Untangled RoboSource slow performance issues

Hi all

I'm a noob-Robo (noobie, novice, etc.) but not new computers and databases and others. We have a team of 5 authors are all working on separate projects but under even version RoboSource Control. We know some questions serious performance: projects can take over an hour to check outside or inside. not all users can see projects; "Rename" do not get rid of the old actually prefer a copy under the new name (?); etc.

I'm trying to 'normal' basic behavior for RoboSource Control as well as some best practices for multiple users. I wonder if there is something more in depth to describe the RoboSource Control engine and possibly maintenance tasks to help what seems to be a jumble of nodes that are not all necessary, too many users "admin", etc. I expect that the "cleansing" will solve many of our problems.

So, rather than go in each problem in the forum, I prefer to find the right resource and to tackle this thing by iteration.

Thanks for your useful suggestions

Don

I wanted to update the forum about this performance issue. After further investigation, we note that serving PC server worked for 6 months without interruption. In addition, she has 512 MB of RAM, but the ROBOSOURCECONTROL service consumed 350 MB of it. The rest of the system resources were probably permutation are busy. A reboot which is brightened and RSC performance is splendid - from 30 to 60 minutes, until about 15 seconds for a GET or a check-in.
We suspect there is a memory leak in CSS, but I can start a separate thread for some tips on how to identify and report a bug for this package.

Thank you all

Don

Hello. I was wondering if anyone else knows some performance issues with the HP Elitebook 8570p and Windows XP Pro - SP3.

I get a VERY slow start, general poor performance (waiting time when opening files and programs).

I asked to burn in tests that show that everything is good.

USB transfer rates are VERY slow (tried all ports of a Seagate FreeAgent USB drive, which works fine on other laptops etc.) for example a 30-minute transfer a 7gig single file of the USB HD on the desktop. Only 3 minutes to do the same on another laptop.

I think there are problems with the drivers, like Windows 7 works very well and does boot from a bootable USB.

USB transfer rate are also good when starting from a Windows boot environment.

  • iPad Pro 9.7 "slow performance on wifi

Hi all - looking for Apple's brain trust land on this one.

I recently bought the new Pro peripheral 9.7 "iPad (wifi and cellular) and have noticed a lot of slow performance when you use it on a wifi network.

I also have an iPhone 6s so decided to compare the two head to head, both on the same wifi network. Going to the same sites, YouTube, download my diary, it's okay - 6 bulbs just with speed so that the iPad Pro chugs and takes significantly longer to download exactly the same content. The old iPad Air that I used to use never had this problem. The problem doesn't seem to be the same thing with WiFi cell, just the one. It connects to the wifi network is fast blisteringply so I exclude the network being the issue. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem.

I must say im very disappointed iPad pro account $ 1300 or so I paid for it. I am strongly considering to return.

I noticed that my Toshiba laptop showing odd behavior lately. She recently began to stop himself suddenly without warning. We arrived at the point where it is a regular occurrence. I don't know what it is, if the computer is starting to show it's age, or a hardware problem, etc.. I hope that's not die because this computer begins to happen over two years. The computer knows that he was arrested not because I get the message that this was not decommissioned and how I want to start in.
I also noticed that, even though I have a core 2 processor, the computer takes awhile to start. I don't know how to improve the performance, because I regularly clean the registry and trash. I have norton 360 along with spyware blaster.

any input would be appreciated. I will post more details that are necessary.

    Hello

I m not A205 owner but on my computer Toshiba laptop, I got the same problem it stops and the reason was a higher internal CPU temperature. So I ve looked in the forum and founded an interesting article on the cleaning of a Toshiba laptop. That's why you need compressed air and you can clean without disassembly.

I have improved my Qosmio G30 126 at 4 GB of Ram, SSD 64 HDD as windows7 boot partition and 500 GB 7200 64cache HARD drive as drive HARD secondary but I have a very slow HARD drive performance when working in windows7, but when I work on a virtual machine Windows XP, the disk HARD perforemance is fine.

