We have recently improved to RH8 RH7. I'm under 8.0.2.208. Files generate very well, and in the output on my desk, I can see everything as I should (table of contents, Index, glossary, and all topics and links). However, when the output is put on the library it is written because, when you click the help button, you do not see the headings. You can see everything fine (table of contents, Index, etc), but the pane that contains the items is empty. Our software for libraries developer thinks he can be Unicode because our web server is not compatible to multibyte unicode characters. He asked if we can disable Unicode. Could this be the problem, and if so, can it be turned off? We used RH7 for a long time and never had this problem.
The error that is to give our server Web is:

I am using your drop-down list of the script files page 197 of PHP Solutions. I have adapted successfully to read a list of PDFs of my subdirectories. The list of files is not on a base of data, but read in directly from a subdirectory.
However, for the life of me, I can't understand how actually do one load the PDF file. I tried every syntax/combination in the action property that I can think of with no luck.
What I would do is either: 1) select the PDF in the drop down menu and then have it load in the browser or the 2) select the PDF fromt the drop down then press a button 'Download' and the file to load in the browser.
Can you please help me understand this?

Seems to be a matter of preference corrupt for the specific user account.
Have you tried to reset the preferences?

Help, please!
OSX 10.5.8, CS5 - updated.
We have a number of documents in CS4 that don't open in CS5... that gets us very concerned. So far, we have tried to reset the InDesign CS5 preferences without success. Save the CS4 document under a new name... without a bit of luck.
Will try to export to the XML file in the morning... If this works... what is the problem with our CS4 framework?
Details of what's going on...

Best practices: open in CS4, exporting to idml, that open in CS5.
(Option 2 (not recommended, should not be necessary), export to inx CS4.)
I would be surprised if this doesn't fix it for you, you should not receive the issues that you, but it is a very good way around most of the problems like this. Could be a plugin or something that you use?

I downloaded the demo of Dreamweaver CS4 (ADBEDRWVCS4_LS1.dmg) - English Version for MAC on my desk. The instalation was ok, but as soon as I have lunch application, the DW start screen appears and then stops with the following message:
The Dreamweaver application quit unexpectedly.
Mac OS X and other applications are not affected.
The problem seems to be documented here:

but I followed this guide and I keep the same error...
Then I downloaded the other cs4 products and they work fine... (I even install the trial version of dreamweaver cs3 and works ok...) the problem is built with dreamweaver cs4 4117...
I have a Macbook 2.2 Intel Core 2 Duo, 1 GB SDRAM and Mac OS X 10.5.5
I really wanted to try this version cause Im really interested on the new live feature... hope is something with a quick fix...

Here's the thing... Even if I fix the permissions... aparently there is a problem with systems that where Tiger and updated for leopard... The question never manifested for me in any other way until they know...
I check my folder of the application and I found an unknown group in the area of authorisation...
to get rid of him, I did:-Log in as an administrator.
-Open the Terminal (in/Applications/Utilities).
-Type the following commands, each on a single line and followed by return (enter an administrator password when prompted):sudo dscl. Create/Groups/username GroupMembership username
sudo dscl. change/Groups/username RecordName username _username
Replace "username" in italics with your account (which is also the name of the user Home folder in the users folder). Be sure to include the underscore character "_" before your username in the second command.

CS4 question - you do not have the necessary access privilege
I am running a MacPro on OS X 10.6.8. After a recent problem with the system, I had to uninstall and reinstall all software, repair permissions etc. All other programs are now very well. But CS4. I uninstalled CS4 and reinstalled twice (once via the original DVD, once via a link sent to me my someone in Adbobe). I enter my serial number, as requested, and everything seems to run nicely until I get an error message saying:
An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because you do not have the necessary access privilege. Photoshop will now exit "."
Can anyone help?

Hi, when I try to open the Flash on my PC I get the following message "the Adobe Flash CS4 application has quit unexpectedly. I uninstalled all of Creative Suite 4 and reinstalled using disks of my Creative Suite pack and the serial code. During installation, an error occurred while the Flash is being installed and I get the same message when I try to open. I use Windows 7 on a desktop PC.
uninstall, clean by use the CC cleaning tool to resolve installation problems. CC, CS3 - CS6 and then reinstall.
If you find an error during installation, take a screenshot and fix it, if it is in English.

Could not import the Clipboard because an unexpected end of file was encountered.
This one is particularly annoying. I use Creative Suite 2, Photoshop
with Windows XP Pro. I have the latest updates.
When I open Photoshop, I constantly have the message "couldn't".

