Unable to connect server to Synology OpenDirectory

Using 10.10.x server and client 10.11.x, can't connect Apple machines to a Synology OpenDirectory of services. The directory utility says simply "the server has not responded.

However, using ApacheDirectoryStudio or the ldapsearch command, I can properly connect and search the database of openDirectory syno.  (for example: ldapsearch h ldap.mydomain.blah d uid = root, cn = users, dc = ldap, dc = mydomain, dc = mypassword works fine blah - w.)

So, basically, I can connect and search, but the INTERFACE seems to do things differently. And I followed the proper procedures found in the documentation of Syno.

Any idea?

In my view, this error is related to SSL, more precisely the way as OD accesses the.app store certificate. The cli version still works for some reason any. If you try to make an unencrypted link, it should work. If this isn't an ideal solution (to the very temporary), it should still help you debug

    If you are able to connect to the server of Maxl Essbase.

  • Unable to connect server connection to the composer

    So I created a user in vsphere with administrator privileges (I know that I can change this back... a task because after I get things to work).  I could get my connection to the server to establish a connection with vSphere Server (without View Composer active).  If it works OK.

    Now, I'm changing the server item vCenter to connect to the server...  I want to activate the View Composer feature, I had installed on the vCenter server.  Given that I have is co-located composer on the server vCenter Server, select this option, and the default port, 18443.  I'm asked to accept an unsigned certificate... Ok..

    But then, I get a error message "there was a lack of communication. Probably due to bad credentails or permission settings. »

    I can't figure this out, as the credentials have been good to connect to vCenter in the first place... but not good enough to connect to the composer?  What gives?

    OK, I'm a fool.    I forgot to add the user to the local Administrators group on the server where vCenter Server is running.

    I'm unable to view or download from the App store apple updates. Everything else in the app store works fine except the updates and the updates, I get 3rd party updates, but nothing from apple. If I click on updates at the top of the app store icon I get the following error

    • I can ping swscan.apple.com and she is resolved to 17.164.1.22 which is the same IP that also resolves the mac next to me (which gets the update)
    • I cannot telnet on port 443 to swscan.apple.com and it connects.
    • I have a mac in yosemite next to me who can see the updates so I suspect that doesn't pose any problems with the service itself rather something on why machine.
    • I started in safe mode, and while in safe mode, I get the same error.

    You can try to disable the Sophos websheild and ClamXav if she has one. Even better would be to uninstall both and test.

    I tried to delete the browser cache, cookies and even re-installed browsers. But it helps did ' t.

    I tried to delete the WiFi under preferences and recreated. Still problem persists.

    I am able to display all Web sites in my windows laptop and mobile phones connected to the same WiFi at home.

    Above the problem came recently for 1 week. Please suggest a solution.

    You may have installed one or more variants of the malware "VSearch' ad-injection. Please back up all data, and then take the steps below to disable it.

    Do not use any type of product, "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" on a Mac. It is never necessary for her, and relying on it for protection makes you more vulnerable to attacks, not less.

    Malware is constantly evolving to work around defenses against it. This procedure works now, I know. It will not work in the future. Anyone finding this comment a couple of days or more after it was published should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.

    VSearch malware tries to hide by varying names of the files it installs. To remove it, you must first identify the naming model.

I get a msg of error saying 'unable to connect to the server', but it works very well with other sites such as Facebook and YouTube.  This happens when I use Safari, Firefox and Chrome.  Yet if I'm in Safe Boot mode it works fine.  I exaggerate the App installed VPN and when I am in normal mode and connect to the VPN exaggeration, all Web pages work correctly.     If a problem does not occur when it is started in safe mode, then you have already determined that the problem was isolated to a few 3rd party software running on your Mac.  Take a look at the information below to start with the removal of some elements of start-up and connection and see if the problem persists:

    Test your login items

    1. Choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click users and groups.

    2. Click on your account under the current user name, and then click connection points.

      Make a list of the login items, you will need to remember later.

    3. Select all the elements of connection, and then click the button Delete .

    4. Choose the Apple menu > restart.

    5. If this solves the problem, reopen the preferences users and groups, add the elements of connection one at a time and restart your Mac after the addition of each of them.

      If the problem persists, follow the steps above to remove only the last element of connection that you added.

    I got Skype Lite (or the Java thing, whatever we call it - does not allow calls - only CAT) on my Samsung Wave 723 for more than six months. Earlier this week he suddenly disconnected me and when I tried to log in again it showed this error "Unable to connect to the server of Skype." almost immediately after, I started signing in. I tried to reset the settings in Skype, my phone settings, I took out the battery and reset even WiFi. Then I tried to connect with a few other WiFis - still the same error. My friend has the same version of Skype Lite on his cell phone, and it works very well and without errors.

    Anyone know how to fix this error? It is urgent, please.

    Solved the problem on my phone. I just had to add the area code to my phone number in the connection menu.

    @yousef8824: I downloaded my Skype Java one of those ages of links it is a. not useful at this time.

    Always write can not connect to the Skype server. just like others. I use version 4.2 without problems, but about 1 week ago can't connect on Skype. Always write this message and try after 2 minutes later. Doesn't work, I try to download the latest version and at the end of installation even message, unable to connect to the Skype server. No problem with our PC

    Interestingly, I can't go to my Skype account with login Skype from my Windows Phone (Nokia Lumia 630).

    Conclusion is any problem with your server and connection PC, dosnt matter version of Skype. Please fix. I hope in a short time. Thank you

    having exactly the same problem on my Mac when I try to connect it just gives me that a message could not connect to the server. Can go to my ipad, same account etc, but not on the desktop. Anyideas? I tried to download latest version, but that does not help

  • Unable to connect to the server

    I have an officejet pro 8600plus. When I bought it, I have activated ePrint and registered my printer, but never used the feature. Since then, I updated from XP to windows 8.1, changed a router and connected the printer through a series of switches on a wired ethernet connection. A few days ago, I tried to use e print but received a message that I couldn't connect to the server.

    my printer prints fine, connects to each computer on my home network, I just upgraded the firmware with success to [personal information deleted]
    and yet, for more than three days, unable to connect to the server. I even deleted my account eprint printer, after changing his email successfully, but now I can not add new, I can't get the code because I can't activate the web plus services. I can scan from the printer to files network and all, but can't seem to activate eprint.

    can anyone help?

    Hi the gills.

    Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I think since upgrade to 8.1 Windows and change your printer router cannot connect to web services to get the job of ePrint feature.

    Please define Manual of the printer an IP address manually and DNS servers. I've included a link to another post, I did it with the stages (including screenshots) how to do it.

  • Unable to connect to the web services server

    Unable to connect to the web services server.  It is a common error that you might see if you try to enable web services.  If you receive this message, try the following steps.

    For Officejet printers

    1. open the internet browser type printer IP address.

    2 should bring you to the status of the printer page.

    3. Select the tab network at the top.

    4. left side select IPv4 under wireless.

    5. under DNS address Configuration select manual DNS server.

    6. for favorite enter 8.8.8.8

    7. for alternate enter 8.8.4.4

    8. Select apply. You can get a warning saying that this could break the connection which is very good.

    9. turn the printer off for about 30 seconds and then try to enable web services.

    For Photosmart printers

    1. Enter the printer's IP address in a browser.

    2 Select the network at the top of the page.

    3. on the left, select network.

    4. Select Network (IP) address

    5. select manual DNS server

    a. manual Preferred DNS should read 8.8.8.8

    b. alternate DNS server should read. 8.8.4.4

    6. Select apply you could get a fair warning select OK
