Unknown update

Checkpoint system restore Windows created for windows xp software update - KB952011, but this update is not present in the installed updates or windows update history. I have not installed this update. This checkpoint was created at the same time I installed Picasa 3.  I would like to know if this is a real Windows security update.

KB952011 is apparently installed by Picasa 3 for systems that require the update to Picasa can function - http://picasa.google.com/support/bin/search.py?ctx=en%3Asearchbox&forum=1&query=KB952011

It was installed by Picasa, then you must direct any questions about this issue in the forum of Picasa for Windows.

If it is not listed in Add/Remove programs then apparently, it can only be uninstalled by uninstalling Picasa. Key word being apparently since Google shows no information that informs the user of the installation of KB952011 with Picasa 3.

I bought a new version of Norton Utilities.  They use the same basic logic to save the settings in their programs.  This does not work, and they made it the version or corrupt files that are required by the ActiveX.  Messages say it happened because of automatic updates from Microsoft.  How to get back some unknown update or restore point, as recommended in the post above?  Someone at - there a real fix for this update?  Or even a glimpse of how to solve the problem?  I tried dozens of things without a bit of luck to all!  Thank you.

    Hello Allen,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

According to the scenario, and from now on, I would say that you want to run system restore, and then try to install an update.

Step 1: Perform the system restore

    To use the system restore

Before you start the system restore, save open files and close all programs. System Restore will restart your PC.

    1. Open the system restore by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type System Restoreand then, in the list of results, click System Restore. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. Follow the steps in the wizard to select a restore point and restore your computer.

Important: When you use the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed. Utility Norton may also be removed.

You can also check: System Restore: frequently asked questions

Step 2: Do a selective (one) approach when you install updates.

    1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Update, and then in the list of results, click Windows Update.
    2. In the left pane, click check for updates, and then wait while Windows searches the latest updates for your computer.

    3. If you see a message telling you that important updates are available, or you say to look at the important updates, click the message to view and select the updates to install.

    4. In the list, click the important updates for more information. Select the check boxes for the updates that you want to install and then click OK.

    5. Click install updates.

Note: Read and accept the terms of the license and then click on Finishing If the update requires it. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Now, try the above steps and let us know the result, we will be happy to help you further.

    Thank you.

  • Music/video Windows 8 app is no longer detect content iTunes after an update of nonsense

    Hello

Using Windows 8 since I got my first gen Surface Pro 128 GB. Due to the low built-in storage available (I went from a 500 GB SSHD to a 128 GB SSD), I decided to get a 64 GB MicroSD card and transfer my library downloads, music and videos on it. At first, it doesn't seem to work as Windows Media Player was not recognizing the MicroSD card correctly contents. That was solved by creating a mount point for my MicroSD to the root of my C: drive and settle the island and video libraries.
Everything worked as expected in Windows media player and the underground music and video apps. Then, after some unknown update (there were several Windows and subway applications between when the time I used the metro apps), I was no longer able to use apps metro play my iTunes audio/video AND no content were applications detecting music/videos that were not in my iTunes library. WTF has Microsoft done again?

Maybe I need to put modern apps as my default player for them to detect my content? Because it is similar to the beast move that Microsoft made to force users to keep that as their default browser (which does not affect me much); to use the metro to know version, you must set it as your default browser.

    Hello

Have you tried to create a VHD/XVHD on the MicroSD card and mount this virtual hard disk on your computer? This should solve the problems you should meet about memory 'external' vs local drivespace.

    A complete guide is given here;

  • Audio driver on Tecra A8 problems

We have a set of about 20 of Tecra A8 in our society. All of our updates are controlled by a local windows update server and all the new windows updates are approved by week. Some of the A8, after an unknown update had any audio just stop them working.

We have tried to reinstall the Realtek drives, but nothing has changed. But when we use a utility that extracts a functional A8 readers and install it on the faulty A8 audio suddenly starts working again.

Any ideas how we can solve the problem without having to use a 3rd party tool? Update of readers? Windows update specific we would have maybe on an A8?

Could you please tell me if the SP3 for XP (I guess only you´re with XP on your machines) was already installed?

First I would recommend you to check if the KB888111 is installed. Microsoft has already published one, but previous versions has not worked properly and now they come out a modified version of the KB888111 so he should fix the problems with your sounddrivers and internal sound architecture in windows.

Otherwise I suggest a single machine and let windows performs a full update. After the windows update, check that the sound works and reinstall the KB888111. If this brings no solution, then remove step by step just recently installed windows updates and check if the sound works.

It s delicate because the drivers/windows it s related question, but I suppose it must have something to do with the UAA (Universal Audio Architecture) of Windows XP...

  • VMS IPS MC 2.2 2.3

I'm having trouble with a VMS, IPS MC 2.2 running server. When I try to get an update of signature (no matter the level of signature), I get an error. Ther error is "update object failed. Unknown update type. "Someone has any idea how to solve this problem? I have put signatures in the right folder, signatures are in the dropdown to choose. Interestingly enough (that I copied other files unintentionally) only records dealing with IPS/IDS, come as chooseable. Under the 2.1 IPS, other files such as IOS for routers have been availible as well (although I doubt that they would work).

I start with IPS MC 2.0, installed/upgraded IPS MC 2.1 and 2.2 of MC IPS then set to day/install

You should not the zip file yourself.

For each update of the signature there .pkg files and .zip files that can be downloaded.

The .pkg file, this is what the sensor itself uses to update.

The .zip file, this is what the IPS MC (VMS) use updates. The .zip file contains inside the same file .pkg needed by the sensor as well as a few additional files required specifically by the MC IPS (VMS).

If you zip manually the .pkg the .zip file will be missing the extra file that needs the MC IPS.

