Unable to get games to recognize the graphics card.

Hello.

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-6c50ca Entertainment Notebook PC

I have had for almost a year. It is still quite shiny and new and I love it, but there is an annoying problem, I keep turning once in a while. Specifically, I bought this laptop on another model with more processing power because the secondary dedicated graphics card with which he came was much better than the graphics cards in all other models. It has a

Radeon (TM) HD 7690 M XT, which is not really stellar, but has been well evaluated and a good report quality / price of the laptop. The problem is, I never actually using it when I play games because they always try to detect my hardware automatically and don't find that bed in the graphic chip intel supplied with the processor. I always go in the Catalyst Control Center to change it to 'high performance', but seems not to do anything. I checked the support for some of these games and they had some suggestions for fixing it, but so far without success. Is there anyway I can force the laptop to give priority using the Radeon all the time? I am not concerned about power because I usually take the power cord with the laptop everywhere. (It's a computer 17 "laptop and relatively heavy, so I am really confused by the extra weight of the cord).

Long story short, none of my games seem to find my good graphics card, intel only shit one. How can I fix it.

I understand that the Intel card is the only option for the games that select the video card before the launch of the game.  To check, make games that do not select the card before the game starts work with the AMD card?  Just to note, switchable graphics of AMD system will use an AMD card with OpenGL programs.  See this document for more information on OpenGL.

Make sure you have the most recent BIOS.  I doubt that your system will have this option (few do), but go into the BIOS and check the section of configuring the system for a fixed mode option.

    Hi all...
    I'm on Toshiba Satellite L40-18W-PSL4CE model 00H0000GAR...

I'm not able to play games... If games start it says unsupported graphics card...
I use 1 GB of RAM... In my view, that there is no available external graphics card...

    Please help me

    Hello sow

Satellite L40 is certainly no game machine. In my view, that it runs with minimum of RAM for Vista and you must not surprise that you can't play games.
I don't know what games you want to play, but try it with an older one like FarCry or Maxpayne1. Maybe it will work.

For newer games, this laptop has certainly no enough power.

    Hi Li-ngme,

    (1) have you installed drivers for the joystick correctly?

It seems that the gamepad drivers is not updated for windows 7. Let us know if the gamepad work on other games under Windows 7.

Try to access the link below and install the drivers for gamepad for windows 7 and even install as an administrator.

If this does not work, try to contact Logitech and check if they have updates on this for windows 7.

  • Portege R700 - Autocad 2011 does not recognize the graphics card

    Hello

I have toshiba Portege R700 with 64-bit win 7 installed.
I need the computer for use with autocad 2011.

For some reason any auocad does not recognize the graphics card installed on the computer.
I suspect it because very little memory is allocated for the graphics card.

How can I change with the memory allocated for the graphics card, or perhaps, can someone show me where can I find a driver that supports autocad.

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

What Portege R700-xxx you have exactly?
As far as I know the graphics memory cannot be assigned manually.
Everything is controlled by the graphics driver and you have no influence on this

You can try updating the graphics card driver maybe it would help.
The most recent driver found on the page of the European driver Toshiba
If not, you should check the manufacturer of the graphics chip driver

    Good luck

    2. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

    3. you receive messages or error codes?

    4. have you updated all device drivers?

  • Satellite P - games do not recognize the graphics card

    Hello

My Satellite does not recognize the GT540M Nvidia when I play a game, simply select the embedded (Intel HD Graphics Family). I have already installed the drivers of toshiba and the nvidia site Web site.

    What should I do?

    Hey Buddy,

    > nvidia Web site.
I recommend you to install display drivers Toshiba that only they are pre-tested on your system. This could be the reason why games don t recognize your graphic card. Then please remove the nVidia and download the latest driver of Toshiba display.

In addition, it would be interesting to know which laptop computer, the operating system and the games you have. Otherwise, it would be a never-ending story ;)

    * What specific Dell monitor? 2 two U2414h monitors with MD214 - package of multi-monitor support
    * What specific model of computer, desktop/laptop? Workstation HP xw8400, Intel Quad Core Xeon CPU E 5335 @ 2.00 GHz, 4.00 GB of memory
    * What operating system? Windows 7 Professional 32-bit
    * Which video card? AMD over-pants V3900
    * Which ports are available for the video card? DisplayPort 1.2 STD, Dual-link DVI
    * Which video output from the video card port video on the port monitor do you use? Output Mini DisplayPort Display port in
    * What cable are you using to set the video card to the monitor? Adapter DisplayPort to MiniDispayPort - we came with every Dell monitor
    * You use the Dell supplied cable? Yes - two monitors

    * Press the Menu button of the monitor to open the OSD (On Screen Display). The bottom of the screen should display a resolution. This resolution should match the resolution of the default monitor. The two monitors: 1920 x 1080, 60 Hz

    * Brief description of the problem monitor? Monitors have been implemented following the instructions on page 25 of the Dell online manual to connect the monitor to function DP multi-flow (MST). DisplayPort cable is connected to V3900 output MiniDisplay port DisplayPort graphics card in the 1st U2414H; second DisplayPort cable is connected to the DisplayPort on 1 U2414H monitor output and MiniDisplayPort in the 2nd monitor U2414H. Dell U2414H drivers have been installed from the CD provided and both recognized by Windows. V3900 graphics card Driver is up to date with the EyeInfinity software. Source of input on both monitors the Mini Display Port value. Display settings on both monitors Display Port 1.2 value activate. Resolution of the screen on Windows 7 shows: (a) two separate Dell U2414H (mini Display Port) screens, with each resolution 1920 x 1080, multi (b) displays the value "to extend these displays. The two views work with Setup leading up to and acknowledged by the graphics card.

