Unable to get an active Windows Professional 7 right.

Since 3 days ago a message "this copy of windows is genuine nog" down to the right of the screen of my son.

When I go to the activation window I have the choice between

-online activation
-buy the new product key
-Retype the key
-other means

Online gives "the product key must be activated with new material. It is true; as I had a major accident & loss of data when Windows Vista came out, I installed this 7 first on an old computer & tried out there. I had it installed on another configuration (which is now already as undesirable, so that it is out of service).

Product to retype key makes no difference (which is normal)

Otherwise there is the good old phone activation, but when I'm there I get

"an error has occurred."
You can also contact microsoft by phone to help solve this problem.
code 0 x 80000048
Impossible to find a detailed error description
installation code is null
Setup error; 0 X 48 (72L)

If I click on this box here, I get a screen with the closest location, where there is nothing to choose. Is there just no visible places.

If I click Next, I get the error code 0 x 80000045 and then I get a phone call, number which is not even a European number, and I refuse to be called intercontinental to resolve an error that Microsoft is responsible for.

What can I do to get this to work? This experience really does not move me from my other pc to 7...

What should I do if I receive an error 0xC004F061 when activating Windows 7. URL

  • Classic mode by using the Alt + Tab - needs to get the active window

I'm running Win7 Ultimate mode classic (the aero mode was just too much visual noise) and for years, I used the Alt + Tab to switch between applications. Starting with Vista, the content of the Alt + Tab pop-up window sorts and does not retain the positions she had in XP. Y at - it all the settings that I can change to get the unsorted window XP. With sorting darn, I'm looking for 'the' the window, I want to bring to the fore. I almost always several applications running (10-20) and several windows in each application, so it is not uncommon that I'll have 30-50 windows open when I'm researching a topic and try to create a document or a presentation on the topic.

    Hey jgt,

Here is a workaround to get the classic Alt + Tab bar.

    1. open the Explorer Windows & a few applications so that you can start using Alt + Tab feature.
    2. press Alt + Tab keys to display the keys Alt + Tab bar.
    3. without releasing the keys, press another Alt key once and release the second ALT.

Note: Do not release Alt + Tab again.

    4. now, press the Tab key to see the classic Alt + Tab bar.

Note: You will need to repeat this procedure each time you want the feature back.
If you are comfortable with the registry, you can disable the Aero Alt Tab permanently.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Back up the registry

To get the classic Alt Tab functionality in Windows 7 the Registry Editor:

    1. go to start, type regedit and press ENTER.
    2. go to the location following HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
    3. in the right pane, create a new DWORD AltTabSettings and set its value to 1.
    4. now, whenever you you press the keys "Alt + Tab" together, he'll show Windows XP style classic screen Switcher "Alt + Tab" rather than the new screen.
    5. to restore the default active Aero Switcher "Alt + Tab" screen, simply delete the DWORD AltTabSettings, created in step 3. Log out and sign in again to take effect.

    Hope that solves your problem.

  • Unable to get updates of Windows after cleaning installed.

    Inspiron 1720, Win7 Ultimate x 64

A clean installed today on a separate partition. Did not remove the existing installation of the same operating system by using the same key. The new facility will not download updates. C:\ shows many files from Windows.old. No matter what jump to anyone or is this Win10 Win10?

PS This switch to Win7 Professional would help the situation?

I should add that it is a slipstreamed SP1 version. I was able to get IE 11 installed without problem.

Theres been a few problems with Windows Update with Windows 7 clean install for these last months... You can use the WSUS Offline Update Patch Windows 7, after that Windows Update works.

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/WSUS-offline-update/

However since your goal is to make your system a Pro 10 Windows device. You better just download an .iso Windows 10 TH2 and pure install directly with your Windows 7 Ultimate product key:

Original title: I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L305-S5894 with Windows Vista Home Premium installed (32 bit).  Unable to get a backup to a flash drive.

After back back, very many updates of windows, my computer is full of problems and it is not representative of the restore points far enough back to correct.  I want really to save my data and programs for flash drive (s) and then go for a full recovery of the system (return to factory).  When you try to do the backup on a 4 GB USB key I get an error including 0 x 81000029.  I have seen posted answers to this.  Everything is included to aid Vista disk from the window which was not included when I bought my computer. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

The following article should be useful. To use system recovery options, you have Vista installation disc. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) repeatedly will install on the computer Windows recovery environment. To cross check if it is installed, try the following steps.

1 start the computer and press the F8 key continuously to get advanced boot menu options.
    2. on the menu advanced startup options, check if the Startup Repair tool is in the list.
    3. If so, select it and press ENTER.
    4. If not, then you should organize a Vista installation disc.

You may receive error messages when you try to perform a backup operation on a Windows Vista-based computer
