This automatic update not can not install. Have tried the MS fix but without success

    Hi hypnojohn,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft Communities. The problem description, I understand that you are not able to install the update to Windows. Provide the following information:

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         You are able to install other updates successfully?

    ·         You get the error message?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2: Put the computer in a clean bootState to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the section How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state from the link to start the computer to a Normal startupmode.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Start, run.

    (b) type msconfigand click OK.

    (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    (d) click the general tab, click Normal startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    (e) when you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.

Method 3: You can also manually install updates (KB number) by downloading from the Microsoft Download Center.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx

Method 4: Follow the steps in the article.

How to reset the Windows Update components?

I hope this helps. Let us know if you need more assistance.

    Thank you.

NOW, Microsoft has screwed up one of my laptops with this update.

Update KB2729450 in locked in an infinite loop.

Indicates that the download is successful, but then want to load the upload time and time again.

This update has totally screwed my computer more. I have to stop updates.

#2 clean boot METHOD sounds like a dangerous idea.

I ALSO MADE YOUR METHOD #3 and #4 method.

It's total BS Microsoft screwed this update if you have loaded it in the stop mode.

I ran the repair of the .NET Framework tool located in the http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135 and it resolved the problem for me.

First I have the .net Framework repair tool found a problem through a fix but

He told me to open the window of correction where the fix did not work (i: e install the KB2729450) I tried to install again, but she appeared on my sandbox, so I
pressing next in the repair tool and have allowed it to do a more thorough repair and then tried a second time to install and presto it worked. This time, although
the update asked me to restart. When I did my sandbox showed the yellow shield, so I started panicking :) but when I checked what install it was he showed one for Internet Explorer 8 for XP(KB2744842) so I knew the culprit install worked successfully, and it was just an another update for IE.

I hope this will help someone out there will be similar problem.

  • KB2729450, it is itself a security problem

Belarc Advisor is marked e KB2729450 as being a security risk. All other security analysis (Safety Scanner, AVG, etc.) do not seem to be able to find the problem. I suggest to anyone who has been updated KB2729450 to remove it from your computer and set your updates to off.

This file can be loaded down, but the "Update" icon is still active for KB2729450. At the same time as KB2729450 came as an update, the other two update files to low load with no problems. So the problem is KB2729450!

    Hi, Hangingonbymyfingers,

Please answer each of the following [admittedly tedious] diagnostic questions in a list numbered corresponding type in your very next answer, preferably without quote my post:

    1. What is the full name of your application or the installed antivirus security suite and when (date about) is your subscription current expires? What (other than Defender) anti-spyware applications are installed? What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

2 a Norton or McAfee application ALREADY installed on the computer?

    3. do you have a free trial Norton or a test of free McAfee [CHOOSE ONE ANSWER] come preinstalled on the computer when you bought it? (No matter if you have never used or activated).

    4. open Add/Remove Programs and make sure that Show updates at the top is checked (and leave it checked); then select the name in the box sort by on the right. Now do scroll down & tell me if ALL the other updates following up-to-date are listed?

    (d) KB2393802 and especially Update for Windows XP (KB971029).

  • This update that kb2729450 will not be installed on my machine.

This update that kb2729450 will not be installed on my machine. I am running Windows XP SP3. .NET framework 1.1 of .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 .NET Framework 3.0 SP2 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 are also responsible... Why the many versions?

The yellow security shield appears in the status bar. I click on the shield and the Update window opens. I select the "quick installation" and the installation of the update begins. After a few minutes, the message 'Done '. Here's where she spreads all other "Updates" I ran this machine. In the "Done" window, there is only an option button "close"... No button "restart the computer". I click on the "Close" button, the window collapses and the yellow shield disappears... for about 5 minutes, when he reappears! I check the 'Add Remove Programs' in Control Panel, and I don't see that kb2729450 listed. I've "installed" 5 - 6 times, always with the same result. I was struck with this ransomware FBI 4-5 months ago and it was professionally removed. Since I was very nervous when this machine burps.  Also, since the Microsoft Community page, I ran Kaspersky anti-rootkit.  He has reported no problems with this machine

Nope, different from the machine, although I think I solved it.  I "restored" to a point three weeks ago.  After that 'Restore' finished, I have rebooted and within minutes the yellow shield pops up... I installed every 5 or 6 that this KB.  After installation, he went through his screen to normal closing with the radio button 'restart now '.  After the reboot, I checked the area add / remove in the control panel and Voila.  They and KB2729450 are all here.  The machine seems to work very well and also faster than its ever been.

  • After the installation of KB2729450, the icon "updates are ready... "appears again and wants to reinstall again and again...

    XP Home, Service Pack 3

FIXIT ran a few times and that did not help.

Finally, I did a search for all files and folders with KB2729450 in the name. There were about 8 files in the TEMP folder. I reasoned that the patch has been downloaded, but not applied.

I have deleted all entries with KB2729450 in the name. I then to Microsoft and downloaded the patch manually. So I ran the patch. The hotfix has been installed and the update notification disappeared.

Thanks for your reply. Perhaps this fix works for other people with similar problems.

    Hello

All the updates appear to be associated with .net Framework.

We can try to run .NET here repair tool, and then repeat the installation of update again.

-L' tool creates a logfile (FixDotNet*.cab) on the desktop.

If this does not solve your problem then:

1 try a repair for the.NET 2.0 product Control Panel and then try to reinstall the update.

I also suggest you go through the steps in the article and check if that helps.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/GP/Windows-Update-issues

In addition you can also disable anti-virus and then try to download the updates manually and check.

Note: Remember to enable the antivirus program after you have completed troubleshooting.

If the problem persists, you can also run the FIXIT and check.

  • Windows Update keeps updated tioir to update installed

I am running Windows XP Professional SP3 on my laptop and installed a number of updates successfully on 11 and 13 July 2013.

But Windows Update keeps me offering updates security KB2729450, KB2742569, KB27789643, KB2804577, KB2833940 and KB2844285 and KB952069. I get no error message and they show installed successfully in my update history.

I ran MS Fix Center several times without success. On checking through my control panel, I discovered that the first 6 had actually been installed - I uninstalled and reinstalled, but Windows Update always their offer. I see that KB952069 has been downloaded, but it is not in the security updates that I can see through the control panel; so I do not know if it is also installed (doesn't seem to be the case). I've now hidden these 7 updates in desperation. How to solve this problem?

Good to know and happy you have sorted it.
I know about this tool but didn't think he could solve the problems of update.

    Thank you.

Open Windows Update > view update history

Are only the KB listed as "successfully" installed?

    Are security or optional updates?

If installed 'successfully', hide updates.  If the update failed, after return from the error # coinciding with KB code #.

Asked three times today and five times this week, as well as several times this year, to install the updates below and I go through the installation process, restart, etc., correctly. They keep coming back. Why.
