Facebook. A game that I play every day, several times a day, now give me "Secured", says the certificate has expired. I really don't like. I know this site what it is & game. There is no Add button. I tried all your troubleshooting & nothing doesn't work. Now what?

Try going to this site. Also, if you could tell me the certificate type. I can help you better.

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to your router settings afer, who began to question?

You can test it by introducing another device wireless (WIFI active mobile phone for example) and check if it uses your unsecured connection to connect. If you are unable to connect to the network using another wireless device you are sure that it cannot be used by others unless you share the password with them.

To be on the safer side, I recommend contact you the router / ISP (Internet Service Provider) and check if it is necessary to change the configuration in the router.

  • Adding a security key for an internet connection

We already had a wireless internet connection set up, which we use for a year... A neighbour came round to say that they are able to connect to our network unsecured connection, so obviously I need now to "fix". I do this by adding a security key? I followed the instructions of windows on this operation, but it says it cannot detect our router although it is plugged directly to the laptop.

Not a question for the forum of Security Essentials.  Visit the website of the manufacturer of your router and look at fixing it.  This key will be involved in you logging into the router and setting a WEP (or other).  Once this is done, you MUST use the same key for devices in your home.

  • Carrier - installation and basic connection issues

We have never used or installed the front carrier.  We currently use Tidal 5.3 x and a sandbox to 6.2 upgrade.  I looked at all the documentations of carrier I can find or miss me even a few very simple questions - more I can't "help" to the carrier to work.

    1. WHERE to install the carrier and why?  CM server?  Master Server?  Desktop computer?  If it's on a server, then should the user executing remote server in order to transport the user?
    2. I have tried to install on each of the above, but a connection could not be.  When I click on 'test', I get the error "Failed to Connect [failed to connect with responseCode [404]] what should I be entered in each of the areas following connections?  My comments indicate that I assumed/attempted to enter and received the above error.

    • Server - server name?  master?  Y at - it a specific format, in that it must be?
    • DSP/Plug in name - I found a dsp on my CM server file named YOUR - 6.0.dsp - should I put YOUR - 6.0 here?
    • User - user of the network which is a Super user of tide?  aka networkname\superuser?
    • pwd - pwd for this user windows?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Hi Patricia,

    1. the carrier is installed on the Client Manager - CM is essentially a web to manage the demands of customers, orders sacmd and Server utility for the transport of jobs from one environment to the other. A tide user should be given rights to move Production jobs, and I think tide user must be able to sign the cm as well.

    2. I looked at an older copy of user guide 6.1 carrier provides instructions on how to complete these fields:

To create a connection: (on page 32)

    • In the connection name field, enter the name of the connection file.
    • In the server name field, enter the name of the Client Manager machine.
    • DSP/Plugin name, enter the name of the primary instance.
    • The name of the primary instance is the name of YOUR DSP or Plugin. It is displayed from the user Web interface in master status pane.
    • In the Server Port field, enter the Web Service used by the Web Client tide listening port. The default value is 8080 for unsecured connections and 8443 for secure connections.
    • In the user and password fields, enter a valid Business Planner user name and a password.
    • Select the secure HTTP option if you want to connect safely through the HTTPS protocol.

This option is only enabled if the carrier has been configured for sure
connections. Figure 8 is an example of a carrier not configured for sure
    connections.

  • Can not disable "automatically connect" option on WIFI connections

What I think is really strange or normal.

I have windows 8 on my laptop and a wireless adapter Inter Centrino N-2230.

Recently, all the WIFI connections that appear as available have the option "auto-connect" checked. I uncheck the box, but they will be automatically checked again.  I don't know that previously, all wifi connections before the box unchecked by default.

However, this is NOT the case with the WiFi one, I mainly use, IE my home cable connection. I can uncheck the option for this one and it remains disabled. Weird.

I'm a bit worried that if I use my laptop near an unsecured connection, it will automatically connect to it without my knowing which resulted in security problems.

No idea if it's a problem and how to solve?

    Thank you

I guess all the machines of boredom that are automatically connect using Intel PROSet Wireless Tools.  Simple fix.

    Go to the control panel.

Type Wireless in the search panel.

If Intel PROSet Wireless Tools is an option up until it clicks (so you can have another problem)

Under the Intel Wifi HotSpot Wizard option, click settings

Uncheck the box to automatically connect to free WiFi Hotspots.

    Click on close

    Your DONE!

Problem solved unless you do not use Intel PROSet Wireless tools.

