  Once they are off have you tried every day updates individually and you determine who updates is causing the problem with your hard drive?

  Maybe it's just that the update interferes with the driver that you have for your hard drive and it may need an updated driver.

  I try to boot my laptop with the power profile high performance. I was surprised to discover that the problem of the slow video playback of the external HARD drive has been resolved.   Method 1: You can run the troubleshooter of material and check.

  Follow the steps to run the Troubleshooter:

  1. Press Windows + C keys on your keyboard to show the charms.

  2. Troubleshooting type, and then click Troubleshooting under settings.

  3. Now, type Hardware Troubleshooter in the option Search .

  4. Click the hardware store to run the troubleshooter.

  Method 2: I suggest you try to reinstall the USB controllers and if the problem persists try disabling any antivirus installed on your computer, and then reinstall the USB controllers.

  To remove and reinstall all USB controllers, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, click run, type sysdm.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Click the hardware tab.
  3. Click the Device Manager button.
  4. Expand Bus USB controllers.
