Just reply: no, the WiFi network is not available on your device.
In this case you must use an external solution such as a USB WiFi key.

    Hey,.

Congratulations, you have already found the problem! :)

From my own experience, I can tell you that the same thing happened to a friend of mine. So he replaced the WLAN card with a new one and the problem has been resolved! Windows starts with WLAN turn on () correctly!

What WLAN card is installed on your laptop?
In Satellite M30x of my friend a WLAN Wireless Intel 2200 card has been installed. He bought a new one for little money on eBay and replaced it yourself because it s not very delicate.

So take a look on eBay or other places. You can also ask a maintainer approved assistance if you are not familiar with the disassembly of the laptop.

    Hello

You know this Toshiba WLan page:

    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/?page=downloads

Here you can download the driver for Wlan Intel PRO/Wireless 2200/2915 WLan.
    Latest version XP is 9.0.4.39.

First download the driver, then unzip it, go to Device Manager, mark card wireless network, use the Update Driver feature.
Use the Advanced installation procedure, and then point to the driver files, stored on the HARD drive.

It is a setup process manually

    Welcomes the Spike

    Hi Spike

I think that it s is not easy to say what the reason for this problem, but I recommend to update the WLAN and the BIOS driver. Please see the Web from Toshiba site for driver updates:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Satellite M30x is a bit more then it s moved * zone Archive. This means that you should choose archives on the first box, type product.

I want to replace an Intel PRO/Wireless 2000.
    The network adapter Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG with Satellite M30X-113 is compatible-so?

    Hello

In my opinion, you can use the WLan Intel 2200BG card in your Satellite M30X-113.
    The card should work properly.

PS: you need to connect also the two cables correctly to the antenna.

  • Errors when I try to use the WLAN on Satellite M30X

Hi, I have trouble with my WIFI.

I use a Satellite M30X 124, running on Windows XP. I installed a WLAN router.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Two different errors: the system starts, but fails when obtaining the IP address. Sometimes the WLAN stops after 10 minutes or so, normally if I don't use the Internet.

Looking for the reason why, I was looking for available wireless networks. Normally responses from WINDOWS, it cannot detect a WLAN, because another program uses WIFI and the router.
Is there a conflict between Microsoft Windows and TOSHIBA ConfigFree? How conflicts can be solved?

    Thanks for any help
    Christoph

    Hello Christoph

As a first step, I would like to clarify something. ConfigFree tool is fairly old Toshiba designed tool and works very well with Windows XP Home edition operating system. This tool is installed on, I believe, all models of Toshiba laptops. Just this argument says that if often installed and tested tool cannot be responsible for your WLAN problem.

In my opinion, there is a problem with the WLAN settings.

  • Dropped my Satellite M30X - now sound & WLan don't work

I dropped my Satellite M30X on the carpet, and now the WiFi and sound no longer work. (The wireless light is not turn on when I turn on the switch).

Is this a fixable problem or I have to buy a new computer? Please let me know.

    -Yvette

    > Is this a fixable problem or I have to buy a new computer?
Hmm. Maybe you won't need new computer, but a new hardware component.

I think you will understand that it is not easy to say what might be broken fact is that this must be a hardware problem. There may be a part lost contacts and it can be fixed very easily?  :|
I think that its worth to contact an ASP (certified partner) or a technician from portable to downtown and in what concerns control of the laptop.

I remember that my brother fell a laptop and it couldn't boot t upward.
Finally the technician discovered that the module ROM jumped. It is easy to fix

    Check it out man

  • Satellite L10-155 and Mini-pci

    Hello

    I plan to buy a Satellite L10-155.
I know there is no mini-pci wireless network card installed, but my question is: is there an empty available mini-pci SLOT which could hold such a card?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Ted

As much as I know this unit is not ready WLAN. That means there is no antenna and mini PCI card can not work at all. The only solution is the external device, as the card wifi PCMCIA or same WLAN USB stick.

    Good bye

  • Satellite P10 722: what Mini-PCI WLAN can I integrated?

    Hello

I have a Satellite P10 722. It seems to be ready wireless (it has an LED to show the WLAN activity). I would use an internal Mini-PCI card in it. Ideally, it would be a b/g card.

Anyone know what model/part number Mini-PCI card will work with this laptop.
She is not in the list of compatibility of the any of the maps on this page (http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/options_and_accessories_search.jsp?z=16&service=UK & selOptionCategory = 4696)

    Thanks for your help,
    Shane

    Hello Shane

Sorry, but this kind of information can give you just the authorized service partner. I don't know if the P10 722 is ready WLAN but you can check only. In the lower corner of the unit, you will find WiFi coverage. Remove it carefully and check if there are two antenna WLAN (black and white) cables. If so, the device is definitely ready WLAN.

Contact the Service partner and ask them for you to adapt to your model of laptop. As far as I know, the consultation is free.

Just for info. One of my friends has P10 with WLAN (802 11b Agere) card.

    Good bye

  • Satellite M30X: Trojan horse - total Formate with recovery disc?

    Hello

I had a Trojan horse on my Satellite M30X. My Antivirus deleted, but every time I've been connected to the Internet, it appeared again. Not connected to the Internet it doesn't give me any problems. As I couldn't get rid of him, I backed up all my data and do a fresh install from the recovery disc. As long as the button for LAN wireless is disabled, everything works fine, but just a little while, after I turned on it, I get a blue screen. When I restart my computer with WIFI turned on, it produces a blue screen before Windows is properly loaded, even during installation. I tried restoring 3 times, but it's always the same result.

1 is it possible, that the Trojan horse destroyed things of the pre installation?
    2. I can't choose to make a formatting during the recovery process. All data are lost, but I feel that's not formate the hard drive correctly, when everything is destroyed. It crushes just stuff?
    3. is there a way to make a good formatting, then install completely new Windows?

It is not a problem of my WLAN card, internet being no problem under Linux.

    Thank you for your help

    Todier

    Hello!

If you use the whole HARD disk Toshiba Recovery disk will be formatted so if you have any virus or Trojans on your laptop, they will be also deleted.

But what BSOD code are you have? Are you sure that's the reason why the virus?
You have the same problem if you connect a network cable to the laptop?

    Good bye

  • Cannot find the necessary drivers for Satellite M30X

I have 4 error codes displayed in hardware, 1 controller network, 2 & 3 PCI Flash Memory (twice) and 4 video controller (VGA compatible).

These are all driver problems, but I can't find the necessary drivers on the site of Toshiba driver. I have lost the original software provided with the PC.

Someone at - he of the good suggestions. I can't use my wireless internet, neither the DVD game, I tried to download as much as I can to help, but nothing fix the fault.

Error code 28 showing all have.

    Hello

I checked the Toshiba download page, and it has listed all the necessary drivers, tools and utilities for Satellite M30X.

I just hope that you have installed in the correct order. As you can see there are two display (Intel and ATI) drivers. Make sure that you have chosen the right way. Drivers LAN and WLAN are also there. Just start with the setup.exe file and follow the instructions to facilities.

28 "COLLECTION" - the drivers for this device are not installed.

  • Satellite M30X starting problems

    Hello!

My Satellite M30X doesn't start normally more. When I press the power button, it turns on, the fan starts, but nothing happens. Or sometimes it takes almost 5 minutes before then the Toshiba logo appears, it begins in place.

After that, I sometimes get a message that the Smart HD feature has detected a failure in my HD. But not all the time.

I have Linux and Win XP on my hard drive. When I use Win XP, it starts normally, then after a few minutes, I get the BOD with message IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Or sometimes, the system just hangs. If I boot mode safe, everyting works fine.

On Linux, the system freezes after 30 minutes of use.

I'm tempted to think that I just need to reformat my HD (I have a 100gig HD of Fujitsu), and everything will be fine. I have to try again. And also once again, on Win XP Safe Mode, everything works very well - I can't even use WLAN, and I am writing this same post! But if it's just a software or an OS problem, why not not my laptop start normally? I mean, why is that sometimes it does not start at all (the Toshiba logo does not appear), and I have to turn off my phone and turn it back on so that it works. Sometimes it is not boot at all, no matter how many times I try it turn on and off. The power on light comes on, fan will start, then fan turns off, light is always turned on and nothing happens. Or it could be caused by a faulty hard drive? Is that why it sometimes does not start at all? But if it is the HD, why is there not a problem in Mode safe?

It is so weird coz it wasn't a problem before, and he appeared out of the blue.

Any help will be appreciated! Thank you in advance!

    Hello

To me, this looks like a hardware problem. I think it works in safe mode because other such graphics card device drivers are not loaded.
As I know the IRQL error also occurs if the blue screen of death appears on the screen. I think that it us something wrong with the graphics card or the memory modules.
I think you should ask the AEP from Toshiba for help.
