  I have toshiba Portege R700 with 64-bit win 7 installed.
  I need the computer for use with autocad 2011.

  For some reason any auocad does not recognize the graphics card installed on the computer.

  As far as I know the graphics memory cannot be assigned manually.
  Everything is controlled by the graphics driver and you have no influence on this

  You can try updating the graphics card driver maybe it would help.

  You can try to switch between GPU and CPU by pressing Ctrl / Cmd + E, or you try disabling GPU performance by clicking on the icon of the rocket in the bar of the App, or on the top of the menu bar, deselect the box Performance GPU. You may also uncheck performance GPU in your preferences.

  I recommend you to install display drivers Toshiba that only they are pre-tested on your system. This could be the reason why games don t recognize your graphic card. Then please remove the nVidia and download the latest driver of Toshiba display.

  I have a HP Pavilion dv7-6c50ca Entertainment Notebook PC

  I have had for almost a year. It is still quite shiny and new and I love it, but there is an annoying problem, I keep turning once in a while. Specifically, I bought this laptop on another model with more processing power because the secondary dedicated graphics card with which he came was much better than the graphics cards in all other models.   I understand that the Intel card is the only option for the games that select the video card before the launch of the game.  To check, make games that do not select the card before the game starts work with the AMD card?  Just to note, switchable graphics of AMD system will use an AMD card with OpenGL programs.  See this document for more information on OpenGL.

  Make sure you have the most recent BIOS.  I doubt that your system will have this option (few do), but go into the BIOS and check the section of configuring the system for a fixed mode option.

  Before, I had a Sparkle GeForce2 MX400 64 MB AGP Graphics Card with the installed driver. I manually turned the computer off, waited for about 3 minutes, the market again, but again, the system crashes after the screen Logo of Windows XP. I started in SafeMode again, uninstalled the NVIDIA driver, restart the system and everything went back to normal. I retried my old 64 MB AGP card and it still works fine. I really need to install the driver to make the most of my 256 MB graphics card. Can anyone help please?
  So far I did the following:
  1. re-installed Windows XP
  2 re-installed the driver NVIDIA about 5 times already.
  3. update all the drivers of my motherboard.
  4. completely removed all traces of NVIDIA using Drive Cleaner and put it back.
  5 installed DirectX 9.0.
  Still, none of them worked. Help!

  I suggest to start the computer in safe mode and check if you can start.

  If you are able to start the computer in safe mode, then go to Device Manager and uninstall the drivers for the graphics card and restart the computer.

  If it boots fine in normal mode and then try to install the latest drivers in normal mode and check if that helps.

  I have the solution by chance. I was looking for the latest drivers GeForce for Windows 7 x 64 and I read the accompanying note: http://fr.download.nvidia.com/Windows/337.88/337.88-win8-win7-notebook-release-notes.pdf
  On page 17, you can read the following note to fix: "[GeForce FX 770 M] [portable]: blocking of the blue screen occurs after Windows starts."
  
  Of course, GeForce FX 770 M does not exist (and never was), and it should be Quadro FX 770 M. I can bet that nVidia has corrected this famous BSOD problem in the wrong driver because always there is nothing about any "Quadro FX 770 M - fix" in the note accompanying the latest Quadro (340.52) driver.

  You try the GeForce driver above, but to install it, you may need to download an INF file modified with the addition of the ID of Quadro FX 770 M (= "NVIDIA_DEV.065C ="NVIDIA Quadro FX 770 M"). Try without the first modified INF file because the Quadro FX 770 M is listed as a compatible chip in the version of the driver GeForce 337.88 note...

  Most graphics cards require BIOS version 8 HP.  BIOS version 8 is listed under Windows 8 for your particular model PC.  While the BIOS version 8 will probably support your new graphics card, you might find yourself stuck that Windows 7 will not work using the UEFI. You can install BIOS and then turn on legacy mode and see if the card works. However, if the card is a single card UEFI well then you are in a situation of 'catch' 22 In this case, you would have the BIOS later and W7 should always work in legacy mode.  Even with this BIOS update running in mode inherited that there could be some risk that W7 will not work.  Once you update the BIOS there is no coming back.

  Another thought.

  There are no Windows Ultimate 10 version if upgrading to W10 (free upgrade) would you put on the professional version W10. I do not know if that would suit your needs. However, if you have a place in the upgrade by using the W10 iso DVD or flash drive then you could extract the W10 license key so that your could do a clean install with legacy mode turned off in the BIOS that puts your PC into UEFI mode.

  You have a few risks to consider.  In addition, HP has not posted the W10 for your PC drivers.

  What would I do?  I'd go for it, but then my wallet could be deeper than yours.
