Update IE KB978207 - Bootmgr is missing error

Hello
One of our machines KB978207 update IE was installed causing a problem at the start to the top: "Bootmgr is missing". Tried using the Vista CD to repair the installation, but the DVD player could no longer be read clearly visible in the bios. After some time, we finally got it to work. We were able to start from the DVD drive and ran the repair of Vista twice, which incidentally reported no problem found with the system files. It's the only update that has been installed on the day. I need to understand why this would cause the problem, I am afraid that our other PC will experience the same issue.
Thank you.

I recently received a set of 32 Bit System Recovery DVD to HP for a Pavilion dv9700(t Turion).  My laptop has an AMD Turion 64 X 2 64-bit processor.   I studied this processor, and it is 64-bit.

The 32 Bit system recovery DVD load and work correctly in a 64-bit machine platform?  Recovering the system fails to operate to the end.  The hard drive has been thoroughly tested and has no problem

    Any help is appreciated.

I solved this problem, that so many other people have trouble with. The HP System Recovery worked great until the 'FBI GUI Manager' performed the installation of other software. So, on my 4th attempt at recovery, I close the "FBI Manager GUI ' killing the two files found in the Task Manager processes." I finished then tweak all the drivers. Now, everything is perfect and reliable operation, after 4 + restarts.

  • BOOTMGR is missing message on Satellite A205-S5812

Well, I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A205-S5812 and is having some problems.
Whenever I turn it on I get a black screen with the words bootmgr is missing.

Is there a way to fix this?
I've looked everywhere and I can't seem to understand. I can access the command prompt via the cd to repair, but it does not recognize drive c:...
So I looked around and realized that I have a drive X: with 31.3 MB of free space of 33.7 MB.
I have Windows Vista, so if anyone can help, I love you!

Also, for some reason I can't do startup repair in the system recovery options.

When I did the Startup Repair he said that he could not repair this computer automatically.
So I clicked on view problem details, and that's what they were.

    Hello

The bootmgr is missing + error because s Vista Boot Manager is found on the HARD disk.
The boot manager could be a shame because of a few problems with your HARD disk.
The part of the error message reads:
    > Problem Signature 06: BadDisk

It is clear that there is a BadDisk and that's why I come to the conclusion that your HARD drive should malfunctions.

I found your other thread that describes a problem of HARD drive:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/message.jspa?MessageID=141608

Well, I think you need to replace the HARD drive and then must use the Toshiba Recovery disk to reinstall the operating system.

    Good bye

  • Recovery of the FAILED system now BOOTMGR is missing

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion DV6-2155dx with win 7 Home premium
I started having problems with my system and had to retrieve it, but the recovery of the system has failed again and again with the error 0xC0000225. Finally, I found in one of the forums that system recovery partition has not started because somewhere, probably after that I did the new partition, my records have been converted basic dynamic. I had to buy online for $ 30 software back to basic disks, and finally, the recovery partition has been recognized. I chose the option of recovering your system back to the State factory, but after the process started, if failure after only 1% of the process, telling me that the computer cannot be retrieved for the image is missing or something like that, I don't remember the exact message. I said 'ok' and the computer restarted, now I get a MSG "BOOTMGR is missing" using the recovery disk, I tried Chkdsk, but then I realized that the disk is GONE.

Now, what can I do to access the recovery partition?

I also try to download an iso of windows 7 that I found a link to here on the forum (to fix the "bootmgr is missing" error) (http://www.mydigitallife.info/download-windows-7-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit-direct-download-link... but the problem is on the thumbnail activition key below my computer is clearly more and was half-earased.)

My serial no is [personal information deleted]
    My product is WA781UA #ABA

Parts of the activation key, that I CAN see is [deleted personal information]

can you please tell me what was my original activation key, or on the contrary - how can I fix my laptop? I've been around this week! Lose hundreds of hours of work!

Resolved - I called Microsoft and sent them a photo of the sticker + computer details, and they sent me a new activation key.

  • BOOTMGR is missing & C:\RM\Image\Tempbase.WIM missing

This is a repost of what I put on a thread of someone else started.  I need a solution as soon as POSSIBLE.

    ________________________________________________________________________________

Well, I'm not theresamauser, but I'm having the same problem.  To put it in simpler terms, I'm trying to fix a laptop of HP G71-449WM here.  The operating system has completely disappeared and when I put in the recovery discs (issued by HP) I get no option of language or layout or whatever it is, it gives me a warning about erasing the whole disc to reinstall Windows.  I follow the steps from there.  He comes at the point of the 3 notches.  (1) reformat the Windows hard disk partition. (Finishes No Problem) 2) copy the files needed to restore the hard disk.  (arrive à 80 % puis a besoin dele de disque 2, après disc2 qu'une partie deles de finitions) then part 3) restoration of files on the hard drive.     Once completed, part 2, before she begins the third part, it gives the error message "C:\RM\Image\tempbase.wim not found".  At that time, recovery stops and the only option is to click OK.  Nothing else happens after that and I cannot to a hard stop now pressed the power button.  On the next startup, it shows the recovery of the return page behaves as if windows installed successfully and tells me to restart.  So, I reboot, and the said THAT BOOTMGR is missing.  I tried using bootsect.exe to restore the BOOTMGR (that I had to get out because it is not on the recovery disc) and no luck.  Sometimes, it is as if it will work, but only if there is no other files on the hard drive.  I never get all the options to select computer repair, startup repair, all the options either.  Just wipe, reinstall, error, reboot, error... and then start pulling hair.  That's why I hate pieces exclusive _ like HP, Dell and all their loved ones.  I had much rather stick Custom builds with full-on records of Windows instead of the junk with their logos all over them.

    Hello

I am using Toshiba Satellite M300 loaded with Win Vista 32 bit form three last year, but today, when I take my laptop from sleep mode, take a lot of time to resume and then hanged. So, I decided to put it off and start it again. On the Welcome screen. It displays the message "The operating system not found" and also began a sound whenever I press any key.

Then I inserted win Vista DVD for system recovery and it does well and confirm to reboot the computer. Turning it back on, it still shows the same message. I repeated this action 3 times and got the same message. I generally save my data on an external hard drive that I decided to delete all data on the thought of portable hard drive of some viruses has blocked the operating system back if I use AVG 2011 to protect my local data.
Finally, after a few hours of the deletion of all data on the drive and I finally again restart the laptop with another error message, but this time, it is "BOOTMGR is missing" and that little gob smacking me. I think I've also cleaned the win vista my drive or not... but I confused now and looking for suggestions to move me to the right path.

305 error refers to a failing hard drive. You will need to replace the hard drive.

You can check the status of your warranty here.

If you do not want to repair the laptop you need to contact HP support. If you are in the United States / Canada you can give them a call at 1-800-474-6836. For other countries you will need to visit this site.

  • Satellite Pro C650 - BOOTMGR is missing

    Hey guys,.

I bought this laptop about a week ago, and he's already giving me grief.

First, it started with BSOD nonstop with various errors, for example driver_irql_less_or_not_equal and system_service_exception being the most repeated of the two.

I've updated all the drivers, I have between the BSOD - but gave up and decided to just a new reinstall due to not having anything important saved on the HARD drive at the moment.

Install went fine - until just before that initial installation was complete - BSOD happens again with a BIOS error this time.

After the reboot of the machine - I get BOOTMGR is missing, press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to restart.

Restart, brings you to an endless loop.

Entered boot options and booted from the CD player with the recovery disk, when the windows startup repair claims the problem is resolved and the machine will reboot.

Once it restarted (AGAIN) I always get that BOOTMGR is missing, press CTRL + ALT + DEL to restart error.

The start I tried again - CD player, but it stalls three quarters the way through.

I am literally pulling my hair out frustrated now - any ideas what I can do from here?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

In my logic one step for you opinion is clean OS installation again.

Please make and wait until the installation of the OS will be complete. Configure the operating system and try to use it for awhile without installing any additional software. Install Microsoft updates only. Please disable the automatic installation of update and choose the option check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them.

When the updates are available to install important updates only. Do not install the optional updates, especially not driver updates.

Please send any comments that you did exactly.

  • Satellite L510 - BOOTMGR is missing

    * sigh *.

So I got my password solved error and managed to get on the Vista desktop for the first time.
Well, he ran incredibly slow (like 45 minutes at startup). So I think that maybe something is corrupted so maybe I should just go ahead and reinstall everything from scratch.

So, I hold the F8 key at startup, go into System Recovery Options and choose to do a restore complete system, back to the factory settings.
2 minutes, I get an application error. The app makes me restart.

Now I'm stuck with "BOOTMGR is missing" A + C + D to turn it back on to get to the same point.

All I can find online is advice to enter the Installation of Vista disc. But I don't have one of those, I?

    * sigh *.

This whole process would have been a million times easier if Toshiba had indeed issued an installation with the system disk.

Anyone know how to get into WinRE on a Toshiba Sattelite?

    Hello

You didn t get the Vista disc and the Toshiba recovery disc.
Your laptop has been pre-installed with the Vista operating system and there was an option that allows you to recovery unit using the option of HARD drive recovery
There was also a preinstalled tool called creator Toshiba recovery disc.
This tool could be used to create a clean recovery disk.

But the fact is that if you want to repair the Vista Boot Manager, so you should use ONLY the MS Vista original disc and not the recovery disc.
MS Vista disc would repair the Boot Manager and the recovery disk would be to format the whole HARD drive and reinstall everything again

    That's the big difference.
