  I need allow users to install fonts without administrator privileges.  Googling landed a few eccentric tools, but this isn't an option... I can change the entries in registry, file & directory permissions, use Windows commands in batch scripts, etc. but I can not use any third-party downloads.  In addition, just save them to the police for the session cache is not enough... they should be able to install fonts in C:\Windows\Fonts directory.  It's OK, if they can not uninstall a font, allowing that could remove a font that Windows requires.

  As company policy is aimed at users have locked down PCs without administrator privileges on Windows 7, we met with a number of problems we couldn't solve completely.

  The only way we found to date that worked (sort of) was at the first mark the administrator user, connect to the Weblogic Server to run applications compiled for the first time and accept certificates and jar files downloaded and revoke admin rights after that.

  This should not be the case.  Like you, I work in an environment where standard users are not granted administrative privileges to their workstations and we did not have this problem.  We did something different - that I am aware of the - client side to allow the download.  JAR files are stored in the Java Cache Directory which should be open to all users.  Could your administrators have changed the privileges to this directory?

• Get error messages whenever I have try to defragment, & I also lost storage space. (less than 1%).

  I have a problem of the 2 part that has been building.  I get error messages whenever I have try to defragment, & then the Defragmenter stops.  I was just let go of the problem.  But then I noticed that I lost the memory space.  I deleted almost all of the programs that I can, but I still only 277MB of available memory (less than 1%).  I don't know what is using all my hard drive space.  There are only a few programs installed.  I'm also 99% fragmented.  Defrag won't work without releasing the memory of 15%, but even if I HAD the memory, all I ever get is an error message when I try to defragment.  Now, my computer is so slow, it takes about 3 minutes to open a web page.  As it should be obvious, I'm not all that tech savy.  What can I do?

  VRAM is not the same as ram.

  Check the specifications of your card and video program.

• HP15-g088ca: HP 15 laptop computer purchased less than 2 years ago. Broken hinge, display cases of separation. HP, please help.

  My son uses his laptop computer HP15 home to his office, rarely transporting.  He never gave it and a sweet user.

  The left hinge seems to be broken / defective, and separates the window.  For now, we are all leaving the screen open all the time, but it's a little awkward and the problem is certainly on a laptop less than 2 years old.

  Looking at the forum, it looks like a common problem.

  We are fans of HP in general, so I hope that this problem can be solved.

  HP solved the problem free of charge, including shipping in both directions and repair.

  It took ten days in total, and we used the laptop without a problem for about 10 days more.

  It seems that the hinges for laptop and the display case were entirely replaced, and no data has been lost.

  My son is thrilled to have his laptop in return, and to my eyes, HP just went through.

  I wouldn't hesitate to buy another HP product, although I confess in the hope that:

  (1) HP manufacuring no longer uses defective parts

  (2) HP treats everyone with this problem of hinge with the same care

  I suggest you to see these steps:

  • Press right on your mouse button when your desktop is visible. A menu will appear.
  • Move your mouse to the bottom of the menu and click on the word "Properties".
  • Look at the tabs under the marked blue title bar "display properties". You should be able to see one marked "screen saver". Click the screen saver tab once. You should now see a small monitor.
  • Look for the dropdown next to the marked buttons 'Settings' and 'Preview '. Click on the arrow down on the right side of the menu drop down.
  • Look at the list of available screensavers. The first menu is marked '(none) '. Click on this title. Once you have clicked on the title, the "Apply" button will become operational.
  • Click on the button apply. Close the display properties window and the Control Panel window. You have now properly disabled your screen saver.

  Reformatting and reinstalling Windows because you meet one
  problem is almost always a very bad thing to do.
  With a minimum of care, it should never be necessary to reinstall
  Windows (XP or any other version). I ran Windows 3.0, 3.1, WFWG
