  • How can I keep the HP Update popup come on the desktop?

I recently reinstalled printer all-in-one Photosmart C5240.  After an update, the HP Update popup on my desktop will not close.  I am running Vista.  Stop and restart will not solve this problem.  Currency manager only shows not running and not responing.  How can I keep it popping up all together?

    Hello

Click on the Menu start, open the all programs, open HP and click on update to HP - you should see a settings button in the lower part, click on this button and change the frequency of checking of updates (choose never if you prefer to manually control), then click on apply to save the setting.  Restart the PC to check that this prevented the pop-up.

  • After upgrade to Vista, the desktop Setup does not save, but he returned each time unwanted installation

My computer (laptop) did an automatic update of Vista. Since the restart, he lost all cookies, and all applications have behaved as if they were never used.  The files are OK. I had to reset the desktop resolution because it came with something too big. But it does not save the installation program, every time that the computer starts again (even after having his sleep), the office returns in a default setting that I don't like.  Why didn't he save properly?  I have to back to the resolution I love every time. The aspect ratio of the sidebar is also evil in this default value. The clock appears as an oval, for example. I must go to the video driver every time, set the desktop resolution seems correct.  In addition, the sidebar doesn't seem to have an option to display seamlessly, but is a big silver margin is too large for my taste.
My office was working great before the upgrade, now he isn't very good at all.  How can I fix it so it will stay the way I like it?

Thank you very much for your answer.  I solved this problem.  He has been
caused by the last windows update. I think that the file was KB2524375. I have
uninstalled and everything is back to normal. The windows update (which
says he has been recommended by Microsoft) completely changes the configuration, disable
Aero, etc. so changes can not be made.
There is no error message, it was as if he superimposed a very primitive
version of windows. Of course, I do not recommend this update.
Anyway, it's fixed and I'm so happy!

    Thank you!

    1. do you have the question started recently?

    2. do you get any error code or error message while starting?

    3. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it works for you.

    Method 1:

To remove the desktop folder, start safe mode and then try to delete the folder prom there. In Safe Mode, none of the third-party program/APP or virus cannot block the delete task.

Step 1: start in safe mode.

How to work with files and folders:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/files-folders-Windows-Explorer

Note: refer to the section 'create or delete files'.

    Method 2:

Run Microsoft Safety Scanner and check if there is any threat of viruses found.

    Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. During these 10 days, it will remove all the files infected by the virus and records. I suggest you create a backup of your data, and then install Microsoft Safety Scanner.

Please reply with the status of the issue, so that we can better help you.

  • How to get an icon on the Desktop Web. I have windows 7 and 8 on different computers.

I asked this question repeatedly in stores and friends and tells me that it is possible by clicking on the web address, however, it would seem that Firefox does not happen because I was only able to do so far. I used to be able to do it on Xp but now find it impossible. I use this facility to allow me to access a web page immediately instead of having to go through the search or a bookmark. I'm having the same problem with windows 8 on a different machine.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I am a user of Tor Browser, and I love the interface of Firefox. According to my page, my Firefox browser is up-to-date. But for some reason I can't save shortcuts to office for a Web site. Whenever I drag the icon beside a Web site (variously a glob, a green bolt and other icons), I get a mouse icon of denial no matter where I try to put the web shortcut on the desktop. This happens even when I drag the bookmarks of my bookmark bar! My guess is that something is blocked in Tor allowing no shortcuts settings. Any suggestions on where the parameters of the shortcuts are in Firefox?

Fred, all other modules worked well. I contacted the people of Tor, and they were unsure of what's going on. I've pasted their response below, but the short answer is that they have me just save shortcuts manually from the office whenever the Tor Button is active. Thanks for your help, you've been great!

  • How to stop the slide show to start automatically on the desktop

On my Windows 7, my graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 310. Within the last week, with the inactive computer on the desktop, all of a sudden a slideshow will begin watch the images located in the directory "my images". I've never set up something like this. Desktop/Customize, I have a slide show of some of the landscapes on the Aero themes. I have only 5 of these verified and they continue to change the blades at 5 minute intervals. However, this unwanted 'My images' slideshow takes over and begins to play. How can I prevent that from happening. Thank you

I forgot to mention that when I open the NVIDIA card (that I'm here and I never went forward), everything is not checked.

I think I can find the answer, but I don't know to see you for a few days if the problem still exists. When I went to customize, I found that there are 2 themes, one save and the other unregistered. By clicking on one of them, the drop-down arrow showed a directory called "Image library" which, once opened was the "My pictures" directory that had the same pictures that have been popping up. In addition, everyone had a check mark on it. I clicked on 'Clear all' / register and liquidated. Then I went to the theme and deleted. At least for a day, I have no pop ups that occur.

There is always a strange thing is happening. When I deleted the theme which was the directory of the images as a choice library, the only theme on the left on the screen was a "unsaved theme".  I couldn't delete it. It seems to be OK since the only slide show which continues to work is that I chose the default categories with 6 audited slides. However, if I click on the 'wallpaper' in the lower left corner of the screen, the screen opens showing all categories with my slides selected audited. At the top of the page, there is a drop-down list "image location". These are several places, including "photo library". When I clicked on it, once again, 'My pictures' folder open and all images have a checkmark on them again. I do not understand why they have been checked since I did a 'clear all' earlier and saved. I don't think that having checked them are bad something, but I don't understand why they are checked when I've previously saved in a State as non-verified. This is another example of why Windows 7 is so bad. All should be disabled until the user decides what he or she wants.
