  I don't want to argue, but your column of the MyLOVCount table contains the string "null", which is not equal to null.

  You not fill it but the fact is that there is the mystery.

  Your condition <... or="" mylovcount="" like="" '%null'||'%';="">is looking for the word "null".

  Please see the screenshots below; line with col1 = 'b' meeting condition tran_type is null and col1 = 'a' tran_type meeting = 'null '.

  You can do it by using dynamic action.

  Use the javascript code in the next thread to turn lov popup tabular icon.

  NOTE: instead of setting custom "row_item_disabled" CSS class use the integrated class APEX "apex_disabled."

• LOV and return value

  Hello

  I have a lov and the return value of this lov is assigned to a formval. I have a Viewobject VO1 which is attributed to the return values of point LOV. After selecting a value from the lov, I am tring to get the return value later of the viewobject Vo1 but he still presents as null.

  Don't know how to get the return value. Any help is appreciated.

  That's what I understood.

  You have a LOV which has 2 lovMaps, it returns the field of LOV and 2 returns the value for the FormValue field.

  The formValue field is mapped to an attribute of the VO.

  After you select the value from the LOV, you try to get the value returned to the FormValue using the VO attribute attached to the value of the shape.

  How are you trying to access the value and where?

  I have a datablock with 20 records and each record has a comment (say field_comments) fields. I would like to allow the user to choose LOV populated predefined comments (say lov_comments) and add a few additional comments after they choose the value of LOV.
  
  I created a LOV and added the return type 'field_comments' in column mapping properties. When the user clicks a button, LOV opens. They choose the value of the LOV and the value goes to the field 'field_comment '. The problem with this approach, the user cannot add their comments after selecting in LOV.
  
  I tried this too much. I created another area of non-visible text (i.e. fake). In the LOV, I added "dummy" field as returntype. In the dummy field, I created the trigger 'After the CHANGE', which basically says: block. field_comments =: block. Mannequin.
  
  But, the user must click another field to display the value selected from the LOV. The values of the 'field_comments' is not being updated as soon as the user click on the 'OK' button in the LOV.
  
  I'd appreciate if someone could give me feedback and help to solve my problem. Thank you for your help.

  Well, I tried exactly what you posted and it allowed me to SELECT from LOV, then CHANGE/ADD new text in front of returned value in the field. He recorded in the database and questioned without any problem.

  Your article is allowed to INSERT/update? If this isn't the case, then set yes "Update/Insert allowed" and attach your LOV to the element and set "post to list" No.

  You can also see if you have any validation done on WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM trigger or after CHANGE which will fail because you change LOV populated values.

  I am building a page with 2 fields LOV, and I need help for both sides.

  Details on my page:
  
  I have a page with 2 regions.
  -Region has
  ... LOV projectID
  -Region B
  ... LOV subTaskID
  
  I added an object controller for zone A base, and now I'm stuck.
  
  I want the page to work as:
  (1) when the user navigates to the firstpage, I don't want that region A show
  .... (the user must select a ProjectID)
  (2) after selection projectID and by clicking on a button, then refresh the pageand B in the region shows as well.
  .... (if the user can select a subTaskID)
  
  The subtasks shown depend on the selected projectID
  (I use a link WHERE TABLE.projectID = variable: 1 article)
  
  I do not know where to put the code for "make the region visible / invisible.
  And I do not know where to put the code to change this variable binding in region B LOV VO

  You must have a Lov controller that would call the method in Lov AM which still add the extra whereclause or bind the value of the existing where clause.

  Given that PoepleId is a number 4, allowing NULL. I want a NULL value will be inserted, if the user does not select anything in the drop-down list. It seems that I would get "ORA-01722: invalid number" error when the PeopleId msg is null (ie: user doesn't have a selection). What is the good 'return Null value' I need to put it in? I tried "NULL" (see above) or nothing, it still does not work.

  Hello Helen,.

  You have found one of the many sources of my frustration with APEX. Here's what I do:

  In the definition of the element in your page, go to the LOV part and implemented like this:

  Display Extra values: Yes a dynamic conversion (I ignore this)
  Number of columns: 1 display Null: No.
  Display null value: (leave blank) return Null value: (leave blank)

  An empty row is displayed when the user comes first to the screen. If they do NOT select the drop-down list, the value is left empty (null).

  If anyone has a better way, I will definitely experiment with it.

• Organization of the wrong understanding OSX and presentation files?

  I'm a former developer/project manager who comes to Mac OSX after 15 years with Linux and 10 years of Windows, and I find myself confused in how file names are presented under OSX. The documents seems to provide a list of all the documents independently rental; i.e. their location is not provided. There are tags that allow a file to be found quickly, but the hierarchy folder, subfolder... file doesn't seem to be easily configured or maintained.  Now, I believe that system developers who designed and built the operating system, which, under the covers, works great as Linux, have an intention here to leave the structure of the files for different applications, or renounce the Organization of hierarchical tags for files or I missed something quite fundamental (the latter more likely possibility).

  Does anyone know how better to organize files and folders? My counter top is becomes quite cluttered with files, alias of folders and files that I would normally be organize in folders and project areas. I probably could understand it, but I think that I'm not the first to ask the question.

  The short answer is to keep all your documents in the 'Documents' folder in your Home Directory, i.e.

  ~/Documents

  You will probably want to create subfolders for specific projects, as you always have. There are also a few folders with names like 'Photos' and 'Music' for obvious purposes.

  I have my office as a temporary area and try to ensure that there is that more nothing at the end of the day. (Many workplaces as this rule for the offices of the real world, which is where I got the habit.)

  You are right, Apple wants to get rid of the traditional tree-structure file system for users. There are compelling arguments for this security because it facilitates the sand-boxing-based application. But it is a daunting task because many people have 'project-based' work and keep everything about each project in a folder.

  Among other things, Apple attempted to replace the traditional file system with 'Tags', which nobody do not know I love him. Very few people have obsession for tags files constantly and I have, on the one hand, don't trust Apple to not abandon them at some point in the future if I rarely use them.

  Attempt of another, much more successful, is "Spotlight", who, on a good day, can work magically. Unfortunately, it's a little weird and does not work for all types of files.

  So, I still organize my files into a tree-like hierarchy supplemented by alias. Spotlight is a nice bonus. Maybe one day I'll take like tags, but not today.

• Shuttle with cascade LOV and pre-populating on the right side

  Good afternoon

  In my form, I have a piece of text to a certain number of tickets, a drop-down list for a site and a shuttle service to the employees of the site.  If I select a site in the drop-down list, the shuttle refreshes and I can choose employees.

  Here's the wrinkle, if I get a ticket number, it triggers a dynamic action to pick up the site and all selected employees.  I checked the values returned and the dynamic action works as expected.  When the site is updated, the shuttle refreshes, but the selected employees are not load in the right side of the shuttle.

  I tried to divide the dynamic action of the number of the ticket into two pieces: one to select the site and the other to select the selected employees.  In the hope that the dynamic actions would be the fire of the order of the site, refresh the shuttle and update the selected employees. But I don't always get the right side of the shuttle, populated.  I tried the process a few times with debug and dynamic actions do not always work in the right order, and when they do, the right is not be filled.

  I know that the right side of the shuttle can be loaded, but the dynamic action on the ticket number also retrieves the values for another shuttle this shuttle is based on a static select statement.

  Any ideas on how to get the right side of the shuttle completed when the selection is based on a LOV cascading?

  Another idea, is possible to launch a dynamic action when the left side of the shuttle is filled.  Then I could store employees selected in a temporary variable and load them after the shuttle is filled.

  I solved my problem.

  I added a variable temp for action dynamic ticket number for the value to be set on the right side of the shuttle.  I also added a refreshment after a dynamic action on the shuttle to set the value of the right side of the temp variable.

• A LOV and 3 shuttles

  I have a problem in my page: I have 3 shuttles, which all contain the same LOV.

  But when I select a value or multiple values in a shuttle, I want the selected values are disabled in the remaining 2 shuttles. Is this possible?

  Shuttle - 1: I selects the values "FRANCE" and "ENGLAND".

  -2nd and 3rd shuttle: the list on the left does not contain the values 'FRANCE' and 'ENGLAND '.

  Yes, I think that you can do.

  I think there are two difficult parts to this:

  (1) is to write the LOV to shuttle2 and shuttle3 to exclude the values of previous shuttles.

  Using the emp table, my LOV will look like this:

  For S1

  select ename d, ename r

  For S2

  select ename d, ename r
  from emp
  where ename in (
    select ename
      from emp
     minus
    select ename
      from emp
     where instr(':' || :S1 || ':', ':' || ename || ':') > 0

  (Note the: S1 is: Pn_S1)

  What I do here is to select the elements less than S1

  For S3

  select ename d, ename r

     where instr(':' || :S1 || ':', ':' || ename || ':') > 0
           or instr(':' || :S2 || ':', ':' || ename || ':') > 0
  )
  

  (2) make sure you enter S1 in the cascade LOV Parent point S2

  Enter the item Parent of LOV cascading of S3 AND S1 S2 in the "Page elements must send" so the LOV can use the new values.

  I created a quick test in apex.oracle.com (https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=55576:22) and it seems to work fine (except for S3 has no value after that something is added to S1 and until something is selected on S2). This should not be difficult to change.

• Trying to understand aggressive and moderate reports

  I ran an analysis on the platform of the client a couple of weeks and reports are now available.

  Basically, I get very aggressive with a moderate with 2 servers and 3 servers. very well, but I want to understand this, so that I can explain the reasons for my client.

  To do this, I tried to "adjust" aggressive relationship with the high resource servers and try to make offers only two servers (because I changed the model for bunch of carrots and RAM servers, high speed IO, etc..

  And not at all, even with defined servers with resources very high, I've failed to 2 servers. But if I set very low RAM (4 GB), I can make it go up.

  What I'm missing here?

  Let's say that I updated SGA_TARGET and SGA_MAX_SIZE 1024Mo 512 MB.
  
  As I understand it, this means that the total size of the SGA will never exceed 1024Mo (it's the "hard cap"). Oracle will try to keep things around 512 MB, but can explode up to 1024 MB, depending on the needs.
  
  Is this correct? Otherwise, I don't see the point of SGA_MAX_SIZE SGA_TARGET vs.
  
  BTW... I know that MEMORY_TARGET and MEMORY_MAX_TARGET are the new 11g params, but Oracle XE comes with those turned off and the 10g SGA_ * params and PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET updated...?

  It is not correct.

  This means that you can increase up to SGA_MAX_SIZE SGA_TARGET without having to bounce the database.
  Also Oracle won't increase SGA_TARGET, it will just make sure that the sizes of the different basins do not exceed SGA_TARGET.
  You are still responsible for the management of SGA_TARGET.