Operating instructions that can help you:
(1) open Photoshop.
(2) hold down 'Alt', 'Control' and 'Shift' at the same time as the launch of the program.
(3) select the option to remove all of the current settings. All preferences and settings that you have changed will be returned to their default initial value.
(4) close all applications and access your Photoshop plug-in folder. The location of this will depend on the version of Windows you are using. If you use a 32-bit edition, you'll find to "C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS5 or CS4/Plug-Ins. If you use a 64-bit edition, you'll find in "C:/Program Files (x 86) / Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS5 CS4/Plug-Ins or" or "C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS5 or CS4/Plug-Ins.
(5) select plug-ins not published by Adobe and follow the instructions to remove.
(6) visit the Photoshop update page to find and apply updates for the version you are using.
(7) relaunch Photoshop and try it.

Unexpected file in Flash Pro 8
Hello, I downloaded the demo version of Flash Professional 8 for an assignment, and when I try to open the file that the Professor gave us I get an error that says "Unexpected file Format" I tried almost everything to fix the file but nothing works. I don't know what version of Flash, the file was originally recorded in. Can anyone help?
If this file has been saved to a newer version, there is nothing you can otherwise ask your teacher or someone else to save down to you or download a more recent version of pro flash to open your fla.
PS flash pro 8 is very old. We are now the flash pro 14.

is there a chronometer in CS4?
I'm talking the stopwatch between the graph editor & brain storm that makes it easy to animate and change.
When I log in cs4 is not here, but he was there when I used cs6.

It should certainly be here in After Effects CS4. In fact, this (the Auto-keyframe button) function has been added in After Effects CS4.
That said, we consider that this feature was a mistake and are gradually. We strongly recommend that you simply use the functionality of standard keyframing defined rather than using the auto-keyframing feature, which can very often do things surprising and unexpected.

Installation failed - error code 2 (CS4)
I have PS CS4 installed and running on a new computer laptop HP Probook running Windows 7 Pro. The computer threw some error messages (I don't remember the details) and required a reboot. Which launched a system restore. Restoring get me during the execution, but PS was missing. I tried to reinstall and it failed. I did the following:
1. multiple tries to install from the CD.
2 system restore to the only date left after the crash (9-1), which was after the date I installed PS
3 attempted to remove PS with Windows - does not entirely remove, shirts left.
4A attempted to remove PS with Revo Installer (by HP tech support) - deleted the entries in registry, but files stored on disk.
5. new installation attempt. Program goes through process but finished with errors - indicated "Code 2 error" and nothing else.
6 PS and bridge now on the menu, but I get an error stating "among application components are missing from the Application directory, please reinstall the application.
That won't work. HP has sent me to Adobe for help. Thoughts?
Chicagodom using the system restore feature can often lead to some results/unexpected behavior.

InDesign unexpectedly quits on launch
Hello!
I am running CS4 Design Standard (update 6.0.6) on my MacBook Pro. Photoshop and Illustrator, have both open very well, but when I try to launch InDesign, it closes unexpectedly when you start. The error report is pasted here:
Any help to solve my problem is appreciated.
I installed the software on my iMac two years ago, and I just bought this macbook pro. I used the migration assistant to transfer via my iMac to the Pro applications. This is perhaps why it does not work on the Pro.

Thank you, Peter! The first solution listed above solved my problem. In my case, there was no folder called 'Datastore' in the folder 'Mark II', but I just removed the .bundle files that are contained in the file of Mark II and now InDesign launches.

Yet CS4 suddenly does not open
I use daily Encore CS4. I just used to make & burn a DVD and it worked perfectly. I closed again and tried to reopen, but it crashed. After a few seconds, I got the Crash report window saying that even close unexpectedly. I restarted the computer and I tried 3 times and all I get is the Crash report. I reinstalled again, but it's the same thing. All my other CS4 programs work very well. I tried to reinstall again, but now the CS4 Setup hangs during the boot process and stops.
AMD Phenom 9600 Quad Core 3.20 GHz, 3.25 GB of RAM, Windows XP Pro, Service Pack 3.
I found the solution on Creative Cow. I renamed my application folder and launched yet and it opened! The application folder is called "4.0" and is here:
C : | Documents and Settings / "my name" / Application Data/Adobe/Adobe Encore / 4.0. I can't believe that I reinstalled the suite CS4 full for anything. I thank Gates is a not reformat my entire hard drive.
