  You must download Photoshop CS6 and enter the serial number for Photoshop CS6 and then you will be prompted to enter the serial number of product qualification.

  Enter the serial number CS5 to install and activate Photoshop CS5 on your machine.

  If you have Photoshop CS5 saved with Adobe, you are eligible to move to Photoshop CD6 for $199.

  It doesn't matter if CS5 was itself an upgrade from CS4 versions.

  Hi there - would appreciate a helping hand on what I'm sure is a very basic request - I purchased the CS5 CS6 upgrade online about 3 days ago and signed in and find my order, clicked on it and did what I thought was 'Download', whereas download and then download window disappeared and I thought he'd jump upward with 'Run' or similar , but nothing happens. This has happened 3 times. I have been using the net session Akamai - I checked in my downloads folder each time and there is nothing there.   I basically followed the steps suggested by this note useful forum (which reproduces what was in the email that the Adobe store sent me:)

  It would be best to uninstall CS5 and CS6 before installing creative Cloud applications as previous versions are restored from a backup who could cause problems.

  Just to let you know there is no need to uninstall CS5 or any other creative suite before installing the CS6 software.
