Uninstalling Microsoft transceiver eHome infrared

(1) what is?

(2) what are the effects of deleting (I need to remove it because it interferes with some games *)?

(3) how to remove (I need to restart my computer to make changes, but restart my computer seems to just reinstall it again)?

* I feel like it could be useful that I said I heard that it prevents the use of the console commands.

Hello, I'm desperately trying to disable Manager devices Microsoft eHome infrared transceiver. I ran the DM as long as administrator, I opened the HIDDEN list and, as I think, there are two drivers running that allow this "infrared transmitter", "Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver" and "ENE CIR Receiver" on my laptop (HP DV6). When I right click on these devices, there is no option disable as almost all other devices, and when I open the Properties window for each of them is the button turn off, well, disabled and grayed out. Apart from uninstalling those drivers who really, I don't want to do because I use the remotes often enough, but the drivers prevent you games (like Elder Scrolls Oblivion), I am at a loss on how to disable them.
Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

  • Problem with eHome Infrared Receiver Driver

I have an IR receiver USB that I got from Dell which came with my old computer (XPS 210, I had to have my computer replaced if... the motherboard was fried on this subject). When I plug in the usual Windows searches for a driver and install. The driver for this is "eHome Infrared Receiver (USBCIR)" as it is listed in the device under USB devices Manager. After installation there is a green light on the receiver and everything works great, works by remote control (supplied with the receiver) very well as well.

However, whenever I restart my computer, Windows detects the device again only as an unknown device. The receiver doesn't have a light on this subject, so it does not work. So that this work once again, I have to unplug and plug it in again.

I tried to uninstall the device in Device Manager and install the driver again, but this does not solve the problem. I also tried different locations USB... does not help. I do not use hubs USB, just the slots on the tower. All my other USB devices work fine.

I already searched the internet to find that apparently no one knows this problem. The receiver worked fine with my old computer, nothing was wrong. My old comptuer ran Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit (x 86) but this one runs the same only 64-bit, could be the problem.

OS: Windows Vista Ultimate (x 64-Bit)

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi guys,.

Did you guys check with Dell to see if they provide a 64-bit driver for the remote update? or with Phillips?  The firmware may need to be updated too if possible.

  • E10: Update Rollup 1 for eHome Infrared Receiver for Win XP MCE 2005

    Hey all, yet another question.

    I'm on Qosmio E10 with MCE 2004.
When I go to "Windows Update" I see something called "Update Rollup 1 for eHome Infrared Receiver for Windows XP Media Center 2005" (KB888795) Edition "»
It is optional and install it I has yet because I'm not sure if I'm supposed to install at all since I'm on MCE 2004.

I read another thread on this forum saying that this update completely screwed the infrared receiver on some configurations.

So, question: Toshiba recommends installing this update for MCE 2005 on an MCE 2004 installation?

(I was surprised that it appears in Windows Update despite my MCE 2004..., perhaps a bug of Microsoft?)
    Later,.

    Alcahest

    Hello

My opinion is: don t touch a system running unless you are talking about an update to security... but MS recommends the update, so you can do the update, but it is at your own risk... as far as I know, Toshiba do support the software they offer with unit... not necessarily MS Update.
In this case, you can try to run the update. If something goes wrong, you can roll back the OS with Restore tool.

    Good bye

I agree with you - I found the advantage of being a poor wobbly excuse for the browser that is a little more than a crippled metro-isee, IE version.

You can also go into settings-> system and change the default applications affecting IE.

  • If I uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x 86 9.0.30729.6161 what happened?

    If I uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x 86 9.0.30729.6161 what happened?

    Hi Muhamad,

The Package Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable installs runtime components of Visual C++ libraries required to run applications developed with Visual C++ on a computer that does not have Visual C++ 2008.

This package installs runtime components of the libraries C Runtime (CRT), Standard C++, ATL, MFC, OpenMP and MSDIA. For libraries that support side-by-side deployment model (CRT, SCL, ATL, MFC, OpenMP), they are installed into the native assembly cache, also called WinSxS folder on the Windows operating system versions that support side-by-side assemblies.

XPS Document Writer create the *.xml to aid Microsoft Open XML Paper Specification files.  This is the format of Microsoft 'electronic paper' developed as an 'alternative' in Adobe pdf format.

I agree, it's a bit lame, especially given that few people have actually downloaded the necessary XPS document viewer that is required to view the files created by the XPS Document Writer, but there is no real need to remove it.

However, if you really want to get rid of it (there may be a few minor remains), follow these steps:

    1. Open Printers and faxes
    2. Right-click on the icon for the XPS Document Writer and select Remove
    3. In printers and faxes, click file > server properties
    4. Click the tab drivers
    5. Select Microsoft XPS Document Writer, and then click on remove
    6. OK your way out and close printers and faxes
