  It could be that an add-on is causing this problem. First, click on the Firefox button > help > restart with disabled modules.   When I type the first few letters in the sign in box on the Yahoo Mail sign in page via my Firefox browser last edition (Windows Vista) my clickable shows of Hotmail address in the drop-down list instead of my Yahoo address, (both begin with the same word.) so I then need always typing in my correct Yahoo address to connect. Internet Explorer gets this right, making me think it's a browser problem.

• Unable to send mail from Yahoo mail Surface RT application

  For several weeks, the Soft Surface mail has posted a message saying that it is currently impossible to send e-mail on my Yahoo account.

  I could solve this problem.  I removed the Yahoo account since the mail app and then it added back as if it were new.  At least for the moment, which seems to have solved the problem and I can send by e-mail.  I'm still puzzled why it happened, but maybe I should be glad it is fixed with minimal effort.

  With respect to the application of mail, I love because it is bigger and clearer to read and use than using IE page.  Yes, IE works, but it's just a little small and so be more careful when clicking, etc.  More difficult to use the IE window without a mouse or a stylus. I normally use a mouse but occasionally led her to use the keyboard with no mouse on the screen and find my fingers are clumsy to hit the right spot.  The mail application is therefore easier in this regard.  But I agree IE works fine.

• After the update to 38.4.0 compaction to zero my Inbox and I can no longer connect to yahoo mail.

Then I realized something simple and obvious. TB do not have to give me my password to connect to Yahoo, when I start TB. What is happening with this? I have no idea what needs to be changed or fixed! I'm almost ready to start using Outlook.

  I think that your anti-virus is having a cow. Try to restart the operating system in safe mode with network. This loads only the basics needed to start your computer while allowing Internet access. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OSX

  If the safe mode for the operating system to resolve the problem, there are other software on your computer that is causing problems. The possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as updates of the program.
