  I've recently upgraded from Vista to Win7 and in the process reformated my computer now when I try to run Sins of a Solar Empire all I get is the window that gives me the options to update game, the game, the update of my series and to open the Getting Started Guide. The game was working fine until I switched to Win7 and I tried all other options in the start window.

  I also tried to Use the run a program made for previous versions of widows and I get the same thing.

  Y at - it a setting for Win7 I need to try or is this a problem with the game itself?

  I have this game and it works fine without using compatibility features. Have you tried to uninstall the game and put it back?

  Try instead to use the Launcher to start the game, go to the sins of a Solar Empire game folder and clicking on the icon of the application itself.

  Also, I entrenchment and highly recommend to add for the space ports! The only problem I had with the game is that it will not

  recognize the maps that I downloaded or made via Galaxy Forge :(

  Hi, I just bought the NB100 and have a few questions, I hope someone can help me with.
  The fan icon goes grey or white according to the parameters by using FN and F6, but I can't feel any difference in the air around the grid on the right. It is on when the icon shows white or gray? Does really?
  My second question is about the graphics settings. The intel power option that appears when the icon in the taskbar graphivs is double clicked seems to be disabled. There are automatic brightness sliders and energy saving, but none can be selected, how is it permits?
  My last question is about the games. I tried a few alumni who were not graphic intensive, Deus Ex and the sins of a solar empire, but I had problems in the text boxes that require a response, and in the case of Deus Ex, they say that the graphics drivers are not compatible. Has anyone got Ant with games? I travel a lot and thinking, I want to have one or two other than playing cards installed etc.

  On my machine that F6 is to mute sound, F8 is for the cooling fan. Based on this fact the fan speed change.
  I can't help with the power settings, like mine all seem to work OK and I can make changes.
  Have you tried changing the settings through preferences/system/Power Management?

  I've had this computer for about a year now and it's just recently decided to die 3 days prior to the end of my warranty. Stroke of luck, I thought get fixed and ready to go. I used it for playing games its been quite a nice game until recently machine.   That s not all goes well publish your story on your laptop, but I think the same as you. I think the laptop is overheating. You can try to clean it with a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans.

  Hello. I posted this question in several other forums on the internet, but nobody seems to have an answer for me, so I thought I'd try here. My Lenovo y480 was having serious problems playing some of my steam games recently, such as Storm Rising, chivalry: Medieval Warfare, rusty, Sins of a Solar Empire and others. My laptop has the 650 gt, which comes with an Intel HD 4000 in a framework of Optimus, and whenever I try to play one of these games I have one of several possible errors. Either the game will run in windowed mode of low resolution, which crash and will give an error message on a d3d9 or d3d error, sometimes accompanied by a black or white screen flashing, if I put it at the highest resolution (1366 x 768) or if I put it in mode full screen. This happens with rust and chivalry. With storm rising, the game immediately crashes and gives an error d3d (impossible to create the d3d device) on a white screen. I tried to change the resolution by default in the configuration files of games to my standard resolution, so to update my drivers and directx. However, nothing has been able to solve these problems. Can anyone possibly tell me what is the cause and how to fix it? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

  Thanks for the help! I followed your advice and looked for older drivers, and in the process, I noticed that there are several newer drivers me had not prepared my GeForce experience. I downloaded the latest drivers and a newer version of GeForce experience, and it fixed all the questions I had. I certainly would have thought to update manually the drivers beforehand. Thank you!

  I have a dos/Windows 95 master of Orion 2 and really desperate male relative.  Is it possible to install this game on a Windows 7 system?   He repeats to me that there is a mismatch due to 64-bit system.  I used the program in the control panel for trying to install programs designed for earlier versions of windows, but the compatibility program was not able to help me.  I also tried the right click on the Setup icon, select properties and change the compatibility of the system, but also the resolution here, but alas no luck.  Thank you!

  If its a DOS game I would suggest using DOSBox.  It's a bit complicated so I won't have a full run down here.  But assuming that this male relative has used BACK before he shouldn't have any problems.

  If it is a real 16-bit Windows application.  Then you could use a Virtual Machine, assuming that your CPU supports the required technology (many do not) and installs an earlier version of Windows on them.  Unless you use the professional version of Windows 7.  Then you can download 'XP Mode' which is a virtual machine that comes with a copy of Windows XP.

  A failure there is a Master of Orion 3 released a few years ago, I'm not on top of my head, if its compatible with Windows 7 64 bit.  But there are also the Sins of a Solar Empire, which is compatible, is a little different, because his real time, but his little near the same concept. :-) Paul Smith - MVP for Windows desktop experience...   I'm trying to reclaim space on my hard drive.  Age of Empires online takes more than 2 GB and I do not play.  I could not find anywhere it uninstall on my PC. I looked in google and all I find is things for Age of Empires III.  I reinstalled and then went to the installation of programs and uninstalled. The stuff is still there.