  • After updating Firefox - can't get into anything – get errors

I received the notification that Firefox was slow, so I did a refresh. Now, I can't in my Yahoo email unless it tells me that there is an error. When I finally managed to get a photo that I sent to me not to appear. Then when I went to to connect to my work email address, which is a secure, network I could not there either. I wish I had not done a refresh now. The error is one that says that the web page is not secure.

Do you use a suite of security that filters your web traffic, for example, Kaspersky, avast!, ESET, BitDefender? After a refresh, Firefox's confidence is more 'false' certificates presented by your security software (this is necessary in order to intercept and decrypt your secure connections) and must be set up to work with her again.

Or as a quick fix, you can usually disable the scan SSL/HTTPS and only scan of unsecured connections.

Rather than posting dozens of paragraphs about particular products, could you indicate that you have?

I looked in 'view certificates' and 'validation', but I don't see anything to change or do... So, how can I accept this "new" certificate

    Thanks in advance!

    Craig

If your ISP uses self-signed certificates ask them when they intend to become a professional store. Free self-signed certificates are basically something that exists to allow analysis of configurations without fees to pay for certificates. This leaves a loophole for tight companies, generally jobs of MOM and dad, or firms, who are simply stretched to use the correct string of voting trust and pay for their certificates.

Not properly issued SSL certificates requires no acceptance, that the issuer or someone higher in the chain of trust is pre approved by Mozilla. It is extremely poor security to allow users wont accept SSL certificates and they are not experts in these things and could easily appove a certificate that makes their raw text of communication to third parties.
You are done better with unsecured connections, you're free of those signed. At least you know your vulnerable.

However, if you go to the menu Tools > options > advanced > certificates and Tower of the verify option you could do better. They are not probably set up as they sign free. Other than the view certificates and remove all those that you already have for them.

  • When Web pages contain mixed content, does (or can) Firefox block content from sources not secure?

When secure Web (those using SSL) pages contain content from sources non - SSL, Internet Explorer 8 and 9 ask if you want to show only the content that has been delivered safely. I could not find a prompt similar to Firefox. I know three possible explanations:
1 Firefox offers no protection against the mixed content. I hope that this is not the case!
2 Firefox has a setting that I have not found.
3 Firefox can offer protection but in a different way than Internet Explorer.

Firefox is not and can not block content through an unsecured connection to come in this case, but you can get a warning.

The settings for warning messages have been removed from the UI (Bug 513166).

You must change preferences related security.warn_* directly on the topic: config page.

Most of the browsers (and probably accessibility service Apple, aka the green dot) reject/warn self-signed certificates. I would go ahead and obtain a trusted certificate. StartSSL.com offers free class 1 certificates and they work fine.

Ultimately, this was fixed by removing my keychain entirely, no doubt I had a bad CA cert somewhere:

    rm - rf ~/Library/Keychains

Note This will remove all your passwords, etc., so make sure that you have everything documented (for example in a password manager), or you will lose access to your e-mail, etc..

  • Why Safari is automatically an "s" after "http"?

Safari seems to automatically insert an "s" after "http", which in fact a search for a site secured, when all I want is the precarious site "http." For many sites, I have to manually delete the s in the url. It's infuriating - and probably a setting I don't know everything, but I'm about to go to Chrome or Firefox!

One, do not download Chrome.  Google privacy issues shaded, not to mention, it's a massive RAM hog.  It consumes too many resources of your computer.  If you absolutely hate Safari, go with Firefox.  That being said, there is nothing wrong with a Web site with 'https' in the face instead of "http".  A secure connection is preferable to an unsecured connection.  I mean, you're on this site, are you not?  You should notice the padlock and the fact that "Apple Inc." with the padlock are both green.  This means that your connection to the site is encrypted.  Banks, most online retailers, as well as Twitter all use secure connections.

  • Windows cannot find any networks, but Ubuntu can! (X 32 Vista Home Premium)

I recently replaced a faulty laptop computer mother board with an identical model (only difference is a newer version of the BIOS). After restarting Windows (Vista Home Premium 32 bit) I can't find the networks wireless where I can see usually eight networks at least an unsecured connection, but now I get nothing.

I replaced the wireless card Atheros with an Intel Pro 3945ABG driver and installed the latest version and that I still get the same error "Windows cannot find any networks", I can get access to the internet via an Ethernet cable but I am unable to connect wirelessly. If I try to manually configure the wireless connection, I get "unexpected error occurred".

I started the system from a CD of Ubuntu to check that it was not a hardware problem. Wireless card perfectly, sees all the networks, connects and works very well.

It seems that something inside Vista has failed since even change the wireless adapter for a different manufacturer and the results of the modeling in the same error, pointers?
