unexpected shutdown often maybe against overheating?

It may seem that my laptop is overheating and stops. I tried a few power saving options and scan mode command, but no help.

Make sure that the fan air vents are not blocked.  Put something under the laptop to carry off the table and increase the air flow.

If the problem continues to be, get the repaired computer before the CPU or the motherboard burn! Steve Winograd, Microsoft MVP (Windows desktop experience)

  • Re: Satellite A300 - 1 5 - unexpected shutdown

I am facing a problem when using my laptop Toshiba Satellite A300 - 1 5. My computer suddenly stops almost every day...

Before that happens, my computer is not responding and I received several messages like: ATI Display driver stopped responding, but was retrieved successfully.

Maybe I caused the problem, because I do not used to use the operating system pre-installed - which was Windows Vista Home edition. Instead, I installed Windows Vista Business x 64.

My graphics card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers from the ATI site.

When this strange thing happen, I am usually loaded by windows to check for a BIOS update - but any version that I download from the Web from Toshiba site is older than mine - which is 1.6.0.

Any kind of help would be very appreciated and we thank you in advance!

Everything but this is great, I really enjoy working on my Toshiba.

    Hello

I think the reason is the reason why you use the manufacturing display driver. On the ATI site, I can only find drivers desktop for the HD3400 and not for the series of mobility.
On the Toshiba site, I can t find the drivers for Windows Vista 64-bit. :(

The display driver are often causes problems if they are not Toshiba because they don t have a protection against overheating. So it s your risk and peril if you use the Toshiba drivers no.

I think that the only solution is to use the factory settings. This means that you must use the recovery disc and reinstall.

    Welcome them

  • Unexpected shutdown of Windows (blue screen)

New installation of all-in-one Photosmart 6510 seemed to go fine (try USB first, since will have the ability to scan).  A page prints fine, but something about the synthesis immediately after (some final development communication, or maybe even the 'Rewards' popup?) causes the unexpected shutdown of Windows with the blue screen.  No further assistance was suggested by Windows.  No errors were detected by the doctor printer hp application that I downloaded.

    Hello

First - just for your information, you can also scan using the wireless connection.

If you have a new PC, maybe you have a USB 3.0 on this subject?

If so, be sure to plug the printer into the USB 2.0 port as the HP device does not support the connection USB3.

    Hello

now I feel the hell with my R61. Any system I exported the detail of information - http://home.zcu.cz/~snajberk/System.html

My computer started the unexpected shutdown. I just work and it turns off. Then when I turn it on it usually tries to start and dies completely - no chance of turning it back on. I have to unplug it, get the battery and after that I can again activate it. After that Rescue and Recovery usually starts and is trying to fix. Then he sometimes starts, sometimes dies again and sometimes again Rescue and Recovery.

Today, he's dead 5times. Before today, never. Yesterday, I worked normally, installed nothing, nothing deleted. I don't know why this is happening now so suddenly and so often and why?

    Can anyone help please?

    Thank you all.

Today, I have my lenovo recover.
It was really an overheat problem. They had to change the motherboard and the fan.

So if anyone has the same problem, try to install speedfan and check your CPU temp and other times.

When I leave my computer idle for some time and come back I can't display or more often, I get the message that Windows has recovered from unexpected shutdown down. These accidents were related to the corruption of memory (probably caused by a driver).

Run these two tests to check your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.  Launch auditor.  You need not run memtest again unless you want to.

If you are overclocking anything reset by default before running these tests.

A couple of things that may be a coincidence or cause?

    (1) I have to connect the internet access where I was this weekend. He keeps having limited access to the network, while other computers can connect.

    (2) the symantec anti virus trial the day ended, it started.

    (3) I use a lot of web storage services (google drive, skydrive) and maybe they're trying to connect when I shut down the computer?

    (4) when it is closed and I unplug the charger, the charge indicator light on the outside remains lit out for some reason any. Don't know if that is related but it shouldn't behave like that my understanding of the computer.

If anyone can help me, I would be very grateful!

  • Satellite C660-155 cuts often cause of overheating

My laptop Satellite C660-155 cuts often cause of overheating. What is the problem with my laptop?

    How can it be solved?

    Hello

I think that air can circulate properly and this leads to a higher temperature.

Don't forget the vents at the bottom and on the side of the laptop are not stuck and blocked!
Always use the laptop on the table and make sure that there is enough free space around the laptop.

Also use jet of compressed air to remove dust and debris cooling fans! You can also use your vacuum cleaner, but in this case, I would be very careful because strong aspiration can destroy the fans!

  • Sudden unexpected shutdown

My Satellite maintains close without reason.
I suspect it is a protection against overheating, but it happens during any activity despite intensive use, a cooling tray.

I wonder if this means that a thermostat has failed OR there is dust debris accumulate around the heat sink.

Anyone else have this problem or advice on the resolution?

    See you soon

If you "suspect" is overheating check the cooling fan if it works properly. If it does not check if there's dust around the fan wings.
Second reason - check your cable and power supply if it is broken or damaged.

Have had problems since 31/12/09.  Tech replaced Dell hard drive 14/01/10 because all software solutions did not resolve various problems, including the screen black and white letters indicating the mode without failure, or count down the regular opening.  System Restore has used several times, all software removed and replaced.  New Quickbooks reinstalled two times 10, it usually starts up quickly.  I was told not to turn it off, just let it run.  It automatically goes into sleep mode, it still does not start correctly.  Last message is that Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown;  Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.  Problem event name: bluescreen
