Unable to remote desktop to VM Machine
Hello
I'm new to VM environment so please forgive the newbie questions.
I created a virtual computer on your laptop machine (A) and I am trying to remote desktop from another laptop (B) of the virtual machine and I can't do it. Check the settings of the remote desktop, and I authorize the audited machine remotely.
I followed the instructions from http://geekswithblogs.net/NewThingsILearned/archive/2009/11/13/connect-to-vmware-virtual-machines-using-remote-desktop.aspx
I can't do a ping computer laptop (B) virtual machine, however, when the ping of the laptop, (B), of the virtual machine, works. Also, I cannot remote into the laptop (B) of the machine of the virtual computer.
Another problem is that I can't seem to connect the machine to the computer virtual from Windows Explorer Mobile (A) using \\Machine Name\C$.
I enjoyed looking for this!
Thank you!
Your NAT configuration doesn't seem right! You transfer your host port 9997 to 192.168.123.16:443. However the NAT network is 192.168.142.0 and your VM has the IP 192.168.142.128, so that the transmission must go to 192.168.142.128 Port 3389.
For C$ access try to use the IP address of the VM (unless you can verify the name of the virtual machine can be resolved correctly).
For example, try:
NET use * \\192.168.142.128\c$ u:dpm6400cf - vm\administrator *.
and enter the password when you are prompted.

I am unable to remote desktop to connect to my laptop
First of all, I looked through all the troubleshooting options on the microsoft page for troubleshooting remote desktop connection. None of these options worked for me. Even turning the firewall for my laptop worked. My laptop can remote access my office perfectly find it's just the reverse does not work.I think the problem is that I can't put my laptop to allow connections. My laptop home premium windows 7 don't have any remote desktop options in the "remote" of System Properties tab. I'm trying to access remotely to this laptop, but I am unable to probably for that reason. When I go to the Remote tab in system properties, all I see is a box for remote assistance and nothing on it as on my desktop, where it shows remote access options. Is there any solution for this? You have read obviously not what I wrote.
I actually did, but obviously, you thought that the respondents have the x-ray vision. "You wrote" ""first of all, I looked through all the troubleshooting options on the microsoft page troubleshooting remote desktop connection ' , but then you did not designate one page you may have consulted. As long as illustrative, I would say that you did not know that Windows 7 Home Premium machines cannot be the target of a remote desktop session. You need at least the professional version.

The success, but AnyConnect VPN cannot remote desktop
Hi all
I have a problem when I am unable to remote desktop in any PC LAN when I am connected via VPN. I can ping all the nodes inside the network and I can open a web page from my local PC address inside, as well. So it seems like it was only the RDP (3389) is affected. Remote access for PCs are turned on, as I am able to get to them via a different method (SBS Remote Web Access).
I'm a bit new to ASAs, so any help is greatly appreciated. TIA

This can result from Neatgear (192.168.1.1), drop the packets. You can have solutions on SAA by tapping the traffic on the inside of the interface on the ASA. Here's what you need to do:
vpn_nat_inside 10.0.1.0 ip access list allow 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0
NAT (10 vpn_nat_inside list of outdoor outdoor access)
Global interface (10 Interior)
This pat only vpn traffic entering the pool and will not have effect on anything else.
Kind regards

Gestures to win 8 works with Remote Desktop?
If I buy a Windows 8 machine that supports touch gestures and I use remote desktop to another machine which does not touch, gestures to work with the other machine. In other words, are the keys to click and drag to scroll gestures interpreted and passed on to the other box, as if they were actions of mouse?
The computer you connect needs to support touch. It doesn't matter if the target computer supports touch. For example, desktop applications Microsoft Remote for smartphones will allow touch on computer target Windows 8 because they are all touch screens.

Unable to connect to a remote server with remote desktop, another machine works
Windows XP Professional Remote Desktop connection
Hello
I recently bought a computer with Windows XP preinstalled Mac Professional and running Office remote version 2.1.0. I can't connect to my work server that is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. The most frustrating is that I also have an Air of Mac Book that has remote desktop version 2.0.1 which is able to connect. I checked I think all the security and the network settings between machines and am still unable to remedy the situation. Hoping that you may be able to guide me in the right direction.
Thank you
Hello lovers of Lorne.Your question of Windows is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums as it is related to connect to the server with workstation. Appropriate in instances of Windows Server.
Please post your question in the Windows Server forums.

Remote Desktop 6.0 error - try remotely on a Windows 7 computer from an XP machine
I have a XP machine and a Windows 7 computer, we are trying to remote into the XP machine. The two machines are connected to our network, but only the Win 7 machine is located in our area. When you try to distance in the Win 7 machine form the XP with Remote Desktop 6.0, I get the error message 0 x 80090330. I checked with my network admin identifiers are correct and still does not connect.
The XP machine is currently under service pack 2. Can we do anything without having to update the service pack?