So, if you manually apply the update to the sensor then use the .pkg files available through links from this page:

    http://www.Cisco.com/Kobayashi/SW-Center/ciscosecure/IDs/crypto/

BUT if you push updates by IPS MC then you download the .zip files available through links on this page:

  • convert the data in the table to mix cases

    Hi all

I have a table that contains data.
This table has columns, id, and description.

I want to update my table to convert data to toss the case.
From now on, all my data in the table are tiny.

What I mean when mixed is the first letter of each word is capitalized and the rest lowercase.
is there a function I can use?

    example:
    Amended/Resentence, Type Unknown
    Thank you

You can use the INITCAP function.

    update table
    set description = INITCAP(description);

    Example:

  • Phone no ID number does not after updating ios 10, showing "unknown"

Hi, I have recently updated to ios 10 on my iPhone 5s, after which my phone in the tab displays "unknown". Also I am not able to change a put my number inside. How to solve the problem? Asked me again activate Facetime and iMessage.

    Hello Milan_Mumbai,

I think I understand your unknown phone number display in your settings. Also, you are being invited to activate new iMessage and FaceTime. These two issues have started after the update to iOS 10. I know not when it can be on your iPhone is not behave as expected after an update. I'm happy to help you.

If there is a problem with your phone number in the settings, it could impact the iMessage and activations of FaceTime. First of all, I recommend you restart your iPhone. Restarting may solve many unexpected behaviours. Please use the steps below to restart if necessary.

    1. Press and hold the sleep/wake button until the Red slider appears.
    2. Drag the slider to turn off your device completely off.
    3. Once the device turns off, press and hold the sleep/wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

Restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

If the problem persists, follow the steps below.

    1. Make sure that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network or cellular data. If you use an iPhone, you will need the SMS messaging to activate your phone number with iMessage and FaceTime. Depending on your operator, you might be charged for the SMS.
    2. Go to settings > general > Date & time and make sure you have properly configured your zone.

If you get an error when you try to activate FaceTime or iMessage

    Have a wonderful day!

  • Update iOS 9.3.5 failed on iPad. Now unable to update or restore to factory presets. "An unknown error has occurred (52).

I tried to update my iPad for iOS 9.3.4 iOS 9.3.5 directly since the latest version of iTunes on Macbook Pro running the latest update of El Capitan. I tried the update of the iPad without iTunes, but he failed and showed the photo to connect to iTunes.

The update failed to halfway through (don't remember the exact message) so I unplugged the iPad, restarted iTunes, and tried the update, but the update constantly fails with the message "an unknown error has occurred (52). I also tried via iTunes on my iMac running Yosemite, but has not as well.

I did all the things listed here:

The iPad was working fine before the update attempt.

Is there than anything left to try? This iOS update broken my iPad?

Have you tried to put the iPad into recovery mode?

  • problem with update of apps - ann unknown error occurred 11503

Almost daily when I try to update my IOS apps in iTunes I get error - ' could purchase < app > an unknown error has occurred. There was an error in the iTunes store' with error 11503. This is the case most of the time but not all the time. If I try again later, I am sometimes able to update applications. I check the status of the iTunes store and it shows no problem. I log out and back in iTunes (last verse.) and it does not help. The solution is to make the app on the device (iPhone, with the latest IOS) updates. There's other light this or you will suggest fix?

I know with iOS9 that apple went to a more direct service provider device app store. The main difference was you could are no longer synchronized apps from a device to iTunes, but you could still make it on the other hand, as well as download on iTunes. With "thinning" each device has received a version customized for a specific application for the model of the device but if you downloaded iTunes no thinning version was as long as it works on any iOS hardware. It is in itself would not explain your experience, but I wonder if it is somehow connected and perhaps it is not a version not cleared up (wild guess)?

  • Unknown device on the Satellite A100-153, after BIOS update to 5.1

    ACPI\TOS1901 * TOS1901<--- this="" is="" the="" unknown="" device="" after="" bios="" update="" to="" 5.10="" on="" my="" satellite="" a100-153="">

Vista now shows it in as unknown device manager; the TOS1900 showed up too, but after installation of Toshiba Value Pack for Vista, it went.

    Help, please. WHICH IS: ACPI\TOS1901 * TOS1901

    Hello

ACPI-> Advanced Configuration and Power Interface
ACPI defines hardware and software interfaces that allow focus on the OS configuration and power management to enumerate and configure motherboard devices.
For example: ACPI is necessary for the standby and hibernation mode.

Now your question; the new BIOS has been updated and configured to using VISTA.
It seems that VISTA was not compatible with the previous version of BIOS because the ACPI interface. Now you can install Vista on the laptop, but it seems that you need a driver. Possibly new chipset driver version might help. But as you probably know, the drivers are not available at this time. Unfortunately

  • Unknown error what iOS update

Hi, I have an iPad 2 16 GB (Wi - Fi + 3 G). I've never used it because I have an iPad. 10 days back I thought to upgrade, it's OS and use it.

He had iOS 4.3.3 there is no option to download updates OS for the device itself. I connect it to iTunes, download latest iOS (9.2.1) but I could not be updated.

Whenever I try to update, it shows an unknown error. I tried to update on 3 different computers (2 PC and a MacBook Pro), I have the latest version of iTunes installed on these computers all three.

iPad is also on the recovery mode, I can't use it. I tried a hard reset but it happened again in recovery mode.

    What should I do now?

    Thank you

    Ramakant

    Hey Peter,

I understand that you found an unknown error while trying to upgrade from your iPad with iTunes 2. Now it is stuck in so recovery mode, let's see if we can get this sorted out.

The first thing to look at is when you get the unknown error, it's that it is usually followed by a number. The restoration again trying to see what number comes up and then read the article below to match the associated port number. It will probably be a problem with the network, security software or even may be a hardware problem with your iPad.