I've upgraded all drivers from toshiba.com for windows7 ultimate 32-bit drivers including drivers from the chipset intel but my problem is not solved. I also check all other performance issues and its OK.

The same problem exsists on my old HARD drive on Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit and Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit.

I used HD tune software to check my HARD drive it accelerates gives about 100bps in windows 7 for my SSD and it gives 285mbps (this is the actual read speed) in the machine virtual Windows XP and the actual speed is significantly different.

Please tell me what to do because I suffer from my laptop very slow and spend a lot of mony on it without more.

    Hello

To be honest it is really hard to tell why you have slow HARD drive performance but especially it s associated with a large number of programs they are running in the background. How many processes are started after Windows starts?

Also, the antivirus program may affect the performance of the computer. I would recommend using the AntiVir freeware tool and the Windows Firewall. That's enough if keep you Windows up-to-date and use a new Internet browser.

Also check the other discussions of the forum on the slow performance. You can find a lot of useful tips to improve performance. For example:
    -Defragment HARD drive
-Disable the startup programs you don't need
    -Uninstall unnecessary programs
-Run the CCleaner tool to remove old registry keys

  • Too many software - slow performance

I too installed software and had slowed performance. Just added 2 GB of RAM, and it helped. Took the computer to Best Buy for analysis and they gave me a list of about 110 programs of software that are installed. However, when I go into Add/Remove Programs, controls, some of the software on the list of Best Buy isn't on my Add/Remove list. Where can I find the software that is not in the Add/Remove Control Panel programs, but is listed as the software on my computer? Can I assume that it will be in the Explorer of Windows Defender - software? Is there a 'General' rule which should absolutely stay and not be deleted? Will I guess that if there "Dell", "Embarq" (my ISP), "Microsoft", "Windows" - I should exercise caution and not delete?

There are a lot of software listed below, but I hope someone can tell me to remove one or more of them.  Help! Can what software I remove to help my performance? Thank you!

I was doing a large rattling noise coming from the area of HD/fan from the beginning upward.  I restart about 3 times until the noise is minimal.

I get pop messages - up to Norton Internet Security leader Insight with messages such as "svchost.exe, disk write activity is 88 MB;" and "IE uses 100% CPU capacity".  I did not make anything more intense than the surf in 2-3 windows.  IE & Chrome have been gel & closing with a message of "incompatibility".  The PC often slows to the point where the internet connection is not detected.

HP told me to update my drivers and the fan from dust with a handkerchief.  When HP updated the video driver, the monitor has distorted & a system restore should be executed.

I can't guess what is causing noise & why it doesn't always.  I noticed in the Manager tasks that there is heavy use of RAM by svchost.exe (multiple incidents at the same time); Iexplore.exe; & dwm.exe.  My guess is that there is too much useless activity in RAM, the CPU & HD.

    Hi Lou Messina.

Since when are you facing this problem?

Cliqueti noise could be caused by a faulty hardware, and you might want to contact the manufacturer of the computer for assistance more specialized on this issue. To fix the performance issue, try the following steps:

Method 1: Disconnect all external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) readers, etc...) Except the mouse and keyboard > check to see if the problem persists

If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue.  Then get any drivers\software update for the device.

Method 2: You can run the fixit available in the link below and check to see if that makes a difference

Method 3: Clean boot the computer, and check to see if the problem persists

Follow step 1 in the link below,

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.

Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service.

After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

  • Performance issues with large number of nodes

I am creating an application to display graphics (large), for example:

    graph.png

But I ran into some performance issues, even for a relatively small number of nodes in the scene graph (+-2000 in the picture above). The graph is built, step by step, adding circles and paths to a StackPane. Circles and paths can be semi-transparant. For a small number of nodes, I get a solid 60 FPS, but this decreases over time to about 5 frames per second. As soon as I stop adding new nodes, the framerate shoot again up to 60 images per second. The framerate drop even when all the nodes are outside the viewport.

    My questions are:

    * Is Platform.runLater () call to 2000 times a minute too?

    * This might just be a problem with my graphics card? (I have an Intel HD Graphics 3000)
    * JavaFX pulse recorder says such things, are there meaningful information in that I'm missing?

Basically, try some optimization of performance ranging from the simple to the complex.   Each of the changes below may provide you with an increase in performance.  Some will probably increase performance much more that others (depending on where is the real bottleneck).  I would probably start by replace the paths to the lines and reduce the number of Platform.runLater calls (as adding nodes that fall within the viewport can be difficult only).

    > The framerate drop even when all the nodes are outside the viewport.

Place the nodes in the graph, which fall inside the viewport.

    > Is Platform.runLater () call to 2000 times a minute too?

Yes, there is no reason to call it more than 60 times a minute when the framerate of JavaFX is capped at 60 frames per second by default.

    > This might just be a problem with my graphics card? (I have an Intel HD Graphics 3000)

Yes, it's a graphics system relatively low-end.  But, look at the comment of developer below - your CPU and choice of graphic primitives can also affect rendering speed.

    > Adding circles and the paths to a StackPane

You don't need a StackPane to this, a group is a container easier and probably better.

    > may be semi-transparant

Remove transparency * may * cause acceleration.

    ----

    You run may be:

https://JavaFX-JIRA.Kenai.com/browse/RT-20405 : improve the rendering of path performance

Maybe if you use lines rather than the paths, performance might improve.

A comment by a developer on this performance tweak application is:

«It is quite normal for applications that use arbitrary paths (if the node path objects, SVGPath, polyline, or polygon) because these paths are rendered in software.» As card circle, Ellipse, line and Rectangle very primitive forms easily to the operations that can be performed entirely on the GPU, which makes them essentially cheap. There is no need to compare the rendering of a complicated shape for rendering of simple primitives for this reason. »

    ----

Setting the cache indicators can help, but probably only if you animate nodes.

    ----

Present level of detail of your graph functionality so a chart with zoom out is not make as many nodes as a part of zoomed in.

    ----

You run any code important calculation on the JavaFX application thread that could stall it?

Can make you available a ftom so that others can reproduce your problems?

  • Adobe Air performance issues?

I have recently finished a huge project in Adobe Muse and I love the new sensitive design tools. However, as the project continued to develop, Muse has become increasingly slow to react and interact with the sensitive cursor was almost impossible. As someone who worked for Apple, I'd be the first person to point the finger my Mac and offer to buy a new computer, but it is a new, maxed-out MacBook Pro 15 inches. All other Adobe CC applications work without problem. When Muse was first published, as I remember, it was written on top of the Adobe AIR platform, instead of being natively written in C++. That this has something to do with performance issues that I see? If so, is there something I can do to improve performance, I see?

Air is not basis for Muse more for a long time. Nativly revised muse was released in early 2014.

In my view, the Muse team works actively on performance boosts, but I think that we should not expect any miracle: no other application I know not a calculate and display real-time changing dynamically and the same objects interactively from time on endless pages in response.

In my opinion, the only way to significantly increase the speed would be gray on all goods during the move of the scrubber.

    Hello world

We build an application where we use HTML5-sensitive inside objects.

    Lars salvation,

The control of the OS used to display content on iOS is a different rendering than the OS browser technology and has different performance characteristics. In particular, it is slower on older devices, such as the iPad 2.

Based on your description my guess is that your image size is driving performance issues. Take a look at what size in pixels are your images and aggressively, re - compress. I had successful scaling of images to 50% of the size I think I need and then save them in JPEG format at a quality level of 7 (or even 5) in Photoshop.

Does anyone else know extremely slow performance after the update?  I tried all the usual items, delete the cache, reinstall etc... Last try was install on a clean system... still very slow performance.

Intermittent symptoms are: push the space bar to play - 1 or 2 second hesitation, pushing the space bar to play audio but video playback does not work, some filters is blurry, curved RGB for example take 2 ~ 4 seconds of 'kick '...

Same exact same system configuration on the previous version had no issues and was very sensitive. Also this on 2 other systems that have been updated. All Mac.  Customers are starting to notice the hesitation on the reading that is really powerful.

We tried a variety of 2.6.18 kernels EAP (including attempts with the CONFIG_HZ 100 and with a divider = 10 options). More or less consistently poor performance.

The BIOS of the host settings are:

    HyperTransport technology: HT 3

    Assist HT: enabled

    Virtualization technology: enabled

    DRAM prefetcher: enabled

Training Software Prefetch Prefetch material: enabled

    Hardware prefetcher: enabled

    Demand-based power management: disabled

We have also tried to run this comments with 1 vCPU (2.6.18 - 194.8.1.el5PAE):

The first run after a reboot:

    time pg_dumpall >/dev/null

    Real 8m1.764s

    user 0m12.649s

    sys 0m3.133s

While it works, the system fails (for example, a 'top' which should be updated every second can be updated every 7 seconds). The guest spends a lot of time in the 'system', do what we do not know.

    CPU: 17.3%us, 81.9%sy, 0.0%ni, 0.0%id, 0.0%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.8%si, 0.0%st

It takes 7 minutes on a server physics multi-core (4x2.8Ghz Xeon).

It takes 17 minutes at best (more time) on "verik" with 2 vCPUs.

We would really like to migrate our physical postgres server in VMware, but we cannot justify it doing so unless he can perform at least as well as on physical hardware. (We tried to store the database on the local disk and mounting NFS host datastore; similar performance in all cases. We also checked adequate bandwidth on our links for storage and front networks.)

We reviewed several postings on execution of the guests with more than 1 vCpu and think we understand how vSphere CPU coscheduling works. But in our scenario, without conflict of use of CPU resources, we do not know why we're having performance issues.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

    Craig

First, why OS 32-bit VMS with 16 GB of RAM?

My first and very strong suggestion is to go for the 64-bit version of CentOS, EAP is known to have poor performance. Run us multiple virtual CentOS 64-bit machines, and I can't say that we have unexplained performance issues.

You might try to twist a little bit the 32 bit existing OS, but I don't expect a big improvement. Keep this divider = 10 in your kernel parameters, but if you like to try again with simple CPU add 'nosmp noapic nolapic' kernel parameters, those can drop the percentage of time processor rdy one quite a bit, at least I saw that happen on busy ESX host. Also assign some pages of huge memory in the Linux kernel and configure PostgreSQL to use.

Your BIOS settings also appear to be inefficient, the General recommendation is to disable the CPU features on the ESX host preloading since when the CPU executes several processes (VMs) preload results in a high number of failures which is just waste of cycles CPU.

Equipment training on Software Prefetch Prefetch: disabled

    Hardware Prefetcher: disabled

But still, go for 64-bit operating system.

  • CC Dreamweaver performance issues

There are some performance issues, I wanted to implement.

    1. very slow to open new files

Particularly noticeable on Mac OS 10.9 Mavericks. I work with PHP, javascript, html, css. And they all seem to be affected. It takes more than 10 seconds with the wheel that appears just to open a single file.

2 slow down scrolling display of "files".

I have a large site with over 900 documents within multiple levels of subfolders (not including images, etc.). I realize I'm not all clients, but it seems that there could be some performance tuning done here. I have a modern Macbook Pro that should have no trouble scrolling through or even thousands of files.

    Hello Jeremy,.

Glad to hear that you do not see the shift as previously, while opening the files now.

For the 2nd edition, we have a bug connected to improve performance while scrolling of files for a large site. Bug is currently under review and analysis.

    Kind regards
