Unable to load Windows XP? Help!

I am trying to load Windows XP on my laptop Compaq A900.  On the screen that list partitioned and existing space on this computer, it says 'Unknown disc ' there is no nothing if I say I want to create a partition and if I hit enter says a problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.  Is the error code comes up with is 0x0000008E.  I tried several times and it keeps coming back.  Help, please! Thank you

I don't know where you see it. Most laptops come with a picture of factory restore on a special partition on the hard drive. The factory restore process is normally called by pressing a key of function (such as F11) to start the computer. There will be a message as to what function key press the screen when you start your computer. You can also consult the manual of your computer or the computer mftr.'s site, or contact technical support to learn how to restore your computer if you plant from each computer mftr. He does it differently - sometimes even between models.

These machines also generally have a utility to create physical recovery disks in case the hard drive needs to be replaced or the factory restore image is somewhat damaged. If you have not created the recovery image recovery physical and/or damaged disks, contact technical support of computer mftr. to order a set of recovery disks. It is normally very expensive, around $20-25.

Looks like you are trying to do the recovery or the Windows installation and that won't work.

  • Unable to load Windows 7 on Satellite C850D

I bought this C850D of the Satellite in May this year and was Win 8 pre-loaded. My son does not so I decided finally to remove it and load Win 7. I took the hard drive out and formatting and repartioned the hard drive, but when I went back and tried to load Win 7 I get problems.

Initially I couldn't get anything to work then v = changed the parameters of the UEFI BIOS to boot but now I get continually

Restart, and then select the appropriate boot device

I have removed the ability to network with no luck because the hard drive is located in the BIOS settings and tried to change the boot order

I tried to boot from USB, CD/DVD and also loading direct to hard but nothing... and says now is that no operating system.

    Is there a solution?

Please help as I got to a point to throw the laptop against the wall haha

    Hello

You have defined the to the CSM UEFI boot mode. It's a good point, but you forgot to turn off the secure boot option that is also part of the BIOS settings.

Secure boot prevents booting from other sources and therefore, you are not able to boot from the CD/DVD or USB memory stick drive.

So turn off the secure startup, and then try again.

  • MSG for error in Windows 7: "unable to load DLL 'Gpib - 32.dll': the specified module could not be found."

Hi people, I have a project in VB. NET (VS2010 specifically), which has been updated from an old VB6 project. The old project

use Niglobal.bas and Vbib - 32.bas to communicate with the GPIB plugged into one of our litters.
Now in the 64-bit Win7 with the Niglobal.bas and the Vbib - 32.bas converted to Niglobal.vb and Vbib - 32.vb,.

I get an error when debugging to

    Public void RegisterGPIBGlobals()

in the Vbib - 32.vb, the error msg says:

Unable to load DLL 'Gpib - 32.dll': the specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)

It seems like this Gpib - 32.dll, that I found under SysWOW64 on my Win7 is not designed for a 64-bit application and when I copy this dll file on

C:\Windows\System32, the msg of error becomes:

An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B)

So I think my question is double: 1. the drafting of my own app in VB. NET can I still use Gpib - 32.dll (including the Niglobal.vb and Vbib - 32.vb)?

2 Will the application I am writing with .NET work in x 64 Windows 7?

The Almighty gurus and Mods please help. Thank you!

Hi Joel, thanks for the answer! I have the 3.0.2 driver.

I was looking around for a while after I posted here and further in the use of NI4882 manual, page 4-4, I found this:

«To bring an application in an environment 64-bit requires the application to migrate the NI4882 API and be recompiled.»

So I'm ditching the gpib - 32.dll (vbib - 32 & niglobal) and currently I am using NI4882.dll and restructuring of my project.

  • Got the error saying that unable to start Windows. Now, it freezes after loading Windows.

Original title: Windows Recovery Error Question

Earlier I was looking at my computer, running a virus because my computer scan playing strange earlier. Every time I start Windows, I would be spammed with windows titles 'open with... '. ». I managed to open the Task Manager and get rid of all of them, but my computer shifted significantly again. Whenever I close it and restart the same thing would happen. I opened my virus scanner and started running it. Of course, he had a virus.

As I was waiting for the analysis at the end, my computer suddenly closed and restarted without any warning at all. It froze on the splash screen. To stop and restart my computer again, I received a message that says:

"Unable to start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. If Windows files have been damaged or misconfigured, Startup Repair can help diagnose and fix the problem. If the power was interrupted during startup, choose Start Windows normally. »

I was given two options: Launch Startup Repair (recommended) and start Windows normally. When I select the Startup Repair tool, I am taken to a screen with a loading bar that says "Windows is loading files... ». After loading, the screen would freeze. If I try the other option, I am taken to the splash screen and it would freeze.

Is it possible to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

I suggest to unplug an external device connected to the computer and then try to start the computer and check if it helps.

Otherwise I suggest you to contact the computer manufacturer for help.

  • Help, please! computer HP laptop g72 does not load windows

I can't get my laptop to initialize. I was it clean and running virus/spyware scans when it overheated and judgment (something he seems to do more in more often lately), I came back to the room to check on it and he stopped. He gave me the usual message about how he had disappeared in hibernation because the internal temperature exceeded blah blah blah (don't remember exactly what he said, but it wasn't the basics of it) now normally at this stage it will restart and be well and I can continue with what I was doing before. However this time it will not go beyond the second screen. It's what he does... (I will include the information in the end system)

I press the power button then screen shows the following

1 HP screen of the logo with the message "Press ESC for Boot Menu" at the bottom left then flashes to the next screen.

    2. starting Acronis Loader...
Press F11 for Acronis Startup Recovery Manager... (horizontal cursor flashing after...) then flashes to view the first screen again

and this process is repeated again and again until I got disabling or press ESC to #1 screen or F11 to the screen #2 how it will load either the menu start screen where I can access info sys diagnotics, BIOS or system recovery system.  or Acronis where I can make backup dics or start the Recovery Manager (who I'm trying to deal with the system if that is possible at this time because there are pictures and things on the hard drive that I want not deleted if it can be avoided)

the process is normal to start but after #2 it should be blank with blinking cursor and then begin loading windows... I cannot at this point. He repeates just the first two times, I let it run for about 10 minutes at a time to see if she would do anything else, and it won't.

I bought this computer used. The battery has never held a charge, I've always had it up to use it, but I don't know if I had to buy a new battery it would probably work. I never had the money to make and never really needed it so never bought.

I tried to access the BIOS and it requires system administrator password. I tried to enter my password that I used to connect to windows, but that did not work. After 3 tries I have a message to disable the system with [6207076] below.

Is there someone who can help me to fix it?

I really don't want System recover unless there is a way to access the LIBRARY (documents, music, pictures) if I can help it. I don't have the ability to transfer all of my photos from my other computer before that happened.

    Please help me!

    Hello

The code below should allow you access the bios menu:

    76165078

Once, I would like to delete the password entirely - use the arrow keys to select the Security tab and press ENTER.  Use the arrow keys again to select the admin password option and press ENTER.  Enter the current password (use the above code), and then for the new password, just leave this blank and press on enter – do the same for the confirmation field.  Press f10, select this option to save the new settings and press to enter.

Once completed, boot into the bios menu and reset the default settings - it may also be useful running a quick diagnostic on the HARD disk and the memory that is to be found under the Advanced or the diagnosis tab.

    Kind regards

I'm unable to located my Windows CD to reimage the system vista. Where I can I down load Windows Vista Home Basic?

    Hello

There is no free and legal Vista download

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed
