Unable to turn computer and Windows 7 updates

Hello

Earlier today, my computer has the latest updates for Windows 7 installed on it, I believe that those who have a Service Pack of Windows 7, and now when I push the power button on the computer, it will be impossible to turn on.  Is updates, that the reason why the computer has failed.  It was working fine this morning with no sign of problems.

If the computer isn't able to turn it on, it's sounds more likely to be a problem with the power button or power.

  • Down computer after windows XP updated today

    Hello!
I hope someone can help me.
This afternoon a microsoft XP update came through on my computer and they said should be restart to take effect. I opened outlook and the internet. I said that I should restart later.
The computer then froze and perhaps rather looking forward I turned it off after that it does meet.
It will now not start upward and from the beginning he just tells me to choose the safe mode option, (with netweoking & compant promt, last known good configuration and finally start normally.)
I went through each of these options, but none works and it keeps just bike around every 30 seconds in the same.
I tried to put my Windows disk in and start one and it tells me that there is no hard drive :(
What happened and can anyone suggest what I could do?
I am a teacher and I have all my files on the computer that are not saved :(:(
    Thanks in advance
    Ruth

    Hi JoeRuth,

Thanks for posting. If after you insert your Windows XP disc you still do not see the hard drive there are chances that you have hardware failure any. To backup your data, I would recommend if you are uncomfortable or you know someone who is comfortable with the computer hardware, remove the disc and by adding it as a secondary drive to a different PC with a Windows installation already in place. This will allow you to browse and backup your files if your hard drive still works.

After your files are backed up, then you should try to do a repair on the operating system installation if your hard drive is detected. If your hard drive is still not detected and you have no RAID volume or unrecognized SATA jury, you will have to buy a new hard drive and install a new OS. As with any hardware problems, if your computer is an OEM I highly recommend that do you to troubleshoot and perform diagnostics before making replacements.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any questions. Shawn - Support Engineer - MCP, MCDST

  • Conflict between the settings of the computer and Windows Live Mail

I have a conflict between my computer settings, Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Hotmail/Calendar.  When the computers ' regional and Language Options | Date - short Date Format"settings are set to"dd-MMM-yy"is in conflict with the Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Hotmail/Calendar 'date of birth and birthday' date formats.  Whenever a date is placed in the Windows Live Mail "birth date and birthday" field the date in the field becomes "mm/dd/yy" which generates a conflict in date format.  Enter "mm/dd/yyyy" in the date field of "birth date and birthday" in Windows Live Mail when your computer settings are set to "dd-MMM-yy" and Windows Live Mail passes the numbers 'mm and JJ '.  Is there a solution?  I'd like to see dd-MMM-yy on my computer.

  • System volume information stolen hard drive. VERY slow computer and windows show only (not answer) for 2 to 10 seconds at a time. Help, please.

After starting my computer to Windows 7 Enterprise, I noticed that it runs very slowly.  for example, the scrolling of a window of firefox crashes every 10 seconds or more.  The gel lasts between 2 and 10 seconds with the little blue wheel, spinning, (not answer) in the toolbar.

I pulled the top of resource monitor and to see that 4 PID - C:\System Volume Information\ {guid} {guid} is running non-stop with about 720ko read by writing dry and 6 MB per second Disk 0 length of the queue is pegged at 5.  from time to time (once every 10 to 15 minutes), the queue goes to 0 and the computer starts acting normally (i.e. fast) again.  But once the length of the queue points to 5, the problems continue.

I am running in raid 5.

I noticed that vssvc.exe is running (PID 4144) with a reference to c:\System Volume Information and the same GUID as PID 4 - system and kernel.

Any idea what I can do to get back on my computer?  At this point, it is absolutely unusable.

    Thank you

  • new computer and windows disk install problem

I bought a new processor MB ram graphics card components but I left my ssd drive and there is a problem... when I tried to install windows, it told me my MBR disk and must be TPG to install windows... but I don't have windows on my SSD because I did the format of this drive... Pls tell me how I can install windows on this drive.

    Hi Kelly,

This could be due to the fact that the partition may have changed for the hard drive.

I suggest you to connect the hard drive to a working computer and then convert the partition to the disk GUID partition table format.

Follow the steps for a computer of Windows 8:

    (a) save or transfer the data to the MBR basic disk (MBR) record that you want to convert into a disk GUID partition table (GPT). If the disc does not contain any partitions or volumes, go to the next step.

    (b) press the Windows and X key, then select disk management.

    (c) if the disk contains no partitions or volumes, go to the next step. Otherwise, click on all volumes on the disk and then click Delete Partition or Delete the Volume.

    (d) right click on the MBR disk that you want to change into a GPT disk and then click convert to GPT disk.

  • Updated Windows rebooted my computer and installed the updates last night and now my login password is different and I can not connect. Help?

I put my computer to sleep last night and when I woke up this morning it has restarted and was sitting on the login screen.  This occurs when windows update itself - and I absolutely hate it by the way.

When I entered my password, it says that it was incorrect.  I had the same password for a long time, so the only thing I can think is that the update of windows somehow changed my password.  I have Vista Ultimate 64 b.

I did not create a password recovery disk - how can I get my account to change my password?

