Unwanted accessibility icons (seen normally by pressing the Alt key) keep appearing

My work OS computer has been recently upgraded to Windows 7 with XP, and while I like the interface a whole lot, I have a problem with the icons of accessibility that appears very frequently, for example in Word, the tabs on the Ribbon menu, and the icons on the bar tools quick access, but also in other programs.

I have reviewed and unchecked all accessibility features, but the icons reappear.  They appear and then disappear even if I'm not touching the keyboard or the mouse.  When I type, it forces me to hit ESC every a few keystrokes.  I thought it was a faulty keyboard, which had not been replaced over the years, but even with a new MS replacement keyboard out of the box, it is always the case.

Please help, but solutions that require adjustments of the registry or that will not help, because the administrative control over these PC is tight, and I doubt that if a registry would be even considered by the LATTER.  I'm sure in my exploration of the features of the operating system, I inadvertently caused myself.

Thank you very much for reading and for any help you can offer.

  • System standby by pressing the Alt key

Original title: key Alt = weird sleep problem

Well, I just built a new system with windows 7 64 bit and am having a problem with my ALT.  Whenever I press the ALT (alone or in combination with another key), the system goes into sleep mode.  The system shuts down as usual, but when the system wakes from sleep there is no video signal from the monitor and it remains empty.  I have to disconnect the system from the wall outlet and wait a few minutes before starting it up normally.  I tried to google some answers and look around here a bit but have not found the answers.  He is a first generation of time for me and it's the only issue.  I hope it's just a simple setting, but I am new to windows 7 and am not able to find a solution.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Hi Fuzzylunkin,

    1. you are using a laptop or desktop?

    2. who is the manufacturer and what is the model number of the system?

    Step 1:

If you use a laptop, check if the FN key is enabled. If so, then try totoggle to OFF.

    Step 2:

If you are using a desktop computer, try to download the latest driver for the keyboard updates and check.

    Step 3:

You can also try to change the keyboard on the screen and check if the problem persists when you use the ALT key.

  • In Windows 7, how "to hide the letters highlighted for the keyboard navigation until I press the Alt key" (as in XP)?

My underlined letters are all the time in menus and dialog boxes, and I want to disable them.

The first thing I did was go to control panel, accessibility, making the keyboard easy to use, to turn off underline keyboard shortcuts and access keys - but it is already off.

So how do you disable these underscores in Windows 7?

    Hello Dmbyrnes,

I understand that you may be eager to hide the menu bar.  Attached, are steps that can be beneficial in addressing you request...

    (1) first Rt click on the bottom of the menu and uncheck lock the toolbars. Then click on organize > layout > menu bar make sure is unaudited.

From there you should be able to hit the Alt key and the Bar Menu to repopulate.  If you please you would follow with me at your convenience, I would be very happy.

    Thank you

  • Wacom Zoom ring menus procs as if I was pressing the ALT key

    I use Photoshop CS6 and I have a problem.

I have a Wacom Intuos 5 little pro, and when I use the touch ring to zoom in and out of the canvas, as this action is considered [alt + Roulette], when I stop zooming in and out photoshop always records the action as if I pressed alt, then when I press the letter B to return to the brush, this procs of the EDIT to open menu.

Is there a way to change settings to make the thing as [alt + Roulette] zoom? I already looked in the Wacom preferences, but the problem is not there, like the zoom is [alt + Roulette] by default within Photoshop.

    Thanks in advance.

Nevermind that I fixed it myself.

  • FMR problem by using the Alt key

I'm a recording of moving images of a software application screenshot. To perform certain functions in this application, I need to hold down the ALT key. However, when I do that, the screen and freezes the TMF. Finally it thaws and I can continue with the recording, but it is very discruptive for recording and the gel causes me to make mistakes.

I checked the shortcut keys in Captivate and none of them use the ALT key, so there seems to be a conflict of shortcut keys.

    Would appreciate any suggestions.

    Hi Jay

You are right. The problem occurs when recording of Illustrator (and probably with other CS5 products as well). At the time when you press the ALT key, mouse 'freezes' for a while and then comes back to life. I'm unable to offer no work around for this right now. After registration, the TMF can be changed by using the Publisher of FMR inside Captivate. You can select the part of the film where the mice froze and then delete. Please check if it works for you.
