uninstallation of multiple operating systems

I installed windows xp on c:\ and d:\, but now I want to remove the copy d:\ d. How to do?

Start on the C: Windows, the format of the player or the D: partition.

Then click on: start/run/msconfig (this open the System Configuration utility.
Select the BOOT. INI tab
Click on the button "check all boot paths".
If Msconfig detects an invalid path, you will get a pop-up window with a message that says in effect:
'the following line in the TRUNK. INI file does not refer to a valid operating system"
You will be asked to remove the invalid path.

Now as for the timer, you will see a box of Timeout in the middle right of
System Configuration Utility window.
You can change this to a number higher or lower seconds.

  • Share firefox profile between multiple operating systems.

I recently installed windows on a virtual hard disk 8 (my primary OS is Windows 7) and I was wondering if it was possible to share the same profile of firefox on the two operating systems. I have ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/utilities/profilemanager/Profile Manager, but when I tried to make a new profile to the place of my main profile, he instead made a subdirectory under my main profile. Is that what I can do to share the profile between the two? I could always use sync, but I would like to share my addons, if possible.

    Hello

in general there is no problem to install Windows 98 SE on a second partition on your hard drive. But you will have problems to find the drivers for this operating system, because it is not supported by Toshiba for this model. You must also bring.

You are guaranteed will not be affected if you install Windows 7 - just be sure to create your recovery media for installing Windows 8 HP may require that the original OS is installed if you need to send in for repair under warranty.

  • Multiple operating systems. How to get the double boot or sort and what's on the disk images?

Hello. I currently have Windows XP Home Edition on my desktop. I have an update for Windows Vista Home Premium. Both are 32-bit. I read this linkhttp://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Installing-and-reinstalling-Windows-Vista. I have a few questions, I would like to precise please.

Can I add the upgrade to Vista on a separate hard drive? Is there a partition?

Do I need to install any other program infront of XP or Vista so I can dualboot? I have to if I wanted to add Win7 Home Premium 64 - bit as a bunch of sorting?

I'm not pure install, I understand that. I'm done with my XP havn't programs, it takes more time than expected.

Is it possible to create disk images or backups with more than one operating system installed? If I have an upgrade, I don't think that I can remove the previous installed OS (XP Home Edition) and have a Vista disk image work. At least I have clean install and only Vista is? I have Norton Ghost 15 and I wondered if I would be able to drive or backup XP image or upgrading to Vista at all, or together.

Can an upgrade copy, I change the material at all, or add anything internally?

    XP SP3 on the desktop.

    Hello

Yes, you need XP on your drive hard first to use the dual boot with Vista, after the restoration of ghosting for 2 hard drives.

If you only want Vista on the PC, then you will need to use your Vista installation disk to repair and install files on the hard disk Vista.

As for the reactivation, you should be able to activate again within 3 days on the internet, you may need to phone MS if you can't.

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4
    (2) press the ENTER"" key.
    (3) select your "country" in the list.
    (4) choose the option "activate phone".
    (5) stay on the phone and waiting for someone to help you with activation.

Your XP disk is more then likely an OEM version, which means that it is linked to the computer it was installed on.

So your Vista upgrade could also be tied to the PC you are upgrading to.

  • How to install multiple operating systems

    Hi, im from the India,
    I have hp Pavilion-15-N209TX, with Windows built-in 8.1,
I want to install anothere os (Windows 7),
Windows 8.1 Windows 7 plus several operating systems.

    How to do this?

Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

The screenshots below is from a laptop HP 15 t-j100... options and the configuration on your computer screens may differ.

You will need to DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the "Configuration of the BIOS start-up secure" on the settings page similar to what is shown below, until you try to install Windows 7.

After you save the changes, the computer will ask you to confirm the changes... Accept the changes by typing the four digit code and press the ENTER"" key.

If you install from a USB key and see a message of "load a driver - a required CD/DVD drive device is missing", it's because as 'System Configuration' > 'Config USB3.0 in pre-start' is set to 'Enabled '. This should be set to 'Auto '.

In addition, as the hard drive is partitioned as TPG, you must start using the internal CD/DVD UEFI or UEFI-Key/key USB to install Windows on a GPT-partitioned disk. Turn on or restart the computer and press "F9" or "ESC", then "F9" when prompted. Select the source of boot UEFI you use and you press "ENTER".

I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best installation experience. If you need Windows SP1, see 'How to install Windows 7 without the disc' to download and create your own disc of Windows 7 SP1. If the DVD does not start as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (can ask "Quick start" DISABLING in BIOS) as the installation media. Please download the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a Windows 7 SP1 USB Flash drive. Please note that some computers may not recognize a valid active UEFI USB Flash drive if it is formatted in NTFS and may require only a FAT32 formatted USB Flash drive. You should be able to make a FAT32 formatted Windows 7 installation USB Flash drive using Rufus, UNetbootin, Universal USB Installeror WiNToBootic. I like Rufus, because it contains options for 'Plan of GPT partition for UEFI computer' and 'FAT32'.

    From the top...

    (1) in Windows 8 / 8.1, reduce the "C:" partition and create a new partition of the unused space. Please see partitioning and naming of readers (Windows 8) for more information on partition in Windows 8 / 8.1.

    (2) download f6flpy-x 64.zip, extract the files/folders and place it on a USB Flash drive.

    (3) turn on the computer and immediately start typing the key "ESC".

    (4) when the MENU is displayed, press "F10".

    5) navigate the BIOS to the "System Configuration", 'USB 3.0 pré-OS Config' and the value 'Auto '.

    6) navigate the BIOS to the "System Configuration", "Startup Options" and "Secure Boot" the value 'Legacy Support' the value "Enabled" and "Disabled"

    7) press "F10" and click "YES" to "Exit Saving Changes".

    (8) computer should restart and display "Change of operating system startup Mode"... type the four digit code, then press "ENTER".

    (9) let Windows 8 boot to the top and put the Windows 7 SP1media in the drive to DVD or a USB port, then logout / stop.

    (10) turn on the computer and immediately start typing the key "ESC".

    (11) when the MENU is displayed, press the key "F9" and then select the correct boot UEFI source (CD/DVD drive internal, USB drive, CD/DVD, USB Flash drive, etc.). ... Press any key to start the CD/DVD, if prompted.

    (12) select 'Language', ' time / currency ' and 'Keyboard' settings and then click "Next".

    13) click on 'install now '... Check "Accept terms" and click "next". Click on "Custom (Advanced)".

    (14) you may need to provide Intel SATA/RAID drivers at the moment...  Use the Intel SATA/RAID drivers that you previously placed on a USB Flash drive.

    (15) to follow all instructions and meet the need. Enter the Windows 7 key when asked.

Most of the 64 - bit drivers Windows 7 for HP ENVY 15 t-j100 CTO Notebook PC drivers of Quad Edition page should work on your computer. DO NOT use any BIOS or download of the firmware from this page. Please message the Windows Device Manager (text only) "Hardware ID" of all remaining missing or unknown devices, as shown in the example below.

  • Code unique appl and icon for multiple operating systems?

    All,

I'm new to the BB appl development.  I was finding this forum very useful, although I have some fundamental questions for which I can't find existing threads...

We need to create basically just a web app launcher (possibly with the overview icon) to get out by using BES.  We have a range of features and versions of OS (from 4.1) in support.  My questions have to do with how support these different devices and OS versions.  I hope I can have one application to get out for all devices instead of having separate applications to push to the respective devices based on the device or operating system.

So my current thinking is to compile the application targeting the OS 4.1, so will it work on that and all the new versions of the OS.  As far as I can tell (not having completely tested) the same code (to launch the browser and the overview icon support) for OS 4.1 is compatible up to all new OS versions. This approach, compilation on OS 4.1 only, seems reasonable?

My second concern relates to the icons that different devices prefer icons of different sizes.  What's usually managed?  Generally include you all files of icons of different sizes in the construction and through the code click on the appropriate icon based on detected device?  Or do you usually come out with a file of unique icon with dimensions that have air pretty much ok in all devices?  Some compromise between the two?

    Thank you.

Code of Blackberry is compatible before not retro-compatible. So, if you are developing an application with older JDE it can run on the new OS, but not the reverse.

    Also see this article:

What is - an appropriate version of the BlackBerry JDE
    http://www.BlackBerry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/348583/800738/800901/What_Is...

And on the icon I don't think that any device have a preference of dimension.

You can use any reasonable size (ex: 50 * 50) for icon which will look almost the same in all devices.

  • Windows 8 can work with multiple operating systems

Can I use windows 8 with several OS like windows7 & windows xp etc.

    Hello Aslam Dasadia,

If you are referring to double or triple boot, i.e., starting from Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8 on the same PC and the drive, then the answer is Yes.

Please keep in mind that Windows XP must be installed first. This is because Windows XP uses a different bootloader of Windows 7 and Windows 8. A good way to install is in order, for example, Windows XP first, followed by Windows 7 and Windows 8.

An alternative is to use the Hyper V virtual machine software (provided with Windows 8 Pro and Enterprise of Windows 8) to create virtual machines of all operating systems. Personally, I use VMware Workstation (not free I'm afraid). VMware Workstation I running Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 with Windows 8 as the host and the other as guest operating systems.

That should be no problem. However, VMware Server is out of order and does work not under OS X. So if I were you I wouldn't invest a lot of time in this product now.

    > But since I bought VMWARE FUSION three months ago, I don't want to buy new SERVER if the MERGER may have more than one Linux.

Server is / was a free product. No need to buy.

I have 4G RAM in my MacBook. My plan is to 1 G RAM for each Linux.

    Oracle Enterprise Linux is Linux.

As the other person said, there is an amount of overhead by VM. As you can run linux clients, make sure that the 3D acceleration is not activated as it a) does not work under linux, there is no graphics acceleration driver that works right now and b) 3D acceleration uses by default an another 128 MB / VM.

  • Multiple operating systems supports the issue.

Hi, I have a few questions about the support of several BONES. And Yes, I already searched the forums, but the answers do not answer my question.

    (1) can the 10.3.1 API supports 10.3.0 OS? This is because most of the time when people talk about the OS, they just 10.3 or 10.2. 10.3.0 OS compartible with 10.3.1 API is

    (2) if I release an app for OS 10.3 and later released an update for 10.2 (letsay the 10.3 is version 1.0.0.1 but the 10.2 version 1.0.1.1) what version of the app will a device running 10.3 download?

    (3) is it possible to build an application with the 10.3.1 api for the 10.2 using code only 10.2 (including assets). I mean that you only use the code supported by 10.2 including 10.2 assets.

I want to reinstall windows 7. I want to install linux with her BOSS because my book is based on BOSS linux. I can do this.

One of my classmate also want to install linux to BOSS, but he don't mind windows 7 (don't want to reinstall). It has to do this.
If these are possible please give advice. I searched the internet but be more complicated. Please help me. If there are articles in the simple English web site please give his address. My pc is assembled with processor AMD Athlon (TM) II X 2 550 processor 3100 Mhz, 2 Lossnay, 2 logical processors,
2 GB of RAM and 500 GB hard drive. If necessary, I can add RAM.
This is basic requirements of the BOSS:
    • 512 MB OF RAM
    • 5.0 GB (space not partitioned) HARD DRIVE
This is the basic requirments for Windows 7:
    • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or more fast processor 32-bit (x 86) or 64-bit(x64).
    • 1 gigabyte (GB) of RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
    • 16 GB of disk space available (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
    • Graphical device DirectX 9 with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
If coordinates of pc are required, I will give you. Please give a little help. Your help would be very appreciated.

If you install Windows multiboot 1 and during the phase of disk configuration, create a partition for Windows, which leaves space for Linux (there not a lot). Then install Linux in the empty space.

This is because the Grub boot sector will include a Windows partition, while the 2nd if installed Windows boot loader will lose the start of Linux.

However, if your need for Linux is limited to a single application, I recommend a Virtual Machine, as suggested by Andre. I used Virtual Box to create entire networks without problem.

As you have only 2 GB, you are really limited to 32 b and I would really watch 64 b unless you can get more than 4 GB of memory in.

  • Two vista operating system installed, but only starts

    Hello

I hope someone could help me to overcome this problem:

My laptop with vista venus hm so high-end, as I bought it in Germany had German language. So I bought ultimate in English and do a new installation. I was very happy with it, but yesterday I tried to install the original hp vista to do the dual boot. As it was provided by Toshiba Recovery CD, it was put directly to install on the HARD disk. I knew that it will erase all data, if there is, to HDD1 and install the operating system and other programs (as it was put in the BIOS to boot from there), but previously I already installed the ultimate in disk HARD 2. I thought, the vista hp will be in 1 HDD and ultimate will be in 2 HDD so I can choose at the beginning that one to start.

However, after the installation of vista hp it show at the beginning of any other OS and just start with vista hp without giving no possibility to choose which start first. I checked this ultimate is also there, but I can't start. Can anyone, please, help me? I'd appreciate any suggestion, information and help. Thank you

You can use the 'Vista Boot Pro' tool, which is a very good tool to manage the startup options if you have multiple operating systems installed.
    Just go here-> http://www.vistabootpro.org/
    and download the tool.

With the help of this tool, you should be able to start the two OS´s on your machine.

  • Guest operating system upgrade

    Hello

I did some searching on google but have not found answers to whether or not it is possible to update multiple operating systems using a built-in feature of VMWare. I use Workstation 8 and invited several OS running various flavors of Linux. I just wanted to know if I have to login to each guest and update manually or if there was a built-in feature of VMware. I fell on the Update Manager in my research, but it seems that this is only available with ESX and that comments patch is no longer supported in any case.

Any information on this would be highly appreciated.

    Thank you

VMware Workstation does not what to patch/update guests.

You are right that VMware Update Manager used to include a comment update function that has been removed. In any case, it was only included with vCenter Server. The only VMware product that comes to mind is VMware vCenter Protect.
