Unable to play XBOX music in Windows Media Player

Hello.

I have the neck of XBOX music and I am not able to play .wma music downloaded using the music app (I use 'Add to my music' in the music App) in Windows Media Player. The message that appears is:

-----
www.Xbox.com
There is a problem with the usage rights of the item you are trying to play. To refresh your music rights:
1. start the Zune software on your computer
2. connect
3. read article in the Zune software

Now you are ready to try to play the item using Windows Media Center or Windows Media Player
-----

Fair enough. I have Zune installed, when I try to open the same file .wma in Zune, I get the following:

-----
Cannot read
Cannot play, burn, or sync the protected file.

To see if there's more information about this error, click Help on the Web [web help there is no info on this error].

Error Code C00D11E7
-----

It worked for me.
Start Zune, then sign in to your account with xbox music subscription.
Settings > account > subscription history > restore all.
It will download any music that is not "in the Collection" and store them in \Subscription 'music library except location.
then try to play the music in WMP. It should now play the two songs of XBM and Zune.

To resolve this problem, you can try to install Audio codec and check if the problem persists.

A codec is a software to compress or decompress a digital media file, such as a song or a video. Windows Media Player and other programs use codecs to play and create digital media files.

A codec can consist of two components: an encoder and a decoder. The encoder performs the compression function (coding) and the decoder performs the decompression function (decoding). Some codecs include both components and some codecs only one of them.

For example, when you rip a song from an audio CD on your computer, the player uses the default Windows Media Audio codec to compress the song into a compact WMA file. When you play that WMA file (or any WMA file that may be broadcast from a Web site), the player uses the codec Windows Media Audio to decompress the file for music can be played through your speakers.

  • Music in windows media player will stop playing at the end of the song

Original title: at the end of the songs sound problem

When playing music in windows media player there are a couple of secpnds of silence at the end of each file-music

    Hi ccjerry,

1 when was the last time it was working fine?

    2. did you of recent changes on the computer?

If the music in your library skips or the audio breaks up when you play in Windows Media Player, it might be a problem with the sound driver installed on your computer. In general, this type of problem occurs towards the end of the songs (in the last 20 seconds or almost).

In some cases, you can work around the problem by disabling optional speaker effects that are collectively known asimprovements. If the disabling effects speaker resolves the problem, you may need to update your audio driver.

    (a) Sound open by clicking on the Start button and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type sound, and then click sound.

    (b) on the playback tab, click speakers, and then click Properties.

    (c) click the enhancements tab, and then select the checkbox disable all improvements .

If you do not see the enhancements tab in the speakers properties dialog box, these features are not available for your speakers, and this procedure is not applicable to your computer.

If disabling audio enhancements solves the audio problem you are having, this indicates usually that your audio driver needs to be updated.

Can I play a video file of .asx with WMP? or if not, how to play with this extension .asx files?

When I try to play the file, WMP shows error then update says "video codec".

How then can I get this update for the video codec?

    Thank you, Michael Phelps 907

    Hi Mike,.

an .asx file is not a media file. It is a file that contains a pointer to a content online. So if you are unable to read a .asx file and are able to play other files using Windows Media Player so the best thing is to open the .asx, a Notepad file. When you open the .asx using Notepad, you will see a link that starts by http: and so on. Please copy this link and go to Windows Media Player. On the Windows Media Player window, press the Alt key on the keyboard and click file and Open url. Paste the link and check if Windows Media Player is able to open the link. If she opens the link this is a problem with the formatting of the .asx file and if it does not open the link then it is a problem with the server online of the .asx file. It could be that it is deleted from the server.

Hope this information helps. Keep us informed on the status of the issue.
