Greetings! And thanks for your visit. I was not a happy camper since my toys have acted toward the top. And eating too much of my time, with too few results. Here we go:
- I'm unable to create a new folder or get No response after clicking on "new folder" on the command bar in Windows 7 (Professional).
Nothing happening... not even an error message. I can enter the existing folders (where individual files) but as I'm trying to create a new folder to put them in, I write off. But that's not all. There is another mystery plaguing my system (and I suspect that these two are related). I am naïve about how to remedy the situation:
- I can not save files to my desktop (x) - favorite mainly files I just downloaded and am trying to save;
I get an error message indicating "you don't have permission to save to this place... you want to save it to My Documents instead? (No, I wouldn't.) I'm connected with my regular user profile (which has administrator privileges). Yes... I checked in the user accounts and verified. (I am the only user on the system, in case this has an impact on the problem. Not sure if I should create a "dummy" another user without administrator privileges, but just throw that out there.) This seems to be mainly when I am trying to save a downloaded file or the executable file.
I can if not create and/or move files without problem; It's just not very welcoming for new downloads.Between these two issues, I'm not having fun with this all-in-One Dell Optiplex (new). She is on a home network and the only thing I havereminder to do recently is to join the homegroup with one of the other Win 7 PC on the same network. Maybe this related to not having 'permission' to save in some places? Or create new folders? I'm the kind of feeling sad and rejected...Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. FYI: I try not to visit the registry on my own I do not have a Guide of techno-GPS with me. I sailed quite well on my own otherwise, provided that I the registry (or any what presses along the way.) Please think about this and do the right thing. I'll wait here with my turn signals on.CiaoHello
You have discovered a problem with Windows 7. To resolve this problem, I use a program called FileMenu Tools. You can download the portable freeware from here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-SOFTWARE/System/System-Enhancements/FileMenu-Tools-Portable.shtml .
After having downloaded and installed the program, you will notice that, by default, each option is checked. I would be much more selective on this subject, otherwise your context menu will be a full page long! When the main window opens, you will see a list on the right side of all the elements that can be added to the context menu. Start weeding through the list and every one to take away, you don't need the United Nationsby checking the box.
Once you have completed your selection (de-selections) make sure that you click the green check mark in the row of icons at the top of the left window of the interface to 'Apply' of your choice. The program can do much more, but that answers your specific question. I am told that the program has a good help file, so try here if you are interested.
Let me know if this solves the problem for you.
Kind regards

Suddenly and without any warning, I can't create a simple "new folder"; an attempt to 'right click' offers me only: 1) a folder compressed (zip), or, 2.) a Briefcase. Why the simple "new folder" disappeared off the coast of the menu list, and HOW do I get BACK?
If I open Explorer and try to create a new folder from there, I can "click"New folder"button all DAY, but it does NOTHING.
What happens here?
I am running Windows 7 and so did 15-16 months, without any real problem, so far.
If anyone can help with this, I would CERTAINLY appreciate it.

Unable to create the new folder
When in the documents, I can't create a new folder. ? All other functions work, but not new folder. When I click on it that nothing happens, when I click on burn disc, then the door opens. I'm completely confused. Thank you
Do, or you have installed Chrome? It appears that an update of Chrome, (mid April 2013), is responsible for the loss of the option new folder. Even if Chrome has not been installed, here are two patches.

Unable to create the new folder. File system 512 error.
Hello
I was not able to create new folders in my pictures public library recently. Whenever I do, I get a message from file system error 512.
A forum sponsor said that Windows 7 had a limit of cable of 50 folders under the images. Even though I've had 61 cases, which kind of contradict that response, I went before and tidy up until now I have only 39 files directly under the images. However, the problem persists.
Just for the record, I also did a registry cleaning, obviously have restarted, etc.
Any ideas out there would be more appreciated.
Hello
Did you changes to the computer before you encountered the problem?
Check if you are able to create a new folder in the library of images in safe mode. To start in safe mode follow the link given below.
Start your computer in safe mode

Unable to create the new file or change exisiting Movie Maker file
original title: Director
My hard drvie was replaced under warranty by Dell. Before that happened, I backed up all my files, including holiday movies I made with Windows Movie Maker. The new hard drive had Windows Vista pre installed on it. I downloaded all my backup files and everything seemed to work. However, in making a new movie with Windows movie maker or by modifying an existing movie file, I couldn't create a new folder in the collection. When I open the file in the top of the page it shows to create a new icon collection file, but its hidden. bottom line, when I try to click on it nothing happens?

I'm guessing that you saved the. MSWMM Movie Maker project files? The problem is that the. MSWMM project file does not include your

Only time that happens, in my limited, knowledge is... If you use a 'illegal' name, such as ":" symbol. There are symbols, that you cannot use as part of a name. When this happens, you should get a warning indicating that the name is not allowed, something to that effect. Then he returns itself back to the new folder.
Suggest you try again with conventional names. See if it works or not.t-4-2