Problem 1 - all the time - monitor power buttons are lit, the computer is turned on, then monitors lights don't - they show 'Power save mode' and then turns off. To hit the power button on the computer to shut down Windows. Only way to get these on monitors is unplug cords from the back of each monitor, wait a few minutes, plug in the power cord, start computer and then both monitors will start up and sign of windows to the screen will appear and monitors will work. Normal operations for a full day of work if you do not restart. If you need to restart during the day (like when you get a software update), the same thing happens. Start the computer to restart, but the monitors come back on not and remain dark. There is nothing wrong with the graphics card V3900. He is certified by AMD and DisplayPort.org to work in an environment of STD DisplayPort 1.2. I had previously two 215tws Samsung SyncMasters connected to each output V3900 Grahics card and they work very well in extended mode for years until a SyncMaster 215tw started shaking like crazy. A SyncMaster has been connected to the out display with a dongle and a DVI cable Port. The other SyncMaster was connected to the DVI output on the graphics card. So I decided to buy these two U2414Hs. Technical support Dell after many phone calls and e-mails finally advised me that there is a problem of "compatibility" between my computer and the U2414Hs and recommended that I return the monitors. On the web site of the U2414H AMD has not been certified by AMD to work in a DisplayPort 1.2 STD Set Up. Other former Dell monitors are certified by AMD to work in the Display Port 1.2 Setup. DisplayPort.org lists the U2414H to work with Display Port (it does not say that it will work in a DisplayPort 1.2 Set Up).

Problem 2 - shift perceptible in the entrance of Microsoft Blue Tooth keyboard and mouse and PS2 Keyboard and mouse. All the drivers are up to date. When you type a phrase, it takes a few moments for the text displayed on the screen using a keyboard. Both the mouse connected and the Bluetooth mouse are unresponsive sporadically for a few moments until they finally react. It happens regularly during the day. The monitors provide excellent clarity when you work. The stand is ideal for office property. Before these monitors are returned if no one knows what causes these two problems and does anyone have a solution? Should I stop using the Display Port 1.2 and hang them using HDMI with active dongles? If I have to return these two U2414Hs, I considered the 2 two U2413s. Someone at - it all opinions on the last U2413s from Dell? I have read some real problems with ghosting that I just haven't the time for more. The remanence correction in the models of U2413 sold in 2014? There are very few monitors on the market with Display Port in and out to the back to support DisplayPort 1.2 STD Transport.

    Thanks for any input.

I had to remove my VGA HDMI DV card and now the DP (display port) works very well. Don't need to use a HDMI cable. Display Port 1.1 is reported as the problem in order to remove the card solves this problem.

  • Unable to get PC to recognize the camera from Nikon s3300.

We just bought a Nikon s3300 camera and can not get our PC to recognize it. Whenever we try to install the software, we get an error message telling us that we are missing a file ptpusb.dll and that we should insert the original XP discs. We have not what the computer was XP is already installed. I tried several programs repair/recover for free available, but none worked. Also, I reloaded the last sp3 for XP hoping this would provide that missing the file, but it doesn't work anymore.  Does anyone have any suggestions to solve this problem? I noticed on the internet, that this is not a rare problem with certain digital cameras and XP, but nowhere can I find someone who seems to know the answer!

    original title: lack of ptpusb.dll

OK here's what I discovered - I discovered a lot of people who have had this same problem when trying to install a relatively new digital camera on XP. I'm not an expert, but the common theme seems to be that one of the 2 dll files are required by the camera to work via the usb connection, and for some reason that I do not understand that they are not easily identifiable or pre-installed when it connects for the first time. The files are ptbusb.dll and/or his sister c:\windows\system32\ptpusd.dll of the file. According to several sites that I contacted, these default files shoud is in at least one of these places - c:\windows\system32 or \system32\dllcache or c:\windows\drivercache\i386. However, ptbusb.dll was not in one of these locations on the version of XP that I was working, even after reloading of the pack SP3 and after looking all hidden files.

In the end, I went to www.dll-files.com. This was one of the few sites I found that would let me just to download a zip file with the file that I wanted (with file note on how to install and where), without having to sign up for some sort of remedial program that eventually I would have had to pay for.
I've copied this file to windows\system32 first and does not need to put it anywhere else, because after this, the camera was immediately recognized and the problem disappeared.
  • Windows 8 not to recognize the graphics card NVIDIA

    Separated from this thread.

Hi, why you mention windows activation? He didn't speak in his original position.

I ask because I recently had to replace my hard drive in Thailand, they put an and somehow has a copy of Windows 8 but I have exactly the same problem as the OP with my graphic works not properly. I can't dim the screen, HDMI cable does not work and when I tried to play Minecraft it told me that my drivers are mistaken.

Thanks for coming back. Yes, it could be hardware problem in this scenario. You can also visit the manufacturer's Web site and install the update manually. Sometimes even scan does not show the updated drivers. Download the driver on office and try to install the driver in compatibility mode and check if it makes a difference: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/older-programs-compatible-version-windows

    Hey there Scotchman2926,

I understand that you are experiencing some problems with Apple music on Sierra. I have a few suggestions to help you solve this problem. First of all, if you are unable to access the iTunes Store as well as music from Apple, use the information in this article to help resolve this problem:
