• How can I test updates to a folio in a multi-folio without affecting the direct application?

  Earlier this year, we have created a multi-folio for a client application and it is available in the app store. We are working on the updating of a folio in the multi folio and have difficulties to test updates before they go live.

  We have transferred the files through Folio Builder under the same ID as the original folio was built. According to ng.html https://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/kb/errors-incomplete-publishing-or-updati (Solution 2), we have updated the folio in Folio Producer with the status of soldier to test the updates before going live. A private time has been selected, the folio direct since the app store was removed from our iPad and was no longer available for download. Once we went into producer Folio and changed from private to public, it instantly shows up on our iPad.

  Once the revised files are uploaded through Folio Builder, we can connect to Adobe Content Viewer to review updates but the content viewer is not always a perfect finished product representation (ex: videos).

  My question is: How can I test updates to a folio in a multi-folio without affecting the direct application?

  We have an application multi-folio as well and we test in the Adobe Content Viewer application. You can either sign with your publishing Adobe ID and it will appear or share the folio in InDesign with a different Adobe ID if you prefer.

• Audio streaming on the entire folio

  We have a customer who is interested in the creation of a 'radio' function, where we would have audio stream through the entire folio. The desired effect would be that audio play continuously and without interruption on each page of each article.

  I know that there is a way to read a local audio file across the entire folio. We have already tested which and it should work perfectly, but the customer would like the audio streaming on the internet because we cannot have the rights to incorporate audio files.

  Do you know if there is a provision to do something like that Adobe DPS? We heard that it might be possible using a set more like managers of browser, but I was unable to find any documentation about it.

  iPad only.

  We do not support creation of audio and video streams using the DPS, creative tools for the moment. There is no way to do it with an overlay of web as the overlay will get deleted from memory once that your player moves to another article.

• cc of InDesign requires an update on the folio generator

  I tried to remove the AAMUPDATER as advised, but this only created a new problem.  Folio Builder always requires an update, but now, none are available.

  I was really excited to try the ipad for our magazine and a bit disgusted app generator I can't even begin.

• Updated versions app & folios... for Dummies.

  Looing for a quick flow of the process to update the version of your application. Because I'm about to do this process for the first time.

  I already have 2 folios approved and in the iTunes store with my pro account. They are two folios v24 and it's a v24 app.

  I know that if I want to update the v24 to v25 app I need to submitt so for Apple. Should I submit an update or a new application or makes no difference?

  I also need to recreate two folios already released (in the details of the app) and save them as a v25 and submit them as well?  Or folios can stay v24 and the app can be v25 to the next issue when its ready to produce?

  Is there a reason you want to update your app to v24 to v25? Most publishers don't update their applications with each new version. They wait until there is a convincing feature, such as nested overlays or newsstand. There is nothing wrong with the update of the app and v25 has a new library and a few new features of download. I just wanted to point out that it is not necessary to update your application with each new version.

  You don't need to update your folios v25. With some versions, it is a good idea to upgrade to the latest version to take advantage of the new features the folios, but v25 has only a single function which requires a version v25 (the business function to display the conditional HTML content). The v25 Viewer reads all the previous versions of the Viewer. You will never need to submit again that app buying Apple, even if you do not update the folios. Brand new.

  To update the application, you connect to DPS App Builder, select the existing application and click on modify. (It is sometimes a problem for editing apps to update the version, but these downturns have been developed). Select v25 and then just click through the windows, change settings, where you must. You'll want to use the same mobileprovision files (or later, when they expire, mobileprovision file based on the same AppID) and certificates.

  Download and test the app dev. If it works ok, download the .zip distribution file. Go to iTunes Connect and indicate that you want to add a version of your existing application. Then use the application loader. The steps are in the companion publishing guide.

• Update an entire column

  So I will try to update a single value in a couple hundred thousand lines (but not all) in a table, it is just to add 'BLANK_' to the front of the string. As I previously used a SQL statement to generate and then all of the thousands of lines of SQL that does the actual update. but who is slowed by the need to update the screen of the computer running the SQL dev and signals the constant back and forth between SQL dev and the server, for each line of SQL code. So I think if I can get it all in a single batch of SQL, it works a hell of a lot faster.

  I tried to look for how to work the loops but I keep running into examples that do not seem to work for me. It is, what types of 5 or so different from SQL? so it's quite annoying trying to look it up, here then ask me instead.

  I had complex SQL code crazy to come from one of the guys our dev Department, which works fine, but try to understand the functioning of the loops looking at it... It's just black haha magic

  I saw a lot of solutions related to the use of a cursor or by using a temporary table. That's what I've tinkered, but it does not work because I think it is a different type of SQL

  Change the '=' on a 'IN' on your WHERE clause.

• Update the articles in a publication folio/app

  I am updating articles (in INDD CC 2014) in a Folio that is currently in the app store. I hit "update" in the dialog box for the article in folio builder Panel, and I get this message "an error has occurred. in updating the provisions of article Cannot find the file InDesign for page layout. Please, recreate a link to the article to the required source files. ». My instinct is to delete the existing article and add article. Will this foul existing application?

  (Customer will update to the dashboard when it is ready, not me.)

• previously published folio update

  I'm not very sure, the update already published folios. Yes, I know, there is a button to update Produser Folio DPS

  But if I download folio to my user account, and then share it to acount of application for distribution? Consideration of the application, I copy my already shared folio and publish it.

  Then you can share folio corrected to the application ID and copy corrected article published folio (make sure you have deleted former article which is without corrections). Then update folio in the producer of folio.

• Folios not updated

  Folios don't seem to be updated on my Android device.
  Content is updated In-design, and I can see the items update in the Folio Editor (the line browser).

  But no updates appear on the Adobe content viewer (Android), signed to / restarted the device.

  My folio contains 17 articles it contains, is there a limit to how many items you can have in a folio? folio size is around 100 MB.

  Any help please, I have clients waiting to view the update.

  you don't need to remove it in folio Builder only in the app Builder.

  Add icons of stuff etc. u must have it all in the right hand and then you just press upload.

  -If a folio is downloaded by a user, it obviously reflected in the download included/purchased package together folio

  -If a sheet is deleted, but then redownloaded by this same user it always factored into the download included/purchased package together folio

  But if an update to a folio is removed for users who have already downloaded this folio, the fact that the partial download for updates of this folio already exisitng County device of the user as a new "single download"? In other words, a download incurs no each time that the Adobe servers are accessible by a device?

  Update folios downloads do not count against the download bundle.

• Question about the Folio Builder update September 17

  I was intending to assemble and export an application of development this weekend, but I see a folio builder panel update scheduled for next Monday, 17 September. Is this OK for me mount and export a .folio this weekend or should I hold off until after the update from Monday? (IE debugs it in Monday update will apply to folios that already exist in the generator of folio?)

  The update updates the Builder Folio Panel only. This does not affect the tools of creation and therefore does not change which version of the Viewer is necessary. Version which updates the tools of creation has not yet been published. (v.16 is the latest version of the authoring tools)

  You must update the Panel Builder Folio to continue to use (there is no way around it).

  "Folio producer tools" will update the authoring tools and requires an update for the viewer of content on the back-end. The most recent version of the authoring tools is v.16.

  "Folio only generator Panel" will update only the Panel Folio Builder itself and requires no updates of the content viewer.
