Unable to open programs after attack XP Antivirus 2010

I have a hp a305w with Windows XP computer. Several days ago, I was attacked by the Antivirus XP 2010. Needless to say it was a mess. the weird part. that it only affected my journal. There are 4 other people who use this computer. all other sites are fine.

This attack has affected the firewall and I couldn't do anything at all. somehow my wife got rid of this thing. I deleted and reinstall direct care but could not access the program. I got a 'valid' not a program, or if I tried something else that I "cannot locate" or a box appears with 'open with' I finally got a care with the open with box and ran at least 5 scans, no virus found. I was able to down load a registry cleaner, had to use the box and ran the program. Well this made things even worse. It was a restore, so I did and back to the drawing board. What iam asking is how can I solve my problem without affecting everyone. your help will be greatly appreciated.

You have a rootkit. Rootkits intervene with AV sites at the DNS level requests so that you will continue to use your computer (thus having a greater chance of spreading the virus, Trojan or other villains in that he left). The simplest solution is to simply save important files and restore the system... I'm sorry.

There are there rootkit removal tools, but my impression is that it is much better to start over. Why? because you usuallyhave to use several tools in succession, the removal of the malware and rootkit. Search the Web for 'rootkit removal' is a good place to start if you are unable to perform a recovery.

    Original title: MS Office programs do not open after installation of Windows update to Windows Vista operating system

    After having decided to install the Windows Update my computer told me was available all my software as my programs MS Offfice is no longer open.  I don't know what to do.  The only thing that still works is the Windows Media Player.  I can't open Word or Excel, I can't access my photos.  Open Internet Explorer is like a weird nightmare but I am able to access the Internet.  I tried reinstalling my MS Office software, which did not work.  I have no idea what to do to solve the problem, but I need my computer back. It was good except for its slow, when I open certain programs, now I can't access something.  Any ideas what I should do to correct the nightmare?

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
  • Cannot open programs after format
    Hello
    My Dell Latitude running windows 7, beat back a bit.  I used the disc of windows 7 to reinstall windows 7 Home premium 64-bit.
    Everything worked well, I enabled full windows, but currently no program but those built will be open correctly.
    I have re downloaded programs, ensuring that I have 64-bit versions. But they don't always work.
    Why is this happening?
    Thank you!
    Microsoft Security Essentials is free.  I recommend using this free online scanner to determine the malware has not invaded the system and then install the software security from this link.  Yes, you should always have installed antivirus software.
    Scan online
  • still unable to open programs...
    ran the scan to microsoft computer; always impossible to open other programs malware or anything else at all. always get the "which program you want to open it with" for my browser (which, fortunately, I can open it) and "this application is not found" for others. If I can't run the malware to eliminate the virus which is believed to be the cause, otherwise, how can I solve this problem? is it possible to manually find the problem?
    You can files with the .com extension?
    Try this exeHelper if your AV to mark the file as virus ignore - disable its shields, because it is not a virus.
    Please download exeHelper to your desktop.
    http://www.Raktor.NET/exeHelper/exeHelper.com
    Double-click on exeHelper.com to run the fix.
    A black window should appear, press any key to close once the fix is completed.
    If you can run the .com extension you can just rename the scanners for .com
    You also need to configure Explorer to display or show extensions of known type.
  • Cannot open programs after the removal of virus to the AVG Virus Vault and rebooted.
    Hi, I have AVG 2011 Free Edition and when I had a virus, AVG it is removed from the quarantine. He then told me to restart the computer to finish. So I restarted and I noticed that the programs which usually start up when I turn on the computer start (like AIM and others). In addition, when I try to open a program for example Firefox, it tells me to choose a program to open the file. It's really annoying and it won't let me choose a default program to open a specific file. Thank you all for the help!
    Hello
    Your best bet may be to restore your system to a point before that you have a virus. I hope it wasn't too long.
    You will need a Vista DVD. If you do not, you can barrow one.
    Here is a nice step by step guide with pictures
    It is a file associated with a program called Tune Up Utilities 2010.
    Tune up Utilities is a suite of utility software for Microsoft Windows designed to help manage, maintain, optimize, configure and troubleshoot a computer system.
    Method 1: Uninstall and reinstall Tune - Up Utilities 2010 and see if that helps.
    Step 1: Uninstall tune-up Utilities 2010.
    Download tune-up from here:
    http://download.tune-up.com/TUU2010/TU2010TrialEN-GB.exe
    Method 2: I also suggest that you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.
    The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.
    Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
    Important: During the scan of the hard drive if bad sectors are found, the scanner tries to repair this sector, all available on which data may be lost.
  • After the reset, I was unable to open Firefox. A prompt appears indicating that my profile was missing. I've saved my favorites, deleted and reinstalled and still
    I was unable to open to open Firefox after an automatic upgrade - black screen. Used safe mode and attempt to reset. Soon became apparent "missing profile". Removed and reinstalled. Same prompt.
    This is usually caused by a problem with the file profiles.ini and the profile marked as the default value = 1 in this file is no longer present on the hard drive.
    • Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\
      C:\Users\ < user > < profile > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.
    • Linux: ~/.mozilla/firefox/
    • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox /.
    You can use one of them to make the Creation/use of a new default profile for Firefox:
    • Remove the profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile
    • Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile
    • Use "Choose a folder" when you create a new profile to select the location of a lost profile and recover this profile
