When starting Indesign CS5 I get error: 5

I'm trying to move my copy of Indesign CS5 on my laptop without disc.  I get a Configuration error.  Error: 5 I should be able to run it on 2 computers.  Any ideas as to why I get this error message?

Hi Briank90902266,

Migration of Adobe programs usually does not work because of hidden permissions files. Please uninstall the software copied by uninstalling Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 or Creative Suite 5, cleaning of the remains with the use of the Adobe Creative Cloud cleaning tool to solve installation problemsand then reinstall using the available download here: Download Adobe Creative Suite 5 products. Scroll down the page for InDesign.

If you have any questions or you continue to experience problems please feel free to post a reply to this discussion.

Best,

    Thank you.

That only works if the developer has used the extensions Manager to install their extensions. I'm willing to bet that most are not...

(Using Extension Manager is a real pain...)

Disable Plugins is usually as simple as dragging the plugin in the plugins folder. If it support extensions and/or startup scripts, it's more complicated...

  • Ghosting when resizing (InDesign CS5)

    Hello world

I have recently said working with InDesign CS5, I think it's great, except for one thing look. Now when you resize an object containing text or image, this text or image continues to display what they call 'image ghost-back' (the same tonic practice to the bottom of the picture you see when you move the content of the framework, for example).

It would be a very nice feature, IF it was not incredibly slow. When I try to resize or crop a picture, it feels like I'm working with a 10 year old computer.  In fact at present, I am working on Mac OS 10.6.5, Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 2.8 GHz which I imagine to be sufficient to use such a simple function of InDesign.

It's very frustrating because I work with InDesing day after day so I hope someone can tell me if there is a way to disable this somewhere I checked preferences but did not find anything on this topic.

Thank you very much in advance for your answers!

    Lil Red frog

You can only disable in preferences-> Interface-> Live screen Drwaing the deferred value.

    Hope that helps.

I downloaded a zip file of the interenet and when I try to open an error message keeps coming up that it is not th file in zip format or the file is corrupted, I use zip easy to try to open the file.

    Hello

Its probably a bad zip as it says, corrupt. Or it could be a file format that is not ZIP, was
renamed with the ZIP extension. Try to use 7 - Zip to open the file. Try it on another computer.

    Hello

Since last night I get the above error message on my computer at startup.

I can not start in any other mode and tried to use the recovery console (starting on the DVD) using FIXBOOT and CHKDSK /R but still no luck.

I also tried searching on the error code with no luck.  I recently bought an IPOD but was already using itunes and the computer worked very well after the IPOD synchronization.

I'm stuck and would be grateful if someone could help me solve this problem.

It is proably a record broken. Restart your computer and press F8 when Windows starts to load. Select the last known configuration of God in the menu, then press OK. I had the same problem, and that it resolves. Maybe a program to train register is broken.

  • When starting my PC, I get one starts to install message then a request to put disc "viewer of documents" in the drive.

In an effort to free up disk space, a file deleted that shouldn't have been deleted.  How to get a Windows XP installation disc?

    Hi Bill Rossback,.

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

Unfortunately, Windows XP installation CD is no longer available for sale, you can contact any store local tech or with eBay or Amazon, you can check if they have copies left

  • No signal when start and can't get into safe mode.

So, I have an E machine with microsoft xp on it. And last night I lost the signal of the monitor. But I just restarted it and she came back. But he started for about every five minutes after re boot. I put it in save mode, and he continued to do so. And then when I started again, there was a "serious error of microsoft" and I sent the error to microsoft, as well as something active desktop. Showing all the reasons of what can happen. My computer is really slow so I decided to just drive with flash reprogramming CD, I put in and restart it and I don't get any signal constantly even now when I reboot... Please help, thanks.

    Hi andreasburlet,

    ·         You see a message on the screen?

    ·         Have you checked for fine connections?

    ·         Do you want to say that you tried to reinstall Windows XP?

Method 1: Ensure that all connections on the monitor are tight.

Method 2: Connect and disconnect a RGB cable can help them as well and that could ensure a good signal. Look at the end of the cable to see if you have all the appropriate pins.

Method 3: You can also try with another monitor, if possible. It could also be your video card. See if it is connected. If you are not comfortable doing so, communicate with a known person.

Hi I found this post a while back on another site, I did what it said to do exactly and it worked for me, don't waste your time call Dell they want only to load on a 100.00 to fix and there is no guarantee. Just try to do what that told the post that I inserted below or if you can't find a friend who is more computer savy and have do them. I hope this helps.

Solved: "STService.exe Unable to locate component."

    Hey

First of all, my apologies if there is a section of this forum that this thread would be better suited to the. Mods, feel free to move the thread elsewhere if that is the case.

Anyway, I just thought I'd post a little fix for a problem that I had with my Dell laptop. After a registry cleanup, I started to receive the error message every time after that I logged: "unable to locate component STService.exe. This application has failed to start because STlog.dll is not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. »

I googled the problem but could not find a suitable solution - all other users have this problem had simply uninstall Dell DataSafe Local Backup (where the problem is) or just simply to stop it running at startup to the top to get rid of the error messages.

However, if, like me, this isn't something in particular, you want to, here's a quick solution:

Find "Dell DataSafe Local Backup" within your program files (for me, it was in: "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Dell DataSafe Local Backup")

Find the STLog.dll file in this directory

Copy the file - and I hasten to repeat, copy it (do not move or cut the file, because it would be a lot more questions)

Find the folder Scheduler (for me, it was in: "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Dell Backup\Components\scheduler DataSafe Local ')

Paste the file into this directory

At this point, I want to emphasize that STLog.dll is not - or at least was not for me - the only one missing. I also had to copy all the following dll files in the same way:

    CSTError.dll
    STString.dll
    STXml.dll
    STStringArray.dll
    LibXml2.dll
    ZLIB1.dll
    STFiles.dll
    STRegistry.dll
    STPE.dll
    STNLS.dll
    STSystems.dll
