ZBook 17 HP Mobile Workstation: hardware

Hello

I had a black spot in my screen months ago and now I have 3 points on the left side of my screen. I have no idea what it can be and how.

thanx

Dead on the screen pixels?

Depending on where they are located and how close HP can replace the Panel warranty:

To identify the network controller, you will need to provide the PCI\VEN hardware ID string as seen in the image of the example below.

Open the section of the network cards by clicking the trianngle on his left and then right click on the device you need the driver for. Select Properties to call the Properties window , as shown below.

Select the Details tab, and then use the drop-down arrow to select the material ID.

After the string of alphanumeric characters together here.

You can do the same for any device not already identified by your operating system.

  • 8570w HP EliteBook mobile workstation. Starting stalls.

My company uses HP laptops, and that the warranty is up, we change our laptops. My last two phones were EliteBook mobile workstations. Both have the same problem. My current EliteBook is a 8570w. Two laptops at home and at work, the appropriate docking station dock. Here's the question. If I have a USB device, as a recorder Sony handheld, connected to any of the USB ports, the boot stops at the 'stage of HP logo' and will not proceed until I disconnect the USB device. After starting, I can reconnect the USB device. It's annoying to have cross the disconnection - connect the process, I decided to find the source of the problem and fix it. The problem is that neither I nor anyone else seems to have the answer, but probably the Hang Up is in the BIOS. Is there a a way to solve this problem by making a correction in the BIOS. It seems strange that the boot sequence can not handle a 'active USB device' temporarily ignoring it. Is there a solution to this problem?

    Hello

I help my friend to find the best solution for portable computers in multimedia company.

I have been through several manufacturers custom, but the problem is the battery life.

First and most important requirement is up to 4-5 hours for presentations in the field (without power outlets are available). If the extra strong battery option is exists, it would be excellent.

Programs, which will be used are CAD, SolidWorks, Mathematica, Matlab, Simulink and Photo/video editing software (don't know which yet), so the hardware of the laptop must be able to run those.

Screen 4 K is very beneficial for presentations, but if she would bring to the battery life much, can be reduced to the HD.

The price cap is approximately $4 K.

Basically, I'm looking for the best combination of CPU/GPU with the life of the battery to the spirit and requirements of the program.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

for MODs, this should be moved to a different category, feel free to do so.

  • MAF: Implementation of the Secure Mobile Workstation

    Hi Oracle Experts,

I'm looking to implement the OTHER piece in my existing application.  Because I am not versed in IDM, how long do you it would take me?  I am looking for an order of magnitude.  1 week?  1 month?

    Thank you!

    TreeStrepek

Knowing that it is a totally new area and your inexperience with IDM I would say 1 week is too less. You never know what questions you would hit.

An order of magnitude of 3 weeks should be a just estimate if you are trying to explore all the features.

  • Restoring factory EliteBook 8730w (Mobile Workstation)

Anyone know if there is a recovery on the 8730w default partition?

I have a machine to a dismissed employee, nobody knows the user login, there doesn't seem to be an admin user, the hard drive has a special native mode SATA driver so that I can not start with a brick it emergency linux boot disk... no user is "with HP SpareKey" (whatever that is or has been).

F11 does not start on a factory restore partition and there is no option to boot for the restoration of the factory menu (press ESC at startup and the options are: F1 - Information System;) F2 - Diagnostics; F3 - Insider Intel CIRA - what of * that *?; F7 - HP SpareKey; F9 - device boot options; F12 - initialization of the network; Sign up - keep booting)

    Quite sad, really

Please don't tell me that I need to find the disk supplied with the machine because that will not happen!

    Chris

    Hey, Chris:

Just order a new set of recovery disks by calling HP to 1-800-334-5144.  You will need to provide the model # and # of series.

    It costs $10.

If F11 does not work, then the recovery partition is either missing, or faulty.

You can also make your own drive of W7 or Vista installation and reinstall this way if you can read the 25 product key MS Vista or W7 characters on the bottom of the laptop.

If you want to go this route, please let me know what OS you are running and give you directions to setup you need to do different procedures for Vista or W7.

  • T7V51EA: ZBOOK 15 G3 - MXM... what product code?

    Hello world

I want to know what model of Zbook G3 15 MXM slot for GPU upgrade.
I'm in Italy and I'm looking for this product code: T7V51EA with over-pants w5710m GPU. Is this a MXM have?

What codes of laptops have the MXM slot (computer 15 "laptop)?

    Thanks for the help guys

You have more than one product. The Zbook 15 Studio G3 is a different laptop, as the 15U. The U15 lacks an MXM slot and neither does the model Studio. In both cases, the video is soldered to the motherboard. Zbook 15 G3 Mobile Workstation models all have an MXM slot and understand those you list a MXM graphics card. You can't assume that you can replace and upgrade the video card with something other than an official part of HP. MXM video cards are not in 'standard' as maps of office. Also the nVidia Quadro and AMD over-pants maps use a different radiator.

I can personally verify the configuration of the workstation Mobile G3 Zbook I an and that you actually installed an inside MXM graphics card and I found the manual for the 15U and Studio and the nether show an MXM slot. Return ticket for any other information you might need.

    3, not 2... SS = USB 3.0

Steps, I tried to solve the problems include:

    Update drivers

Make sure that Windows Service Pack 1 is installed

Wiping my computer with a new installation of Windows 7 and re - install all drivers and windows updates.

Download and install the latest pack of Nvidia CUDA.

No positive results so far. It seems also that CC is having a difficult time, install the programs successfully on my computer. The CC library install fails when I install CC Desktop as well, and he gave me an error saying that it was not compatible with other software from adobe installed. But there is no other software Adobe installed at that time.

    Here are my machine features:

    Zbook 15 HP Mobile Workstation

    Intel Core i7-4800MQ CPU @ 2, 7GHz

    NVidia Quadro K2100m

    Intel HD 4600 graphics card

    32 GB OF RAM

Good, well. I figured this out.

On a hunch, I downloaded Service Pack 1 of Windows directly from the site and installed from its own Installer. It worked. Apparently Windows Updater has not been installed properly, and that's what was causing the problem.
