Uninstalling InDesign CS5.5

Hello

I bought a mac mini and used the migration assistant to transfer my files from my laptop. The new computer running Lion. InDesign doesn't launch. All other CS5.5 applications seem to work OK. I think that something happened in the transfer of files. So I thought that I uninstall InDesign or maybe all of the Creative Suite and reinstall from the disc. However, when I run the unistaller, Indesign is not on the list of applications to uninstall. How can I uninstall it? Thanks for any help you can give.

No need to uninstall everything re-don't install using the floppy disk, it will repair the Indesign and then it should work.

  • Prob uninstall and reinstall Indesign CS5.5

Please, it's been a nightmare for me

Adobe asked me to uninstall and reinstall Indesign (I have a collection of master) CS5.5. Because I had a problem.

So I uninstall Indesign and went trough Dowload Wizard Adobe to download Indesign CS55 but it does not recognize my driver's license and therefore it install only the trial (in a language not appropriate) so I uninstall again...

I have never get the first installation of a DVD, but of the Adobe Web site. And I don't want to take the risk to reinstall the full Mastercollection

So my question is: can I reintall Indesign from Adobe Download Assistant? Or y at - there another link for this? I don't want the trial

You should be able to run the installer in the main collection, then choose the programs to install, and it's the installer, who will recognize the serial number you have.

Next time you have a problem and that someone said to uninstall and reinstall, come here first of all a second opinion. We can aften figure what's wrong and fix it without going to this extreme.

  • When starting Indesign CS5 I get error: 5

I'm trying to move my copy of Indesign CS5 on my laptop without disc.  I get a Configuration error.  Error: 5 I should be able to run it on 2 computers.  Any ideas as to why I get this error message?

    Hi Briank90902266,

Migration of Adobe programs usually does not work because of hidden permissions files. Please uninstall the software copied by uninstalling Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 or Creative Suite 5, cleaning of the remains with the use of the Adobe Creative Cloud cleaning tool to solve installation problemsand then reinstall using the available download here: Download Adobe Creative Suite 5 products. Scroll down the page for InDesign.

If you have any questions or you continue to experience problems please feel free to post a reply to this discussion.

  • inDesign CS5 won't open, which gives error 5.

I have Adobe Creative Suite 5 premium (purchased on disk a few years ago) and then I bought inDesign CS5 (not creative cloud, just by download). It worked on my old computer, but I bought a new computer (iMac - OS X Yosemite 10.10.4) last year and I didn't use inDesign on this computer. I have also used an app (Adobe After Effects) using creative cloud but have no accession of the present, I was doing this on a monthly basis.

When I try to open inDesign, it says: "Configuration error, please uninstall and reinstall the product. If this problem persists... Error: 5 ". But when I try to uninstall it says: "your uninstaller encountered errors. Please try to restart... "I used the cleaner of the Creative Suite from Adobe tool, it seemed to work but don't give me a success message. I also tried to use the cleanup of the CS5 Mac utility. I uninstalled my Adobe Creative Suite 5 to see if that would help. There can be no. I restarted my computer. The problem persists.

I uninstalled creative cloud a few weeks ago because I was not using this. Maybe this has caused a few problems. I have no idea.

Any help I can get is very appreciated! Thank you.

You're getting ripped off. Adobe never contacted people via Skype.

I pass over the powers that be.

  • After installing Photoshop/Lightroom, inDesign cs5 won't launch. Adobe says they no longer support cs5. What?

    I said in the title.

Problem solved - I used iChat and Adobe sent a link to re - install of CS5. I uninstalled InDesign then ran the Setup program.

It's all good now and I have not to cancel the 2014 Photoshop / Lightroom upgrade.  Thanks for the reply. -Mark

  • InDesign CS5 does not start correctly

My Indesign CS5 does not start.

I don't see the program to start, but if I go to the "active processes management" I can see it running.

Thus, the program starts, but I don't see its interface.

    My OS is W7 professional.

This problem affects me for a week.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall without results.

PS. I have a Premium Suite CS5, and other programs works fine.

    Thanks for the support

    Ciao, Peter,.

Finally I got it! The problem was on the ID fields, where to load the application.

I have two monitor, managed by the nView Desktop Manager. So ID has been busy away from my office, I know not why.

But strangest of all, ID no was not shown in the application tab in the 'management of active processes.

So I disabled the Manager the nview and ID appear.

But it is a big bug ID, which Adobe has to manage.

Thank you very much for your help.

    Ciao, Luca

  • InDesign CS5 launch is no longer

For some reason any I started having problems with older versions of the software Adobe CS do not want to launch this week. First it was Illustrator CS 4, today it is InDesign CS 5. See screen capture below. I tried to run the uninstall program and it told me that I need to run the Adobe cleaning tool, and then restart. So I downloaded and installed the cleaning tool ran, and then I got a message saying that I need to install the Applications Adobe handler, because my current was not up-to-date. So I downloaded and installed the request handler. But after the execution of all these things that I keep getting the below error error: 5

  • Mavericks. InDesign CS5 crash

Since getting a new mac with the Mavericks I can longer open InDesign CS5 (but Photoshop works very well).

I tried all the tips I can find online - deletion SING, the removal of the plugins, update to the latest Java, reset preferences (manually and using the keyboard shortcut at the opening of the program).

The launch is never past "initializing plugins.

Here is the crash report: http://pastebin.com/fFEy4rAj

Help, please! If I need to uninstall and reinstall, please indicate how, I never did.

    Thank you very much.

Come on in the hidden (10.7 and above) users /library folder. Access keys to access: ~ library and find the folder Preferences/Adobe InDesign CS6 or CC. Select this file and do a Get Info. Change the permissions on this folder read/write for everyone and make sure that you choose to apply it to all subfolders and files.

  • InDesign CS5 hangs on launch version 10.8.3

    Hey everybody,

I had trouble with InDesign (CS5) two years ago on my macbook pro. I have reinstalled twice which slightly improves its operation, but still it would crash when I tried to add pages or view my images placed in a high quality display. I thought that my problem was the lack of RAM (4 GB), I had on my laptop because Photoshop and Illustrator would be would break also occasionally with large files.

But... I have just recently to plug an iMac with 16 GB of RAM, and any transfer to my laptop using the migration wizard. InDesign crashes now without opening it at all. Photoshop and Illustrator work very well.

I tried inDesign as a guest user and it's the same problem.

I have read forums and have tried to locate the preferences folders to move, but they are not here:

    Drive hard/users / < USER > / Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign / < Version # > / < language > /.

    Disk hard/users / < USER > / Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign / < Version # > / < language > /

I have also considered uninstalling and reinstalling on my iMac, but how do I do this without a hard drive?

Please let me know if there is more information I can give you that will help you will help me, I need inDesign for my major work for United and darn fear!

Will I need a crash report? How can I do this?

    Thank you!

As I suspected, is SING. See SING Removal

And you need to update to the latest patch...

  • InDesign CS5 to crash repeatedly.

I use Indesign CS5 for about a year now, migration of Quark. It has been remarkably stable, running on my iMac OSX10.6.8, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo w/4 GB of SDRAM. Then suddenly today, a particular file starated crashing repeatedly.  I ran disk on a different startup disk utility, repaired permissions; everything checked out OK. Always crashing. I created new documents and slide thumbnails of page by page, trying to ID of the offending page, but crashes every doc of this line. (It would take a lot of time to rebuild from scratch.) The original doc became irrecoverable. The original breaking file had a few rows of type on a circular path and I was wondering if that was the problem.  I deleted my .plist. Finally, I uninstalled and reinstalled the creative Suite5 together. Always crashing. Any ideas? I need to be running for my work. Thank you, Dianne,.

Looks like a corrupted document http://forums.adobe.com/thread/526991

From time to time code can accumulate on the saved - or elements on a page are corrupt.

If the link does not quite work for you then I suggest another method - divide and conquer.

When files become dark like that I'll take the file and split into half - and then see what document crashes or becomes unstable.

I then take this file and divided in half again once. Then I can finally he whittle until a range of reconstruction and pages - usually this small page range will fix the problem.

  • Debug InDesign CS5.5 version

    Hi all

I successfully installed indesign cs5.5 debug on my windows XP SP3.

On running the application I got Aseert message following one after the other.

-Could not load the plugin MANAGER of FONTS. RPLN

-On to use Nile ptr interface! Questioned IID has been FontMgrPrefix + 4 (0x3e04), the kWorkspaceBoss Boss

And then the end of the application Indesign gets crashed.

I now software installed next to me

    1 visual Studio 2008

    2 visual Studio 2005

3 visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 (SP1 regular, not the pack of specific service of Windows Vista/Win7)

I also deleted the preference files.

Please let me know the system requirements to run the debug version of cs5.5.

    Kind regards

    Sameer.

    Hi Sameer,

errors on the font manager and SING plug-ins are usually visible when VS2005 SP1 is not installed. This behavior is a known issue in the CS5/CS5.5 debugging.

I suggest that you uninstall InDesign and all your versions of Visual Studio, and then reinstall them in order:

    Visual Studio 2005

    Visual Studio 2005 SP1
    Visual Studio 2008

    InDesign debug

I hope that you will get operational.

  • Size of the LARGE file in InDesign CS5

Help! Date deadline fast approaching and InDesign now down for analysis. It's no doubt InDesign... it is open as I type this and I can see the letters appear here as I type. In InDesign, it's like back in the dark ages... type far in advance and wait for the screen to catch up, and it is not yet completely. I resorted to type in Notepad and paste in to try to speed things up a bit.

I am a relatively new InDesign user, so apologies if there's a simple answer...

My file was getting big in terms of number of pages, and because of the issue of anchored frames (another post), I have split it into several files and put it in a book. At least this way you hit on the effect of having something not anchored was manageable.

Today yesterday and now the program got progressively slower. With the help of 70% and more memory (4 GB of it!)

Something feels very bad for me...

The first file in the book is 4 pages long. It consists of a title page, a table of contents generated automatically, a whole page with a border frame and a whole page borderless frame. Apart from the title page, it's ALL text. On the title page and the master page, I (bound, I think - they appear in the links pane) two images. On the cover page is only 115KB anyway, and that on the master page, in the footer, is 82KO.

This file is 13 776 KB in size. What is going on? The BOOK in its entirety before was a little less than 12 Mo, and although I added a bit more content, nothing new is entered in these four pages. The total for the whole of the book now (NOT the IMAGES INCLUDING) is a little more than 35 MB.

I had installed a trial of CS 5.5 to see if that was going to be all right for a project of ePub, I'm about to start, but until recently that I had not noticed any problems with it. I just uninstalled and am about to do a repair of InDesign CS5 to see if that helps.

    For the technical interested:

    PC Windows 7 Professional 32-bit.

    Intel i5 CPU (3.84 GHz)

Two cards running three monitors (been like this since you have the PC in December).

I'm going to struggle to meet the limit at this rate and start to panic :-(

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions

First thing to do is open each file in the book, then save UNDER the name twice, once with a new name if you have a backup copy and a second time with the original name to replace the current file. Save as removes old change unnecessary data and reduce the size of the file. Also remove unused styles and nuances.

Do you have references or hyperlinks between files? If you do so, all files must be opened or ID will open and close them permanently in the background that will slow you down to a crawl. Other things that can speed up performance are stop live preflight, turning off page thumbnails and reduce the display performance setting.

  • Trial InDesign CS5.5 crash at startup

    Hello

I have a problem with the Trial Version of the suite CS5.5 Design Premium where shortly after the start, the program crashes and gives me the spinning wheel of death (mac) InDesign CS5.5.

In two of these scenarios, open an existing Document or to create a new Document, I can create/open the document but then immediately after that the document opens in the workspace, the application stops responding.

Here is the configuration that I work with:

    Apple iMac (iMac11, 3)

    Intel core i5 2.8 ghz

    4 GB DDR3 1333 mhz RAM

    ATI Radeon HD 5750

1 TB 7200 RPM HARD drive

    Magic mouse

    Wireless keyboard

    OS x Snow Leopard 10.6.7

The system is a new system and has all the latest updates software for OSX. The only fonts are the default values of the system and MS Office 2011 fonts.

I tried uninstall/re-installing several times and met with the same results.

Any help or support would be much appreciated.

    Thank you