External machines to Vista cannot RDP to a Server2012R2 running Remote Desktop Services
We have recently updated our server RDP to the server 2012R2 and installed the remote desktop Services. There is no problem to connect to it internally and externally the Windows 7 machines are able to connect once we install the updates of the following two:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2574819
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2592687
The problem is with the external Vista machines. They can connect to the original web interface (remote.xxxxxx.ca) and they see the Remote Desktop tab RemoteApps server and workstations, but clicking on the link just puts them in a loop "enter your credentials. Nothing in Event Viewer that I choose to see what he's blocking me. None of group policy or NPS that I can see which could block access.
As mentioned earlier, internally a Vista machine works very well, outwardly this same machine won't be able to connect. No problem at all with Windows 7 or 8/8.1
Thanks for your help.
This issue is beyond the scope of this site and must be placed on Technet or MSDN

I can not remote desktop in a Win 7 machine
Since August patches, we cannot int remote desktop a Win 7 machine. It lets me initially and then loses the connection. So when I try to find it again, it is not found. If I reboot, think likewise. Allows to connect you then disconnects the session, don't me even find the machine...
Any ideas. Not him did not do anything for the firewall. In fact, I think that people with reduced mobility. IM in the same office with the machine. Thank you.

If this is not the case, have you tried to go back in time to a restore done just before point what happens then replace updated one by one to see which one is causing the problem?

My desktop (host) is running Win7 Pro and my (client) laptop is running Win 7 Home Premium. For the office, I went to the control panel and allows remote connections. When I try to connect with the laptop in my same home network, I get an error message: Remote Desktop cannot connect to the remote computer you for one of the following reasons:
(1) remote access to the server is not enabled
(2) the remote computer is disabled
(3) the remote computer is not available on the network
Now, the computer is on and I can see what he listed as one of my computers on network. In fact, I accessed the command of remote desktop by right-clicking on the desktop in the list of networks and by selecting Remote Desktop in the menu dropdown.
Obviously, I am missing something or something wrong. Please help me to understand.
What do you call the remote [DRC] host desktop desktop machine, IE. local LAN IP static, the laptop?
See this help as possible...

Remote Desktop credentials does not-2 windows 8 pro machines
Trying to office remote set-up for the first time in a few years. 2 win 8 pro with a lot about farting machines I can see the two machines on the network, I configured the write permissions and can access files and folders, I get the login prompt and even jumped through all the hoops here:
Add a user account to a groupI put not too windows firewall.
When I try to login and get a safe area of windows saying my credentials did not work. He asks me to connect using my microsoft account. The account I have to connect on both computers with - so I know the password is correct. I try to use another account (the two accounts on both computers use the same user name and password), and it always rejects it.
I tried to connect to my account online and get an error, and then the password was rejected, so I reset the password. I tried logging in tp remote desktop using this password, but that does not work either.LogMeIn took like 5 minutes to Setup. I've been at this for hours

Unable to see the Collections in remote desktop Services in Server Manager
It doesn't seem to be a category for Windows Server for some reason, so I apologize if this is in the wrong category:
We recently had an administrator leave our of the it group, and he was the one who had set up our fund services / remote server. Recently, we wanted to deploy another remote application and found that we were not able to see the "Collections" option in the server in remote desktop services manager. The only option listed is "servers". However to reactivate the account administrator and the server like him gave us all permissions to see the option of Collections and to deploy another remote application.
My question would be, this is a policy of setting Group / somewhere that is limiting the other users of the full access to Office services in Server Manager remotely. I looked everywhere on the server (and google) to see if I could find where this setting is vain. Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

I have a computer set up at home as a hobby-Web server, designated 'Server', Windows 7 Professional (Swedish language version). The server has installed Norton Internet Security. Standard port in the firewall is open to allow remote desktop connections.
I can't connect to the server by using remote desktop, unless...
When I open the network - and center of the share on the server, under view your active networks, my internet connection ('designated network 8' by Windows) has the value 'Public network '.
I can not connect to the server.
If I change "Network of 8" to "Home network" or "Work" - so I can connect to the server by using remote desktop.
But if I put the adapter network/public IP of my server to "Home network", is not my compromised security more than it already is when I encouraged Remote Desktop? I don't want to let my Internet connection to the home network, because the point of having different settings is because I want to have my internal network to a lower level of security for access to the network drive.

Unable to wake Windows 8 Pro of wakefulness with Remote Desktop
Separated from this thread.
"Allow this device to wake the computer" is grayed out and the only option is to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." and it is checked. I use Windows 8 Pro.
His driver and network adapter must be able to support remote activation. In addition, functionality, if any, must be enabled on the network adapter. You must be an administrator to change the configuration of the network adapter. Also, BIOS of your computer (available during the boot process) must be configured to allow "Wake on LAN". See my more detailed post from January 2013 for more information.
You can also try the following in the following order: (1) uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" - and see if the other options are then is more shaded. and then (2) check the box "allow this device to wake the computer"; and then the last step (3) check the box "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
I managed to use Remote Remote Desktop (to half way around the world) for inbound via my firewall access and wake my computer Windows Pro 8.1 and allow me to connect. A Security Council, you can choose one port other than the default remote desktop (3389) to make it more difficult for pirates.

I recently updated my computer to Windows 7 Pro. I also have a laptop running Vista Pro. I have configured remote desktop on my Windows 7 machine to allow my laptop to access and it works fine when I work the two machines on the same Linksys WRT54 router, here at my small business. I have configured my router to allow communications to port 3389, but as soon as I take my computer laptop home, I can't access my desktop computer. I have to configure my home router as well? It's a new Motorola ADSL router/modem and no place in the configuration to allow port forwarding or port address. Help!
Hello
We are unable to access a computer from another computer if they are in another network by using remote desktop.
If they are in the same network, use the following links as reference:
