When I started Firefox upward and checked if the two parameters were right where they had been in all: config and with the original values. I went up to try twice, with the same result both times.

  Then, with Firefox running, I deleted the values of these two prefs in topic: config, then stop and restart Firefox. Values have remained deleted, but the prefs are always listed in everything: config. So I tried right click on preferences and selecting "Reset" on two of them.   I'm under openSUSE 13.1 in iwith dual-boot Windows 7, and it is only on the interface SUSE I'm having the problem (on Win7, earlier versions allow me to check a box "do not install anything, never" via preferences, rather than having to look for a solution to everything: config). Right now I use Firefox 28.0, having force lowered the footnote to the latest version.
