Unpluging printer creates Virtual Port Mismatch

Ive installed my printer Dymo 450 turbo twin perfectly. its been working for months. However, once I took my Dell Latitude mobile E5520 and reconnected the USB physical port EVEN on my computer, the print spooler has the wrong virtual port assigned.

Of;

Devices and printers >(right-click dymo) properties > Hardware tab > Usb printing support

The location is listed as "Port_ #0001.Hub_ #0004.

(this will be mapped to the virtual port USB004, OK?)

But on the.

Devices and printers > printer properties (click right dymo) > Ports tab >

Virtual port USB002 is selected.

the only other choice options are;

USB001 (which is a zebra printer work)

USB002 (not working dymo)

USB005 (brother laser work)

No other ports are listed.

I tried to create a Local Port called USB004 without success.

Ive also tried to go into Device Manager and restart-disable-reactivation USB Printer Support for Port_ #0001.Hub_ #0004

also tried to update the driver to USB print media in the wizard.

Without success.

How do I add USB004, or re - map the printer to use the correct virtual port?

I can post pictures if necessary but not sure about the site policy, so I'm not going until asked.

a little history about me,

IM the head of the company and am VERY familiar with Windows behind the scenes, the registry, the sysadmin and the CLI.

I'm looking for a solution to the problem, but MORE importantly! I'm looking for WHY the solution WORKED. I believe that in mounting "teach a man to fish".

I work Monday to Friday 9-5 and answered answers in a very timely manner. Feel free to request any additional information or clarification of the measures taken.

  • How to set up a "dummy" or "virtual" port

Hi, I'm relatively new to Labview programming.  I work with the NI USB-6212.  I was wondering if it is possible to create a "dummy" or "virtual" port, so I can finally create a port for example line output. port0/line16.  Basically I want some bits to go to this line and the "status quo".

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    VK

There are several ways to address the issue and how you will use this 'virtual' Port is one of the choice between the methods.

The easiest way is to create a USB-6212 simulation:

    Interfaces and select Max devices

Right click > create new > DAQmx simulated device or modular instrument

Expand + M series: DAQ and select NI USB 6212.

You'll be able to create scales channels etc. that are appropriate for a tasks OR USB 6212 assistant DAQmx will treat it as if it was true, and you can try the task and, LabVIEW code call a task on a simulated device will work just fine.

The down side is when you actually get material its often difficult to retarget the tasks for using the real device (no option to send the task... no option to replace the device with...) Do not hesitate at the idea of Kudos. If you need to change the task or swap device names and which is not infallible.

Another option that I use for my development (and, I code by intention... very rarely have any material or simulated in my cube)

must care not the configuration of the task until I integrate with hardware.  Allows to set the example that I have in my current project:

With the exception of the name of the task that this exact code is part of the project I opened today.  This AE wraps completely all I want to do with this task.  Now, I have the code to fall in my application and can create the easilly task on the target computer.  Notice of Here.vi? I'll just go through the hierarchy of the project and find all instances. Create the task and TEST IT on the live system.  When all instances of here.vi went my code is error free and integrated with the hardware running.

[edit] it is what happens with a break in three hours while you answer.  Tim beats you to it

  • Windows 7 64 bit cannot create local port through registry

    Hi all

I write a vbs to create a local port to connect to our server to printer (ie the local port for \\PrintServer\PrintQueue1). I can create the succesfully local port by editing the registry HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Ports and restart the spooler service in Windows 7 32 bit. However, the same script can not create the port in Windows 7 64 bit. The registry has also been changed, but cannot create the local port after you restart the spooler service. Does anyone know what is difference between 32 and 64-bit Windows when creating the local port?

Turns out in my case is a subtly incorrect registry key in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Ports].  Specifically, the (default) entry has existed as white.  Must read (value not set).  A solution is to export the key to a file... and are looking for online reading: @= "", open the file and delete this line, port of registry and Rename Ports.bad (for backup), and then import the file. "  That's what I did and it worked fine after restarting the spooler.  Another solution might be easier to remove the (default) entry, and then restart the spooler... In any case, I have now all my ports which survive a reboot.

  • USB 0001 virtual port for UsB not found

When inatalling a Xerox Phaser 8560DN to my laptop HP Win 7 professinal it does not find the virtual USB 0001 port for UsB. I installed the printer even to other laptops and no prblem. When you come to select the port the virtual prot is tehre but not so much in this laptop and HP peole say it is not their problem. Any suggestions on what to do?

    Hello

You don't see any other virtual ports except USB 0001?

Follow these steps and check if that helps:

    1. go in Control Panel.
2 Select all Control Panel items.
    3. open devices and printers.
    4. at the top of the window, select Add a printer.
    5. Select Add a local printer.
    6. If you want to choose a Printer Port, select use an existing port.
    7. in the drop-down list, select USB001 or USB0002 (virtual printer to USB Port).
    8. Select the next button.
    9. in the manufacturers section, select HP.
    10. in the printers section, search for your printer model and select it.

Note: If your printer does not appear in the list of HP, select nearest LaserJet series model number.

Click the Windows Update button. WU get the database driver for all HP printers.

Note: the search may take a while.

When the search is complete, go back to the HP section and your printer should now appear there. Select it and click the next button.

Your printer appears in the printer name box, click Next again and the printer will be installed.

  • UCSM VM - FEX create when port-profile name cannot be used. (dot)

    UCSM q with 6120XP 2.01

I can create using port-profile. (dot) for example "VLAN30 - 192.168.1", but it causes a warning message (pictured below)

so I try to change the name of VLAN30-192-168-1 it can work very well

My question is can I use. (point) in my profile of the port name?

PS. I checked the manual of cisco

This name can be between 1 and 31 ASCII alphanumeric. You can not

Use spaces or other special characters as - (dash) _

(underscore character). (period), and: (colon), and you cannot change this name

Once the object has been saved.

    Thank you

We have logged a bug for this CSCtw50228 - thanks to Yasmin!

Our developers have confirmed that while other objects have name validation, virtual computer Port profiles are not, who raises the error you see because NXOS cannot process ".» (periods).  The names of service profiles are another matter that NXOS has no knowledge of these objects.

The solution is to avoid using periods in the VM profile names.  Use a dashboard.

  • WWPN-derivation-virtualized-port

So I'm digging the Cisco C210 boxes.  I have several held so far.

Just got a B series.    I feel like I'm back to Catholic school being scolded!   Hate me this thing! :-)

I went through a laboratory firefly book to familiarize yourself with the configuration.    I "think" I have everything set up properly...

I created a service profile, so I could in a few clicks apply to all four of my servers.  When I apply I get

descr = "Service configuration profile Server1 failed for wwpn-derivation-virtualized-port"

Good old google wasn't able to help me with this one.  I'm old-school Call Manager and person of Contact Center.  This virtualization stuff is very recent.  No experience with SAN.

Is anyone able to tell me that I may have missed the error?

    Thanks in advance!

    Del,

What WWPN pool is configured for the HBAs in your service profile?

We can if expected this error message when we use the option 'Default material' and that the blade is installed with Cisco M81KR adapter (it does not have burnt in address WWPN)

If this is the case, then try to create a WWPN pool and configure the service profile / HBAs to use WWPN from the pool.

  • NPIV Virtual Port and WWN VM

    Hi guys,.

Looking at doc NPIV for VCAP-DCA. Little confusion of Virtual Port, NPIV and VM WWN.

Some study guide talks on up to 4 virtual port by virtual computer. I understand the virtual port pair is WWN assigned to the virtual machine that can be used as vHBA to the FC fabric. In my lab 5.5, I can assign up to 16 pairs WWN on a virtual machine (8 HW).

I can see the limit of 4 virtual port in the v4.1 document, but couldn't find it in v5 and v5.5. This limit removed from v5 and later?

    Thank you.

VMware vSphere 4 - ESX and vCenter Server

Each virtual machine can have up to 4 virtual ports. Active NPIV VMS are assigned exactly 4 WWN NPIV related, which is used to communicate with the physical host bus adapters through virtual ports. As a result, virtual machines can use up to 4 physical HBA to purposes are NPIV.

    Documentation Centre of vSphere 5.5

In fact, it is given in the documentation of 5.5. You might have missed it. Here is the link for it

    Documentation Centre of vSphere 5.5

You can have up to 16 WWN. "The documentation States" ""you can create 1 to 16 pairs WWN, which may be mapped to the first from 1 to 16 physical FC HBA on the host. "

  • Adding a virtual ports GRPE distributed and obtaining his object reference managed

I added a group of virtual ports to the DVS using the AddDVPortgroup_Task (...) method.

Now, I want to recover the object managed this group to port reference.

Is it possible to get the task itself or what I need to do another discovery of the dvs for this?

    Thank you

VSphere API documents - AddDVPortgroup_Task, the task does not return the reference to the newly created DVPortgroup. I know that some functions participated once, it's 'info.result' contains the object that has been created, but in the case of DVPortgroup, you will need to ask for it.

  • relocation of adobe acrobat 7 prof after upgrading OS but almost creates pdf port

Download Manager used to reinstall adobe acrobat 7 Professional after the operating system upgrade to windows 7. Installation ends but fails with the error "attention 20225. "Adobe Acrobat 7.0.5 implemented could not create a new point Adobe PDF Port / printer. Adobe is installed but I can no longer print to PDF or use Adobe directly to create the pdf file of the file. This feature was available before reinstallation.

    How can I fix it?

What you can do, it is installing a PS like the HP 4800PS printer and rename as the Adobe PDF printer. The port should be defined as a FILE:. When you print to the printer, you will save the file somewhere. By default, it is a PS file, usually with a PRN, unless you used something else. Simply open this file in Distiller to complete the creation of the PDF file. It is also possible to configure a control record in Distiller, to automate the process somewhat.

    Error message

    Hi Matthew,

Thank you for following up after you fix your problem.  I'm glad to hear that you do not encounter this problem more.

Here is an article that lists the reasons for this error (although unfortunately, I cannot pin down which is the exact cause in this case).

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/03123D0E8A36C48E862577A4005B6BAA

NOTE: This article specifies that the error occurs at startup task VI DAQmx.  You do not use the start task VI, so the task starts automatically in the DAQmx Read function.  The error will occur instead in the DAQmx virtual channel create, that you encounter in your error.

I hope this gives you an idea about what could have gone wrong, and I'm sorry he is no more details.

  • want to create virtual hot spot WiFi

    Original title:

    virtual hotspot

Hi, I have windows 7 home basic.i want to create virtual hot point for wifi but the program is not there.it is to windows 8. until he's I do? Please answer my question

In fact, Windows 7 includes Microsoft virtual wifi miniport map - which can be used to create a "virtual hotspot.

First of all, make sure that you have the current driver for your wireless card.  If you have a computer of 'brand', go to the computer manufacturer's web site, enter the information requested on your model and find the correct driver.  Download and install the driver if it is newer than the one currently installed.

Then follow the directions here--> http://www.wikihow.com/Enable-a-Virtual-WiFi-in-Windows

    Hello

Update the WiFi driver - if built-in check with the site of the manufacturer of the system. Then check with the real
site of the manufacturer of the device if possible. Of course, if a separate device then check with its creator. If not most recent
driver, then re - install the original.

The virtual Port is used to allow other WiFi devices to connect to the internet via your computer
WiFi. If you do not use this function, you can then disable the virtual card. Device Manager-
Network - Virtual WiFi double click on it - the pilot - Disable tab.

    I hope this helps.
