  • Update E530

Before you buy a new E530, I want to assure you that specific things can be upgraded.

First of all, I want to make sure I can get a mini dual band PCI-E card. I know there is a list somewhere, but I don't know where he is and you want to use a wireless adapter that people have had experience with anyway, so I figure I might as well just ask.

Second, I need to make sure that I can move the battery to a 9 cells after purchase. I know that you can not buy it with a 9 cell, but I would like to be able to upgrade to one.

You can get the 9 cell battery. The 9-cell on the T420 and T520 would work on the E520 and ThinkPad E530.

No option of double band for the wireless.

Sorry for these questions, updates team still working on getting all the updates that are released for new systems like X 230...

    Bluetooth must be here today.

I do not recommend installation RapidBoot shield unless you have personally tested and determined that it makes your boot faster image and does not cause side effects.

Intel USB 3.0 has addictive bad RapidBoot shield, the team working on the removal of the dependence.  If you use ThinInstaller, you can find a way to remove the dependency from the XML yourself.

  • Lenovo ThinkPad RapidBoot software for Windows 8

    Hi guys,.

Where this can be downloaded? So far, I found RapidBoot shield for Windows 7 (g2rb10ww_64.exe) and RapidBoot HA (rapidboot_webrelease.exe). But they are for Windows 7 (in fact, one does not at all in Windows 8).

They are not displayed in the S430 software page.

    Thank you...

According to someotherguy in this thread , there is no RapidBoot for Windows 8, sorry.

  • Updates every time I stop.

Daily for 9 days, when it's time to stop, I allow to install a windows update.  And then it takes about 12 to 15 minutes until that ends, all on the screen that says "do not turn off or unplug your computer.

I'm running Windows 7 32-bit Home Edition.  According to the center of my action, there is currently no updates to install, but I assume that as soon as I stopped once again today, they tried to install another update (with a shield icon yellow of small windows on the button closure).

Why can I not get new upates daily, if not twice a day?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

Probably most of those which are updates which are stuck in repetition.

guess that part of the question could be a driver which is really old or similar should not be loaded.

This exit Windows updates on (after you have access) and stop the updates of the driver to load.

    Hello

Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
    Method 1:
You can try to start the fix - it and check. Check out the following link.
The problem with Microsoft Windows Update is not working
    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_update/

    Method 2:

You can read the following article.
Cannot install updates in Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2
Note: this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base. How to back up and restore the registry in Windows:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/back-up-the-registry

Note: If bad sectors are detected when running check disk utility and attempt recovery of bad sectors is verified during the verification of the drive for errors, data in the bad sector can be lost as they tried to recover bad sectors.

    Method 3:

I also suggest that you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.
The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: the Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Important: When performing analysis on the hard drive if bad sectors are found on the hard drive when parsing tent repair this sector if all available on which data can be lost.

  • install windows 8 on problem t430

    Hello

I am trying to install windows 8 the wizard of upgrade of windows 8, but I encountered a problem, at some point in the Setup, I get a screen "what needs your attention" and that I have to uninstall some programs that are not compatible with windows 8, one of them is "rapidboot shield" but when I try to uninstall I get the following message:

Network 1316.A error error occurred trying to read the file C:\windows\installer\rapidboot.msi

due to this I need to manually select a folder that contains the file PHCORE.sys and look in the default folder is C:\program files\lenovo\rapidboot, I opened the folder and you can find PHCORE64.sys but when I select the file it does not, someone can help me with this?

I've had it fixed on mine, what I have is the following, I watched the program of shield rapidboot on lenovo & software drivers: the site and I installed the 32 bit version, just to remove it after the installation is complete, and this way I don't have an error, so I hope this can be useful for anyone running into the same problem!

  • XP - cannot install KB976323

I have that happen on six different (so far) computers with a XP Home or Pro and installed SP3.  Here's what happens:

I run Windows update (or click on the shield in the system tray) and it shows kb976323.  I install it, it says it installed, and I reboot.  To restart, Windows manual update or the shield shows uninstalled kb976323.  I went to the \windows\$ntuninstallkb976323$\spuninst folder and uninstalled, then manually downloaded and reinstalled (both in normal mode and safe), but the update continues to view as needing to be reinstalled.  How can I fix it?

    Thank you

    T

WYSIWYG, I'm afraid. I have found your support options in my previous answer.

That being said, I want to clarify that KB976323 is an Important for WinXP (not critical) security update and it is highly unlikely that you you are hosting an SMTP server on all Windows XP-based computers. Use this information as you see fit in your particular environment.

  • X 230 and problem of f-secure

Try to install f-secure on a new Win 7-64 running 230 X. The TP comes pre-loaded with Norton anti-virus. It took off with the Windows 7 uninstall, then the last remnants with the Norton Removal Tool. F secure installs successfully and works OK after installation, but on a start or restart of the application of computer security f-secure does not start. No matter how many restarts always get the same result. Unistalling/reinstalling of f-secure does not help. In addition, Windows reports that the firewall and anti-virus protection is disabled. • Access user (UAC) shield appears on a large number of my programs now after Windows Update download and cause problems with some programs, no one knows how to fix this? (Windows 7) (Windows Update post a coupe of weeks)

    Hello

Windows Update recently made a lot of downloads on my computer about two weeks ago (I run it automatically and it works usually weekly) and he has made some changes to my system that create errors or difficulties with certain programs. The shield of the UAC is now appearing on many more programs for some reason any and now I'm a guest whenever a program is available. which is also appear on my AntiVirus program. Action Center flag appears almost every day now with warnings saying that my AntiVirus program and spyware is off (not sure if this is related to the UAC shield), but when I check my AntiVirus program everything works and after access; the flag of the Action Center shows while all right. Nobody knows how to solve this problem and get rid of the ecu of the UAC on programs (or at least some of them I want to be invited on)? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I'm sure I've upgraded to Vista SP2, but not absolute, I can't find a lot of information in the case of the newspapers with the service pack level... only vista combined with some process is perceptible. I bought July ' 09 new and it came pre-installed with Vista on it. I think this is the tool I used to remove McAfee on this; It also came with Norton as an alternative option and both have been removed using their tools to uninstall BitDefender installation instructions walked me through the location and the removal of two of them before installing BitDefender on the computer. My user account is configured as an administrator, but when I right click on programs with the shield of the UAC on them, I'm not running as an administrator. The UAC slider is set at the 2nd ranked (by default); but I do not know how it was listed previous, I wondered about moving down one notch (but he advises not and I don't want to spoil anything).

  • KB955759 does not appear when I check the updates manually, but it appears with the yellow shield after you have enabled the automatic updates.

original title: Windows Update acts confused - kb955759 does not appear when I check the updates manually, but it appears with the yellow shield after you have enabled the automatic updates.

I just reset my CMOS settings, writing zeros for my hard drive, repartitioned, reformatted and used the recovery cd Gateway system to get my computer to Windows 98se - factory settings, except at the beginning of the recovery of the system, when it says "press any key for advanced options," I pressed a key and then I unchecked all the default (3rd party) applications including Norton and left only 2 checked: "Updated USB Hub" and "Windows Shutdown Supplement," while nothing has been installed, leaving only win98.

Then I used my disc XP Home (SP2) update.  I, immediately after the upgrade to Windows XP, installed "Office XP with Frontpage, Developer Edition", then Norton 2012 before never connect to the internet.
Then, I connected to the internet and continuously update of Norton, before ever hitting the Windows Update page. The first thing I did then was to activate Windows, and then activate the office.
Then I hit the update of Windows "button" that says "get all your updates in one place... upgraded"Microsoft Update".  I, then, just kept hitting the page update and restart, until I find the SP3.  Then, I took a break, until the next day.

I have an ADSL broadband, with a Linksys EtherFast PCI card.

Then I got SP3, which installed without any problems.
So I just kept "microsoft continuous update" manually (and reboot), until there is no more updates - EXCEPT, I always uncheck Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - which was the only screening at the final stop for the night.  I think that I ticked the box "don't ask me about this update".

Then, in the morning, after you have enabled automatic updates, I noticed the yellow shield - Windows security icon (or whatever it's called), so I clicked on it and checked it was tellimg me was available [when I checked "Custom Install (advanced users)"].  What showed was 1 update - 955759 KB.

After the problem, already at the reformat (months and months), see the yellow shield telling me there are updates available, which were already installed (before rebooting), I checked manually on the internet with IE 8, pressing alt, "T", "U".  There is no updated list.  Then I checked through my history of update (twice), and KB955759 had not been installed.

My update setting is to let windows download ('important') updates, but let me choose when to install them.

What is the right - Windows Update (NO update important reporting) Site, or the yellow shield (reports [a] kb955759 [update])?

I can not yet confirm he is supposed to be an update for XP home kb955759, because I was unable to locate any detailed documentation on this 'thing' that protect the yellow safety seems to think is a significant update.

Just for the heck of it, I have disabled the automatic updates, cleared my browser cache, checked manually, updates from microsoft (windows) and found none (with the exception of software malware removal tool windows [which I have not installed]).  Then, I turned the automatic updates on, and without even being connected to the internet, the yellow shield popped up with the kb955759 "update"...

    Repost...

    1. If you open Internet Explore (only!) to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and run a CUSTOM scan, KB955759 appears in results?... If so, you manage to install it and/or security updates available?

2 after no. 1 above [<>], is the 'yellow shield' icon appears in the Notification area (on the left of your clock)?  .. and if yes, by clicking on the 'yellow shield' icon tells you that KB955759 or any other updates is ready-to-be-installed?  .. .and if so, you manage to install it?

3 after doing 1 # & #2 above [<>], is KB955759 or any other updates offered as a ready-to-install update when you go off your computer?  .. .and if so, you manage to install it?

... I guess that clearing the browser cache does not erase 'downloaded' updates.

Nope. If you want to clear the queue of the update...

    OPTION A:

    1. stop the automatic updates service:

    Start > run > (type or copy/paste) services.msc > click OK
Double-click automatic updates > click stop
(Stopping the service will take a moment)

2 remove the contents of the download folder:

    Start > run > (type or copy/paste) %windir%\SoftwareDistribution > click OK

Open the download folder and delete its content
    Close the window.

    3. start the automatic updates service:

    Start > run > (type or copy/paste) services.msc > click OK
Double-click automatic updates > click Start
(Starting the service will take a moment)

    OPTION B:

    1. open Internet Explorer (only!) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910336 [don't know the titles, etc..]

    2. make disappear/close the Troubleshooter automatically pop up.

Does anyone know how to determine if software mailicious removal tool is installed on XP? [source ]

I guess I'll have to leave "auto-update" (I often have less than 65 M of free memory left and do not have enough memory to msrt) and don't assume no other current error. [source; 17 Aug-11]

It's no wonder that you ended up having to do a clean install of Win98SE & then upgrade to Windows XP again!

I installed KB263380 KB2572073 and KB2518864 three times with success; However, I get the yellow shield saying that I need to update to Windows XP

I ran the Mr Fixit for this problem, and briefly, the yellow shield disappeared, I thought that it worked.  But as soon as I clicked the solution worked and Mr. Fixit was gone, the yellow shield came back and said that I have to update these once again.

Thanks for the article.  The icon stopped appearing after the third time I've updated from Windows.  Someone must have solved the problem to Microsoft.  I did nothing except reboot several times.  Finally, the Update icon went in itself.

    When you disable Antivirus:

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
