phone that I transferred the disk hard - 2 a new computer and then tried a repair but the problem is that all the numbers given on Activation Wizard phone are automated, giving instructions, asking the ID generated by the wizard and then telling me that they are unable to generate an ID for activation. If there is human here, how do you convince a machine of my innocence :)

You need to reinstall using an XP Home OEM disk - see if one of your friends has one you can borrow. The key on your COA sticker will be valid for this.
You can also contact Dell and ask them to provide a set of disks in your machine - for a price.

What is the manufacturer and model of your laptop?

Visit their web page (the manufacturer) and find their drivers and help section and get the drivers for your model laptop for Windows XP 32-bit.

You, of course, this done from another machine and using some external media to get it back to the laptop.  You can get * just * wired or wireless network drivers if you wish - you can then use the Internet on the laptop again to get the rest.

  • Unable to connect to the internet after the system restore and Windows Installer (Vista)

    Hello

I have recently restored the whole system on the HP to my sister a virus that I was unable to remove it manually.
The system restore went well until it has reached the point where he was going to reinstall Windows. The computer just turned itself off and the software installation was not complete. I am able to reinstall again. I must therefore hold the CTRL + alt + delete, go to Task Manager, click on audit.exe and complete the process to turn on the computer. But I can't do anything with it in safe mode. The main problem is: I can't connect to the internet! Even if the network discovery is on it will not find my wireless network. What can I do on the internet? And is it possible to install Windows again without the CD?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

    ·        You are able to boot to the desktop in normal mode? If this isn't the case, then you get any code or message?

    ·        How did you did system restore?

    ·        Are you referring to the system recovery using the recovery partition or the drive?

I suggest that you start in safe mode with network and check if you can access the internet?

My computer crashed a few months ago (I've been putting off dealing with this power) and I had to do a complete and smooth reconstruction. Since the reconstruction, I was able to activate Windows 7 Pro correctly. I had another product key and tried to enter through the user interface both through slui 4, without success.

Tired to find a solution through various forums without success. Hoping someone smarter than I am can make sense to sub the diagnostic report. Even tried all the stupid things like making sure that the files were not read-only value and everything works as an admin (certainly an Admin account, and there is no other account anyway).