    Hello

It is available on you microsoft information help on problems with passwords

If you are unable to connect to Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use the Windows Vista System Restore feature, or the Windows 7 system restore feature.

You may be unable to connect to Windows Vista or Windows 7 in the following scenarios:

    • Scenario 1: You recently set a new password for the protected administrator account. However, you don't remember the password.
    • Scenario 2: You type the correct password. However, Windows Vista or Windows 7 does not accept the password because the system is damaged.
    • Scenario 3: You delete a protected administrator account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.
    • Scenario 4: You change an administrator account protected with a standard user account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.

    Hi James,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community and thanks for posting the question.

According to the description, you have problems installing updates.

The problem may occur due to incorrect parameters with Microsoft Installer logging.

Perform operations from the links below and see if it helps.

You cannot install some programs or updates

You may receive a "0x8007F0F4" error code when you try to install the updates on the Windows Update Web site or the Microsoft Update Web site

Important:  This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

  • Brand new computer and Windows Update offers updates of pilot

I received a custom build e9280t yesterday and did the thing of the installation and migration.  Windows Update offers already updates for the ATI Radeon HD 4850 video card and JMicron JMB36X controller.  I guess I have several questions.

1 can I install drivers provided by Windows Update

2 How often should I update drivers?

    3. in the case of the video card should I update from Windows Update or ATI?

    4. If I install ATI should I install the ' ATI Catalyst™ 9.11 Suite for Windows 7 (64 bit) "or simply thedriver only option of the ATI Catalyst™ 9.11 components for Windows 7 (64 bit)?

I have a card ATI video in a long time and the outcome of pilot and the options have always confused me with what must be downloaded and installed.

    Thanks for any help.

John, here are the answers to your questions:

    (1) Yes, I would.  I wonder however, no offer to update your BIOS before checking further.  Updated HP has been known to be incorrect.  A failed BIOS flash makes it an expensive boat anchor.

    (2) update as soon as there is a new driver.  Manufacturers use updates to fix problems.

    (3) it's up to you.  I don't think that HP makes changes of owners of the video cards in their computers.  So, if it were me, I would use those ATI/AMD.

    (4) go with the 'Software Suite '.  This includes some cool utilities to adjust your map.  One of the features that I like is "Overdrive".  It allows you to overclock the card and adjust the speed of the fan on the fly.  I'm still using XP Pro SP3, but the last consequence works very well with my 4870 XXX 1 GB.

I hope this info is useful.

  • Itunes and Windows 7 update problems

Well, I have a question for all of you who are technically gifted with computers.

About two years my automatic updates for Windows 7 (64-bit SP1) has stopped working. Whenever I shut the computer down it would try to fail to install 40 of updates. I contacted Microsoft Tech that had me working with a level one and level 2 tech with no luck. In the end, I made the decision (finally not wise) just turn off updates.

    Fast forward to today. I tried to buy something from iTunes, but because my current iTunes was so far out of date (I rarely bother the upgrade whenever he asks) it did not work. No problem, I just downloaded the upgrade. Anyway, the installation failed, and now my iTunes does not... After digging a bit it seems that it's because Windows has not been updated in so long. As concise as possible here is what I tried so far;

    1. When iTunes was not installed it is because of the Apple Application do not install it. Everything else seems to be loaded to the right computer. So I extracted the installation individually with WinRar files and tried to install just the Apple Application (64 bit) only. But this does not work, when installing, I get the message;

An error occurred during the installation of assembly ' policy.8.0.Microsoft.VC80.CRT, type = 'win32-policy', version = '8.0.50727.6195", publicKeyToken ="1fc8b3b9a1e8e3b", processorArchitecture ="amd64 ". See Help and support for more information. EDH...

    It is at this time that I read online that people with my problem followed it back to the question of the Windows updates;

    2. I ran a scan disk error checking, run a total of three times, once to automatically challenge errors, then back to search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, and then a third time on the two while in safe mode. No luck. When I try and update Windows manually screen just sits there with the Green infinite loading bar.

    3. I ran sfc/scannow in cmd in normal and safe mode, once again, no change.

    4. I tried to install the Windows Update Standalone (I guess reinstalling the actual update of the program, rises like fix for Windows KB947821) it just sits there once the installation starts and will not be finished.

    5. I tried to clear the cache for the update, enter services, stopping the Background Intelligence Transfer Service and update of Windows and then delete all the files in the update, this at least reset the updater, then when I tried to download the updates again, I got an error (can't remember what it was, but it started with an "eight") and then some so I came back to the Green loading bar of doom...

    6. I also tried to run this Reset_Windows_Update_History.bat in a command prompt, but it did nothing.

    7. He was also something else that I tried to run in a command prompt to a forum, but that no longer works.

I've probably tried a few other things too... I just want to get my iTunes works again, my laptop is almost eight years old, so I don't have the Windows CD to reinstall it, and I don't want to 'upgrade' to another windows program. Suggestions/alternatives?

    Thank you!

    Hi Petedln,

It seems that you already do all troubleshooting steps for your concern.

You can also do the following:

    1. Run the System Update Readiness Tool.
    2. Clean boot the computer.

If the problem persists, try to create another user profile, and run Windows update from there.

Let us know how it goes.

    Kind regards.
